“So are you gonna continue or not?” Seunghyun tilted his head a bit towards Bom, still resting his chin on her shoulder.
“If you want me to,” she snuggled closer to him.
“Of course I want to. Please continue,”
Bom gazed far before starting. She bit her lower lip.
“I was shocked seeing your father there, staring back at me. So I ran back to the room to put on something. I was ashamed for meeting your father for the first time and left that kind of impression, but unexpectedly, he laughed. I was in confuseness and then he told me he understood why you were so attached to me since we first met,”
Bom stopped to hear Seunghyun’s opinion.
“And why is that?” Seunghyun held Bom’s waist tighter, starting to feel uneasy waiting for her answer.
“Be-because he told me, that I...” she hesitated.
“You...what?” he held her tighter.
“I...had a nice body?” she sounded weak.
“That bastard!”
Seunghyun let his arms off her, straighten his back---ready to get up---when Bom turned around and hugged him. She hugged him so tight and close, her feet were wrapping around his hips; her arms around his neck; and her body were leaning on him.
He stopped his actions and stayed still. He tried to calm himself, eventhough his fingers fisted and his veins were boldly showing everywhere. He remembered he need to remain cold-headed, to keep her off from crying. So he breathed deep, closed his eyes and loosened his clenching teeth.
“It’s okay, I got myself under control. I won’t be mad. I won’t. I promise. I love you,” Seunghyun inhaled her scent and wrapped his arms tight around her again.
Bom took a deep breath before tightening her hug, “I love you too. I’m so sorry,”
Seunghyun his fingers on her hair and whispered, “No sorries needed, it’s our deal---he pecked her neck---continue, please?”
Bom let out a sigh and she continued, “Listen and don’t interrupt until I’m done, okay?”
She could feel Seunghyun nodding his head.
“Your father wanted to make a deal with me. He promised that he will sponsor me as a fashion designer and he would also support everything I need if I agreed with his circumtances. And those circumtances are---Bom held her breath---to leave you and be with him,”
Bom could feel Seunghyun pulling himself in anger, so she quickly held him tighter, “But because I love you so much, Seunghyun-ah, I refused him. I refused him hard. I yelled and got so angry, I instantly left your place. I feel offended and hurt at the same time, I can’t believe your own father betrayed you and us. That’s why I never came to your place again for weeks, because I was scared to see your father there again, asking me the same question.”
Then it went silent. Bom could feel Seunghyun loosening his hug. She waited for his respond, but he never said a word. She got so worried, she let her hug off and cupped his face.
And that was when she found him crying in silence while spacing out. He must’ve been speechless, by Bom’s confession and by his own father’s doing.
Bom’s voice cracked, “Seung-ah...”
Seunghyun tilted his head towards Bom and stared with tears flooding his eyes. He didn’t say a word but his lips trembled.
Bom’s tears ran down and she hugged him, “I love you, don’t cry. No tears needed, we agreed, no tears needed.”
But Seunghyun didn’t answer and Bom could feel her right shoulder getting wet.
“Seung-ah, I love you. I love you despite of everything that had happened to us. I love you and I will always do, that’s what really matters to us, right?”
“I love you too,” Seunghyun answered with his cracking-deep-raspy-voice, he continued, “Apparently, the 2 generations fell in love with the same girl,” he tighten his arms around her again.
Bom smiled between her tears, “Ya, what’s that supposed to mean? Is that sarcasm you’re saying to me?” she erased her tears and his head gently.
“I love it,” he diverted the conversation, “When you my head like this, I feel like I’m being comforted by my mother I never get a chance to meet,”
“But Seung-ah, I am your mother, your lover, your sister, your babysitter, your everything you want me to be. You forget that?”
Seunghyun let out a single laughter, “That’s right, those old, cheesy words of yours. Ya, Park Bom-ssi, it’s been a long time since you said those words. When was it? I remember....but I can’t tell,”
Bom smiled and kissed his right cheek,”The last time was when you were having a lot of pressure from work, about 4 years ago,” she looked straight at him.
He smiled, “Ya, that was like a century ago.”
They smiled at each other and Bom pulled Seunghyun’s nape closer to her until their forehead touched. They stared at each other with loving gaze.
Bom looked hesitating as she broke the silence, “I had a situation I didn’t tell you back then,”
Seunghyun raised his eyebrows, “What situation?”
Bom let out a sigh, looked downwards, then to his eyes again, “Reumi was very sick,”
Seunghyun’s eyes popped as he held his breath, “Sick..?”
“She had...leukimia. That’s why she pushed everyone away, including me, after she found out about her own illness,”
Seunghyun stayed still. His eyes starting to get wet and his mouth opened in shock.
Bom cupped his face, “She didn’t tell me. She didn’t tell anyone. She kept it for herself, until my old friend who is her doctor, told me about her condition. But it’s too late,” her voice cracked as she continued, “Maybe she thought it was for the best, since she knew her chance of surviving was small and we had no money for the medication,”
Seunghyun answered as a tear fell down, “Wh-why don’t you tell me? I could...I mean I could help with her medication, why don’t you tell me?”
Bom stared at Seunghyun deep and long, making him feeling uneasy.
He straighten his back and held her hands, “What is it, Bom-ah? What are you trying to say to me?”
Bom sighed and another tear fell off her cheeks, “Promise me you won’t blame yourself if I told you what I’m going to say.”
Seunghyun firmly nodded.
“I tried telling you but you were always busy. I can’t reach you, I can’t tal
