Chapter 3

It's Not Over

For the past four days, the bad dreams kept getting worse and it was getting to the point to where I could hardly sleep through the night and every little noise started freaking me out. NamJoon would ask me what was going on but I never answered. I knew he was getting frustrated with not knowing what was wrong with me.

“Come on. Get up and get ready. We need to get out of the house for a while.” NamJoon said, trying to get me to let loose and out of the bed.

Today is his free day, and it seems like he’s really determined to get me out of the house. After a few more minutes of him taking the blankets from me and me getting them back and so on. I finally decided I couldn’t fight it anymore and got up and got ready for whatever he wanted to do.

As we made our way out of the apartment building, I couldn’t help but stop at the last step and look around to make sure that person wasn’t anywhere around.

“What are you doing?” NamJoon asked, grabbing my hand to pull me to start walking again.

“I’m just looking around. That’s all.” I said, as I continued to walk after I confirmed to myself that it was ok to go.

We walked to the car and started to drive off.

‘There’s a little festival going on somewhere nearby, would you like to go?” he asked.

“Yea, I think we should. It would be nice to do something fun since it’s been a while.” I said, smiling at him.

“Festival it is.” He said, giving me his dimple smile that I loved so much.

When we got to the festival there were a lot of people there.

“Come on. Don’t go drifting off by yourself.” He said, giving me that all knowing look.

“I’m not going to, well at least I’m going to try not to.” I said. When we go to any outdoor events I tend to go off on my own and look at all the things the little shops have.

I know I can’t drift from his side today. I don’t know if my ex is anywhere around here. Why did I let him take me here? I now regretted my decision but would he really find me here. There’s like a billion chances of him being here, right?

We started walking toward the Ferris wheel. We walked by a photo booth and I stopped him.

“Let’s take pictures before we go on the ride.” I suggested.

We hopped into the photo booth and started making funny faces and romantic poses. When we got done, we examined the pictures only to laugh at them.

“Now whose idea was this? Haha, do I really make those faces?” NamJoon asked. I couldn’t help but laugh at him. I took the photos and put them in my wallet.

We didn’t have to wait long in line to get on the Ferris Wheel.

“We should go get our face painted.” I said, while playing with his fingers and squeezing them every once in a while.

“Whoa, whoa. I’m a man. I don’t need my face painted.” He said.

“Come on. Please for me.” I said, using my aegyo on him.

“Aish this girl. You’re lucky I love you.” He said, as he planted a kiss on my nose.

“Yay.” I squealed. “How about I pick yours and you pick mine?”

We made our way to the face painting tent. NamJoon got his done first and I wouldn’t let him look at his face until after I was done getting what he picked for me.

We both looked in the mirror. NamJoon’s face paint was of a batman mask and mine was a mask of swirls, butterflies, and glitter. I couldn’t help but laugh at him, when he seen his face.

“I knew you were either going to pick this or Spiderman.” He said, trying to fix his hair.

“Why are you fixing your hair?” I said, laughing at him.

“I’m trying to make it look cooler with a nice hair style.” He replied.

“Haha. Come on. You already look cool.” I said.

I pulled him out of the tent and we made our way to the food court.

We grabbed some food and started talking about how BTS’s new album is going and how the other boys are doing.

We got on some more rides. I was getting tired of the rides and started walking towards the shop booths. I wanted to get us some couple items but I couldn’t decide if we should get clothing or jewelry.

“We don’t need any more couple items, we have too many items.”

“You can never have too many couple items.” I said. I took my hand from his and crossed my arms across my chest.

“Fine. Fine, but can I pick this time?” He asked and I nodded my head.

He picked out two hats that had cute little characters on it. I smiled and gladly put the hat on my head.

We made our way to one of the game booths. Every time we go to a festival, before we leave he insists on trying to win me something.

As he was playing, I noticed a booth shop that looked interesting and made my way to it. Forgetting that I had promised NamJoon I wouldn’t stray.

I was looking at everything and then I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.

“I’m so sorry. I know I said I –“I started to say as I turned myself around only to find that this wasn’t NamJoon. He found me again.

“It’s nice to see you, too.” He said, as he tried to come in for a kiss as I tried to push him away.

He wouldn’t budge but soon I felt another set of arms pull me in another direction and I see that it was NamJoon. He didn’t look happy at all.

“KangJun.” NamJoon said.
