The first time he heard his voice angry was shortly after their debut. They had been attending music and variety shows all week and for the first time since debut they were having a free morning. The time had been more tiring than expected and Ryeowook was glad that he could finally catch up on some sleep. That was until two loud voices from the living-room interrupted his peaceful sleep. Groaning he pressed his pillow onto his head and turned around when his eyes suddenly got caught on the empty bed beside him. A look of confusion settled on his face, as Jongwoon wasn´t one to get up early when he wasn´t forced to.

Suddenly one of the voices spoke up again and the Maknae recognized it as one of their manager´s. He sounded irritated although the young Korean couldn´t make out what exactly was being said. Shortly after, another, even louder, voice spoke up and Ryeowook noticed it immediately. He was sure he would recognize his Hyung´s dark, deep voice everywhere.

He considered to just turn around and try to sleep for a little more as they would have another training and music show later that day and he didn´t know when would be the next time they were able to sleep in, but when the voices got even louder he decided that there was no use anyways. Letting out a grown he lifted himself off the bed and made his way towards the bathroom. Just as he passed the common area their manager spoke up again.

»Yesung, calm down. The others are still sleeping! « their manager´s voice was tense and Ryeowook could hear he was trying not to show his annoyance.

The small Korean couldn´t help but wonder what had happened. Their manager was normally a calm person and did hardly get annoyed. He knew it was none of his business and he should just continue his way to the bathroom but he couldn´t help but be curious. For some reason everything about the older main vocal made him curious and lately he often caught himself observing the other secretly. Just like now as he carefully peaked into the common area. Their manager was sitting at the table, the papers in front of him seemingly forgotten. Yesung was standing across from him, anger clearly written on his face.

»Calm down?!? How am I supposed to calm down?!? Hyung, it has been over a week already! « the main vocal´s voice was more of a growl and Ryeowook jumped slightly in surprise. He had never heard his hyung angry. Yes, he had seen the older annoyed, especially in the beginning when the other members had still ignored him, but he had never seen him in this state and to be honest it scared him a little. A long minute of silence followed and Ryeowook considered to just quickly return to their room when their manager spoke up again.

»I know, Yesung, but it´s not my fault. What do you want me to do about it? «

»Am I the manager or are you? I don´t care what you do, but do something! « Yesung´s voice nearly broke towards the end of the sentence as he turned around and stormed past the Maknae without giving him a single glance. A mixture of concern and confusion settled on Ryeowook´s face and he was about to follow his best friend when their manager grabbed him by this wrist.

»Ryeowook-ah, please talk to him. I don´t know what else to do to calm him down« instead of annoyed he sounded tired now and even though the youngest didn´t know what had happened between them, he felt sorry for him.

Giving a quick nod the small Korean quickly headed towards their shared room. Their door was closed so he gave a small nock before opening it. Yesung was sitting on his bed, back against the wall, eyes closed, and if his heavy heaving chest was any indication he was still extremely upset. Closing the door carefully the younger of the two spoke up with a quiet voice as to not startle the older.

»Hyung? «

»What!?! « the aggressiveness in the other´s voice made startled the Maknae and he instinctively took a small step back before speaking up again.

»Are you ok, Hyung? « he tried to sound as normal as possible but he was pretty sure the fear he felt at the other´s reaction was evident in his voice. If it did the older didn´t comment on it and instead turned towards the younger singer who was still standing near the door.

»Of course I am fine! « Yesung´s voice was dripping with sarcasm and the younger got even more concerned. What had happened to his roommate for him to act so totally differently from his normal self? »Why would I not be fine, if I seem to get totally ignored? «

»What do you mean? « a look of confusion settled on the brunette´s face and he slowly walked over to sit on his own bed, eyes never leaving the older whose angry stare was now directly on him.

»I mean, that I gave up everything to become a singer. That I am working my off so that I can my best every time we stand on stage and what for?!? Only to be ignored by the camera all the time! «

»Hyung…« the younger´s voice was hesitant as he got up from his bed again.

»You´ve seen the recordings Wookie! I haven´t even come out ones! Even when it was my part and everyone come out. Everyone came out, except me! I…« Yesung´s voice broke at the end of the sentence as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Ryeowook stilled immediately. He had never seen his hyung this distressed. Of course he had noticed that their older lead singer didn´t really appear on screen every time they performed at music shows, but he had never thought that it would trouble Yesung that much and even though he knew it was normal to feel sorry for he couldn´t explain the sting in his hear he felt as he watched his fellow member sitting on the bed. All he knew was that he wanted nothing more than to comfort his best friend.

