Chapter 3

A vigorous wind blew Yoohwan’s fire until they almost died out. Most of the Seraphs were eliminated in the process too. Yet, the Archangel didn’t stop calling for more and more Seraphs from his fire gate.

“Jaejoong, you can’t use your power!” Yoochun shouted when he saw Jaejoong gripped on his pendant; ready to crush it. They knew if Jaejoong broke the pendant and used his power; the Demon King’s awaking would be even faster. Yet, Jaejoong didn’t care; he didn’t want Yoochun to perish too.

“I’ve enough to be protected,” Jaejoong stopped crying but his dried tears were still visible. Yoochun rushed to Jaejoong’s side but he’s too far. Jaejoong closed his eyes and was about to break the pendant, but a touch he knew so well stopped him.

“Stop it, Jae,” echoed a voice he thought he had lost,” It’s my duty to protect you so you don’t have to feel guilty about it.”

“…Yunho?” Jaejoong couldn’t believe his eyes when Yunho reappeared in front of him; unhurt and smiling. Yoochun stopped on his track as he frowned; he didn’t know what the hell happened. Even Yoohwan managed to freeze for a moment. At least until Yunho’s blade was right in front of him.

The Archangel avoided the attack as his retreated. That’s when everyone realized it didn’t make sense; there’s two Yunho-s. One standing in front of Jaejoong and another one was attacking the Seraphs in front of Yoohwan, making his way toward the Archangel.

“I can clone myself,” Yunho whispered as he pulled Jaejoong to his arm,” Thanks for reminding me my new power. It took me a while to figure it out but the one who burnt out was one of my clones. So---“

Yunho couldn’t finish his sentence as Jaejoong pushed him down to the ground, securing him so tightly; afraid to lose him again. Yunho patted Jaejoong’s head. Then suddenly a dead Seraph fell right beside them. Yoochun stood next to them after he killed the Seraph.

“Jaejoong, stay back and let me and Yunho handle the battle, okay?” Yoochun asked with a voice Jaejoong knew so well; it’s the same tone Yoochun spoke whenever he wanted Jaejoong to trust him. Jaejoong nodded; He hated he couldn’t fight but he didn’t want to be a burden so he would do what he was told. That’s the least he could do.

“Cloning yourself won’t last forever,” Yoohwan spoke,” My Seraphs are infinite. You can’t defeat me.”

Yoochun looked to Yunho as they talked with their eyes; old habit died hard. Then, without a warning, Yunho jumped forward as few others of him moved into the same direction. All of them were rushing toward Yoohwan. Yet, whenever one of the Yunho-s was close enough, Yoohwan retreated.

Jaejoong watched in silence when Yoochun didn’t move to help Yunho. He trusted they got a plan. It’s true; suddenly a small black hole appeared on top of Yoochun. It grew bigger and bigger as the time passed. That’s when Jaejoong realized Yoochun was chanting spells.

“Now!” Yoochun shouted suddenly as one of the Yunho-s retreated. The big black hole moved in lightning speed and crushed everything on its way. The ground was eaten as the Seraph disappeared into the nothingness. Yoohwan barely avoided the attack as the fire gate behind him closed.

Jaejoong couldn’t see anything; everything was covered in dust. He looked back and realized the void membrane was still there, so Yoohwan was still not defeated. After a while, he could see Yoochun standing few feet in front of him but he still couldn’t see Yunho.

Suddenly, Jaejoong felt a presence behind him. He thought it’s Yunho but he’s so wrong when the Archangel’s figure showed up. Yoohwan wasn’t as glowing as he was and Jaejoong knew he could cancel the Archangel’s attack if he wanted to. Yet, he knew he didn’t need to.

Before Yoohwan could touch him, Yoochun pulled Jaejoong back and moved forward to attack the Archangel with his visible wind blade. There’s this transparent blade over Yoochun’s arm and Jaejoong could see it. Yoohwan tried to avoid it but before he could, Yunho was right behind the Archangel.

“Damn youuuu demonssss,” Yoohwan cried out.

