April 25th 1910

~Morning~

Dear Diary,

Today my mother pricked her finger on a needle and bleed onto a blanket she had been working on for a long while, she wept at her ruined blanket, but Cali simply took a cloth with water and dabbed at the stain and it came out! Everybody thinks she is so dumb, but I think my sister is the smartest person in the world! 

~Evening~

Dear Diary,

I went walking with Cali to collect the silk from the silk worms, she always had trouble with this job so father told me to go with her. It wasn't always a difficult job, the worms scared me, but Cali picked one up and made me hold my hand out and she put it in my palm.

She said "Once they know you are their friend, they'll make better quality silk" then she touched my nose " just for you."

I smiled widely, and even after we collected the silk mother and father asked what I was smiling about, I just giggled and said "I like silk worms now!" And danced around the kitchen. Cali and my parents clapped as my feet moved to an invisible beat.

I am very happy today diary, but I must go to sleep.
