Author’s Point of View

Yoonsan listened as Angie and Rani and a few other agents discussed a plan for when Yoonsan goes to meet with Colette. Yoonsan was smart to tell them about the text and keep them informed about the other texts that she sent him. Junhyuk, Moonkyu, and Taehyun were in a bedroom on the phone with Sungwoon and Hojeong, informing them of everything.

“Look, the location she wants to meet at is far out from any internet access. How can we be sure that he’ll be safe?” Angie pointed to the map on the television that showed the exact location.

“Because our equiptment will work. It’s built for places like those.” Rani explained.

“Should we wait for boss to get here to discuss everything?” One agent asked.

“Would he be fine?” Another agent asked, gesturing towards Yoonsan.

“He will. He wants to do this and if this works out well, which it will, we’ll catch Bridgette and be able to get Eunjung back.” Rani assured.

“Wait, Bridgette? Who’s Bridgette?” Yoonsan turned to Angie who was closest as he rubbed Mushu’s head. She was assigned to be his translator during this.

“Uh…it’s a bit complicated but long story short, Colette’s real name is Bridgette.” Angie said. Yoonsan felt his eyes widen. What the hell is going on here?

“Don’t worry, . You’ll get informed over everything before we send you out.” Rani said before going over to an agent who got a hold of Keith’s ex-girlfriend.

“Hey! I got something back on the guy in the truck.” Alexa exclaimed, coming in with some papers that was faxed. Yoonsan did a double take when he saw her walk in and when Alexa saw him, she smiled.

“Hey, long time no see. The circumstances but don’t worry, Eunjung will be back in no time.” Mushu bounded over to her, tail wagging. She happily greeted him before going over to where Rani was with the papers, Angie following close. Mushu returned back to a confused Yoonsan. So many questions, so many.

“Dylan Joseph Bugg—no Angie, there is no relation between him and Jake Bugg. He was born in London. His mother was a single mother and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona when he was in middle school. He started with petty crimes when he was a senior in high school and that was the only thing on his record that could be found.” Alexa scanned the files for anything she might’ve missed before letting out an ‘oh!’.

“Him and his step-brother moved to Annapolis, Maryland a couple years ago and that is where Keith is from. We know they were in the same neighborhood and his step-brother attended high school the same time as Keith. We’re unsure if they associated with each other but we guessed that Keith probably hired Dylan. We don’t know if his step-brother is involved as well with this but he has nothing on his records.” Alexa explained.

“Do you know his step-brother’s name?” Angie asked.

“Nicholas Trent Tucker, born in Phoenix, Arizona. He’s the same age as Keith and Eunjung.” Alexa read from the file. “We’re just assuming that he’s working with them as well but until we have a clear picture of who it is, we can just suspect him for now.” Alexa finished, handing the papers to Angie so she could look them over before Alexa went to the whiteboard and stuck Dylan’s and Nicholas’ pictures to it, next to Keith’s and Colette’s.

“San, we’ll explain everything when our boss get’s here. I just got a text that he’s on his way.” Rani said as she typed a reply on her phone before slipping it back into her back pocket. “Any word on witnesses?” She asked the question to no one in particular.

“The officers all came back with the same thing from the few people that were around that time. They heard screaming, a gun shot, then the vehicle peeling out. No one saw anything except for one shop owner who saw Eunjung when she stopped to see the text.” Angie explained. She had been in touch with the chief of police who would text her once an hour with updates.

“Alright, well, that doesn’t really help.” Rani sighed. Angie merely shrugged her shoulders since there wasn’t much she could do about the information. She was just a messenger at this point until they were sent out to go with Yoonsan.

“I want updates. What’s been going on? What have we found? How close are we to getting Eunjung back and finding Bridgette?” Their boss walked in, everyone standing up at his prescence. Yoonsan stood up as well even though he didn’t know who this man was.

“Ah, you must be Eunjung’s husband. I’m deeply sorry for everything that’s been going on and I promise that we will find Eunjung, unharmed.” The boss apologized. Yoonsan smiled a small smile.

“It’s fine, sir. It’s not your fault.” Yoonsan said. The boss let out a sigh, Rani and Angie exchanging a glance before Angie approached them.

“Sir, I think you should be the one who explains everything to San. It’s only fair.” Angie said. Their boss nodded his head before gesturing for Yoonsan to follow him to the kitchen.

“We’ll discuss the plan when I get back.” Their boss called back to the agents as him and Yoonsan walked into the kitchen.

“Angie, I’m going to check on the guys. You’re in charge while I’m gone.” Angie nodded her head assuring Rani that she could handle everything.

Rani walked to the room that she knew the others were in and walked in to find them sitting on the bed, the phone in the middle. Junhyuk and Moonkyu both had bloodshot eyes, like Yoonsan did, while Taehyun sat between them, arm around them both. Rani heard voices coming from the phone so she knew it was on speaker phone.

“Hyungs, we’ll try to be there as soon as possible.” Rani recognized Hojeong’s voice.