Walking over to the other´s bed he slowly sat down beside him and winded his arm around the older´s shoulders before he spoke up quietly.

»I…I didn´t know, Hyung« he could feel the taller relax a little into his embrace and he almost let out a sight of contentment. »I…I am sorry, Hyung. I can understand you are disappointed and angry, but don´t you thing you were a little harsh towards Manager Hyung? It´s not his fault after all«

During his talking Yesung had slowly calmed down a little so Ryeowook was taken by surprise when the older suddenly jumped up and stared at him with such anger that the Maknae involuntarily shrunk deeper into the bed.

»He told you to talk to me, didn´t he?!? «

»I…I…« Ryeowook´s first intention was to tell the other that he had only wanted to comfort him but he didn´t want to lie to his best friend.

»You know what?! Forget it! It´s not like you care anyways! Nobody does, so why would you!?! «

»Hyung! « the Maknae tried to reach out for the taller man but Yesung was already on his way to the door. It didn´t take long till he heard the front door slam shut.

Letting out a deep sigh the young Korean leaned back against the wall. He had just wanted to comfort his best friend and all he had succeeded in was in making him even angrier. His heart tightened painfully at the thought of it. Yesung had been the first one to care about him in this group and Ryeowook had to admit that he had grown quiet attached to the older. He angrily used his sleeve to wipe his eyes as he felt tears burn in them. He didn´t even cry when the others were still hostile towards him so he shouldn´t cry now as well, especially about something as stupid as a fight between friends. Even though he had never seen the other angry he was sure Yesung wouldn´t stay angry at him forever and still he couldn´t get rid of the thoughts what he would do if the older wouldn´t talk to him again. It scared him more than he knew it probably should. Yes, they were best friends but Sungmin was just as good of a friend and the thought of losing him didn´t worry him as much. Suddenly the thought that maybe what he was feeling for the older lead singer was something more than friendship crossed his mind, making him jump up from his position on the bed. Shaking his head violently to get rid of the thought he made his way to the bathroom to start his usual routine.

The rest of the day continued without any further incidents. Yesung had only come him last minute and ignored him for the rest of the day. It was only late at night, when they were in their room after they had washed up after their last performance that day that Yesung paid him attention again. Yesung was sitting on his bed as Ryeowook was busy drying off his hair, when the older suddenly spoke up.

»Wookie? «

Halting in his tracks the younger turned to look at the other questioningly.

»Wookie...« the older main vocal gulped soundly before patting the empty spot beside him. »Can we talk? «

Sitting down Ryeowook nervously looked down on his lap. They had never fought before and he wasn´t sure what to say. He considered apologizing but the older beat him to it.

»Wookie, listen to me« he waited until the younger´s attention was fully on him. »Wookie, I am sorry! I shouldn´t have gotten angry at you. I was just so stressed out and…and I…I…«

»You were right, Hyung« the younger´s voice was quiet but it was enough to interrupt the older main vocal. »Manager Hyung did ask me to talk to you, but I didn´t come because of that, hyung. I just…I just came to…« he didn´t know how to explain but Yesung seemed to understand anyways.

»I know, Wookie. I just overreacted. I am sorry. Can you forgive me? «

A small smile appeared on the younger main vocal´s lips as he nodded and Yesung immediately wrapped an arm around his torso. Leaning in a little more they stayed quiet for a few minutes before the smaller man´s voice interrupted the comfortable silence.

»I am sorry you don´t really appear on screen, Hyung. I think you deserve to be on screen a lot. You are the best vocal in our team and I really don´t understand why the cameramen seem to ignore you«

»Thank you, Wookie« the bright smile that planted itself on the older´s face had the Maknae´s heart skip a beat before it accelerated to its double speed when the older wrapped him into a tight hug »Thank you, but I think the best vocal in our team is still you«

Ryeowook wanted to protest at this but the other´s warmth that seemed to transfer straight into his heart kept him quiet. Instead he just enjoyed the feeling of being hugged by his best friend. Relieve slowly washed over him and he hoped that even if this was how they made up the older would never get angry at him again and as the older tightened the hug for just a few seconds and his heart felt like jumping from his chest he decided that he probably had grown a little crush on his older member.