It all happened so fast. All Jaejoong saw now was Yoohwan laying on the ground with his broken wings. Yunho broke them with his sword and Yoochun made sure Yoohwan wouldn’t be able to move. It’s sad, almost, because Jaejoong didn’t want to hurt Yoohwan inside his heart. He knew he’s not exactly the same Yoohwan they knew but still.

“What are you waiting for?” Yoohwan asked,” Kill me and you’ll be free off this void.”

Nor Yoochun or Yunho moved. Jaejoong was the first one to move toward the fallen Archangel. Yunho wanted to make Jaejoong stop but Yoochun prevented him. He knew Yoohwan was on his limit after calling so many Seraphs and wounded by their attack.

“Yoohwan, please listen to me,” Jaejoong finally said,” Please give us time. We have found a way to banish or even better to destroy the Demon King for good.”

“…You’re lying,” Yoohwan muttered as he slowly got up, only to fail miserably and kneeled on the ground,” There’s no other way than killing each of you…”

“I’m not lying and I know you know that,” Jaejoong spoke,” At least, hear us out and if you still don’t want to believe us after that, you can kill me afterward but free the others. The curse will be lifted from them after I---“

“Jae, you can’t say that!“ Yunho protested.

“We promise we’ll all make it alive,” Yoochun reminded,” I’m not letting anyone sacrificing themself. That includes you, Jaejoong.”

“But---“

“It’s not me you need to convince,” Yoohwan finally spoke as he chanted a healing spell for his own injury,” You need to convince Junho hyung. I just do whatever he told me; he’s after all the highest of Archangels…”

“So you will hear us out, right?” Jaejoong spoke almost too friendly as he suddenly held Yoohwan’s hand,” Thank you! Thank you so much.”

Yoohwan wanted to kick Jaejoong for touching him; being touched by demons was the most disgusting thing Yoohwan could think of as Archangel. Yet, he didn’t. Yoochun and Yunho were also in shock as they slowly got closer the wounded Archangel and Jaejoong.

“I let my side of void down, so please don’t step on the grass,” Yoohwan reminded as the membrane that had been keeping them inside blew away into the air. They could see another void resembled big bubble on the dinner. They couldn’t see what’s inside though; the dinner seemed fine like nothing was wrong. Yet, they knew another fight was taking place.

“Why?” Yoochun finally asked as he kneeled next to his ex-step-brother.

“…Because I’m weak,” Yoohwan spoke in a voice Yoochun knew so well,” I remember my past life as human and that’s why I want to believe all of you even though I know I shouldn’t by angel law.”

“Thanks for believing,” Yoochun pulled Yoohwan into a hug as the Archangel’s eyes literally almost popped out from their socket. He knew he should feel disgusted and angry but it felt so weird. Yoohwan could feel his chest warmed up all of the sudden.

“I love the reunion, really,” Yunho suddenly spoke,” But shouldn’t we figure out how to break that void from outside. I don’t have good feelings about this…”

“You can’t,” Yoohwan answered,” Junho hyung is the only one who can do it from inside.”

“Can’t we distract him so my little brothers can have better chance to fight him off?” Jaejoong asked as Yoohwan frowned. He couldn’t believe himself to touch, talk, or even plan something with demons. Yet, the world was one big ball of mysteries. Yoohwan knew their Father was watching and if he’s not turned into demon or banished from the heaven now; this might be what their Father wanted.

Then Junho’s sentence echoed on Yoohwan’s mind,’Father wants us to put an end to this, Yoohwan.’ Yes, Father wanted to put an end of this curse but Father didn’t say about killing the demons. This could be what their Father meant by putting the end.

“A penny for your thought?” Yoochun’s voice woke Yoohwan from his thinking; it’s almost too nostalgic.

“I have an idea, follow me,” Yoohwan spoke as he stood up. His wound was almost healed and his wings were spreading so widely. Yoochun was almost afraid Yoohwan would fly away and escape but the Archangel didn’t. Instead, he flew light and held Yoochun’s arm before taking off. Jaejoong and Yunho could only watch as their mouths hung open when Yoochun was floating on the air with Yoohwan.

P.S. Yunho livesssss, yes, I can't kill him without turning Jaejoong ending the world LOL. Seriously though, I think I'm gonna finish this fic soon, like trying to update almost daily? *grin* Comments are gold? *puppy eyes*
