The apartment had never been so silent before.

Various fast food uniforms were scattered around the living room, takeout boxes fused onto the kitchen table, open textbooks preaching their knowledge to the empty air. Meanwhile Moonbyul was splayed across the worn couch, her neon McDonalds uniform popping out against the brown leather and the black and white rugs. Her head dangled from the armrest, nose whistling with every breath she drew in. An alarm clock sat on the floor next to a change of clothes along with a handwritten note.

Going to dinner with Wheein. Being picked up at 7.

The clock's face changed to 6:15 and the alarm sprang to life, but to no avail. Moonbyul remained oblivious to the incessant beeping and her breathing only slowed further, plunging her deeper and deeper into sleep. After a while the alarm clock gave up and silence took control once again.

Her phone stared back at her blankly as the time ticked by. It was 7:15 already. Wheein decided to head up to Moonbyul's apartment, maybe she was heading down right now, about to send a text apologize for the wait. But Wheein made it up to the apartment door uninterrupted. Knocking and stepping back she expected the door to burst open and reveal a disheveled Moonbyul with one shoe on. However only silence greeted her. Deciding to head in, Wheein punched in the door code.

The sight that greeted her was hardly surprising. If anything it should have been weeks ago that she crashed. With a sigh of resgination she threaded her way through the dirty maze to Moonbyul. She noticed that the stale food was less toxic than last time, but not by very much. A soft giggle drifted through the air as Wheein spotted the clothes and note next to Moonbyul's alarm. Shaking her head, and with a small smile, she joined her girlfriend on the couch. As one drifted deeper into sleep, the other only fixed her eyes on the beautiful face inches away from her own. She let her lips ghost across the weary face before settling in for the night. 

If this is the only time I get then I better make the most of it.