“Yeah, hyungs. We’ll be there as soon as possible. How’s San handling everything?” She also recognized Sungwoon’s voice.

“As best as he can. Noona and Angie and everyone else are working hard to find Eunjung and get the people who did this.” Taehyun spoke for Moonkyu and Junhyuk.

“Edward hyung wants us to let him know when we come so he can come with us. Him and everyone else are extremely worried but Edward is the only one who’s able to come with us.” Sungwoon explained.

Rani walked to the bed and sat next to Junhyuk who pulled away from Taehyun so Rani could hug him which she did. She rubbed his back as he cried again, knowing how much Eunjung meant to him.

“Don’t worry hun, we’ll find her.” Rani said before kissing the top of Junhyuk’s head.

In the kitchen, Yoonsan sat at the table with the boss, Mushu resting his head on Yoonsan’s lap.

“You must be confused about everything. I’m sure the girls told you that Colette’s real name is Bridgette.” Yoonsan nodded his head, prompting the boss to sigh.

“Her full name is Bridgett Andrews, and she’s my daughter.” Yoonsan felt his eyes widen. He knew nothing about Colette’s, or should he say Bridgette’s, family so he just took as them being private people.

“She was diagnoised with schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and as a sociopathic liar when she was younger.” Yoonsan let out a gasp, not expecting this information.

“Her mother didn’t want to believe anything was wrong with Bridgette so she took her away to raise her on her own since I insisted on getting the proper treatment for everything. The sociopathic liar wasn’t brought up till recently but the other two, I’ve known about.” Yoonsan watched as the boss took a deep breath before continuing to speak.

“Whatever country they were in, I’d visit since her mother and I didn’t want to divorce. Every country they’d go to, Bridgette would change her name and become a new person, based on the country. France was the last country her mother and I last saw her before she disappeared. We didn’t even know what name she had chosen for herself when they were there.”

“Why did she disappear?” Yoonsan asked.

“We think it had to do with you. Because of her schizophrenia, she would get hallucinations. She used to see this person and we only knew what he looked like because she drew pictures. When Bridgette disappeared, I found the journals she drew in and found one of the drawings. I also found a picture she had managed to take of you and compared.” Yoonsan felt a pang of guilt. If he didn’t go to France, he wouldn’t have met ‘Colette’ and wouldn’t have got Eunjung into this.

“Don’t blame yourself, San. You couldn’t have seen this coming. Bridgette was very believable when she was a different person. Only my wife and I knew that how she acted, wasn’t how she truly was. But, we’ll find Eunjung, I promise. It’s the least I can do. I should’ve been more tough when it came to Bridgette’s treatment but I love my wife so much and she was worried about what others would say if they found out about Bridgette getting treatment. No one knew about her diagnosis. That doesn’t excuse us from how we handled this.” Yoonsan knew he couldn’t get angry at the man in front of him since he knew that when it came to Eunjung, he couldn’t say no either.

“It’s not your fault either. I don’t blame you and I know Eunjung wouldn’t blame you either.” Yoonsan quietly said. The two sat in silence until Angie came in.

“Sir, we need to start discussing the plan for when San goes to meet Bridgette.” Angie said.

“You’re right. We can’t waste anytime. Eunjung’s return relies on every second we work. Let’s go, San. We need to make sure nothing goes wrong for your safety and Eunjung’s.” Yoonsan stood up with the boss.

“What about Bridgette’s? Don’t you want her to be safe.” The boss let out a sigh.

“I’ve come to terms with the fact that if Bridgette resists, force would have to be used.” The boss sounded sad at this since it was his daughter, but she was now a felon and would be treated as such, regardless of their relationship.

“Alright, we have less than 48 hours and need to come up with a fool proof plan for this meeting. Lives are at stake and we’re dealing with people who will stop at nothing to make sure they get their way. It could turn into a volatile situation if anything goes wrong and that’s what we’re trying to avoid.” Angie spoke up, getting the attention of everyone in the living room just as Rani came back who was followed by Junhyuk, Moonkyu, and Taehyun.

“We’re sending some agents to the area as we speak so they can do a recon and get back to us. Once we have a clear idea on what’s in the area, then we can start going over the proper tools that San will be equipped with. What microphones we’ll need and how we can keep them from being seen. Microphones will be put in the area if possible and cameras so we can have eyes on the situation at all time.” Angie instructed. To the agents and Rani, this side was well known but to Yoonsan, Junhyuk, Moonkyu, and Taehyun, this side was very, very new and surprising to see from the 5’0” girl.

“Rani, anything to add on?” Angie turned the attention over to Rani.

“We’ll catch Bridgette. We spent too many years chasing false leads. Bridgette will be caught along with Keith and whoever else is involved. Eunjung will be returned safely to her family. Any slip up on our part can put Eunjung, San, or any of us at risk, so no one mess up or you’ll be answering to me, understood?” Rani got assurance from the agents that they understood and Rani and Angie shared a smirk. They were finally going to close the case they worked on for years.
