“Are you sure of your decision, my dear friend?” The old king just cracked a small smile, nodding gently as if that was his answer to his friend’s question.

“But Sir...my family. They are not of royal blood. I would never want to smear the royal family w-with commoner’s blood.” The man sitting face-to-face with the king bowed before his eyes close when he felt a gentle tap on his shoulder.

“You, Kim Jihoo has been my friend since I was really young. You had save me from dire situations. You...I have already considered you as my own family.” Jihoo raised his head up to look at the king before looking away, reminding himself that he was not allowed to look into the eyes of the retired king.

Even when he is the king’s best friend.

“My dear king, treating me as a family, that is ridiculous. I am of a lower status than you, my king. I-”

“Eversince I was named king...even after I passed that status to my son, Jung Ilwoo, I had always wanted for the royal family to be equals with the commoners. You and I. We should always be equal. That will be how our country will prosper.”

“Thus your will?” Jihoo asked bitterly. The two men looked at the paper laid on the table in between of them.

“Yes. In the near future, my heir to the throne shall marry the heir to the family name of Kim Jihoo, my true friend.”

“Thank you, Sir.”

Hello! Welcome to Our Royal Hours, my YunJae version of a Princess Hours or Goong drama. I've been trying to find fanfics that are similar but sadly, not a lot has come up. So, I decided to write my own instead. Of course what better way to enjoy it other than sharing with all of you lovely people.

I'm not going to spoil anything. So basically, this is a YunJae story, meaning it's Jung Yunho plus Kim Jaejoong falling in love with one another.
