Chapter 10

He was beat; tonight was busier than ever, probably because it’s New Year Eve. He was lucky he got early shift so he could finish around ten. So probably he still could spend the last minute of this year with his family.

He was walking a bit fast as he crossed the road. The street was still so crowded and people were still wide awake and some of them might be drunk. It was when he reached across the street he heard a familiar voice called his name.

“YOOCHUN, STOP HIM!”

He had good reflect; that’s how he could act in instant to tackle the person running behind him until that person crashed on the floor. Yoochun didn’t have to do anything else as another person who called his name put a handcuff around the poor man on the ground. People started looking at them.

“Always so flashy, huh, Jung?” Yoochun smiled as Yunho smiled back. Other people in uniform rushed to their side and took the man from Yunho. The crowd eventually forgot what just happened and went on with their things.

“I have been tracking him for weeks! Finally I got him today!” Yunho said excitedly. Yoochun wanted to say it’s all thanks to him but he just smiled.

“So, you off duty now?” Yoochun asked as Yunho nodded,” Want to go home together?”

“Sure, wait a minute,” Yunho rushed back to the people in uniform to talk and then went back to Yoochun. Both of them walked in silence but it wasn’t awkward. To be frank, Yoochun didn’t think Yunho could be detective instead a bodyguard. But then again, Yunho was the one who found out how to stop the Demon King and he could do martial arts too, so he should be qualified as one.

“I can’t believe three years have passed. So how’s your work?” Yunho was the one who broke the silence. It’d been three years since they defeated the Demon King.

“Busy but I can handle it, we have enough people to fill the demands now,” Yoochun answered. He was not a bartender anymore now; he’s the bar supervisor, more like he’s ordering people now. Yet, when it’s rush hour, he would come to help making drinks and stuff. He loved his job; it was fun knowing a lot of type of people. People tended to get honest when they’re drunk after all.

“I’m so hungry, I can’t wait to eat Jae’s amazing cooking,” Yunho said as they crossed the last junction before they reached their place. Yoochun agreed as they went inside and board a lift. They’re still living in Yunho’s place but they bought another unit next to it to expand the place. Now, it’s so huge and enough to do almost everything, including having home office for the two youngest one.

“I told you to raise the discount to fifty percent! We need to make people play our games more in this holiday season, hyung!” Changmin’s voice caught their ears when they got inside.

“But we will lose the profit! I know you’re saying it’s for better profit in the future but I just can’t see the logic,” Junsu fought back. Like usual, the bickering was still going on. But at least they’re bickering about something useful now. Junsu made his own online game server with Changmin’s help. The youngest one was still playing with the stock number that’s why he had mostly free time.

“We’re home,” Yunho announced,” Is the food ready?”

“Give me ten minutes; I just got home half an hour ago. The restaurant is hectic today, luckily I have people to fill for me,” Jaejoong’s voice echoed from the kitchen. Jaejoong was working as chef now since he cooked like God of Cookery; he might use his gift, he said.

“I’m going to take a bath,” Yoochun spoke and left Yunho. Yunho did the same using another bathroom and he somehow finished faster than he usually did; maybe because he didn’t do martial arts and dancing steps between his shower. Yunho was starving.

Junsu and Changmin were helping Jaejoong to set the table when Yunho came back to the dining room. Yoochun was yawning on the table but no one dared to comment. They had once had this angry Yoochun because his sleep was disturbed and it was so not good.

“Is your server crowded today?” Yunho asked.

“Not really, people are celebrating Christmas Eve,” Changmin answered,” But it’s a perfect time to add more discount to the product but Junsu hyung just won’t get it.”

“I trust your brain, Min, really. But I just need to understand the logic behind the decision because this game is my life. I finally make something that can change the world!” Junsu spoke excitedly.

“More accurately I made your ideas into reality, hyung,” Changmin corrected.

“Fine, but I made all of our identity reality so you can have stock officially in government record,” Junsu defended back. The rest of the just sighed; it was true though they got their identity thanks to Junsu’s somehow amazing smuggling skill. He could even make fake credit card but they didn’t want it. Junsu had known too many ways to survive economically without doing anything; thanks to his century’s experience. Yoochun had to agree beneath those innocent facades, Junsu wasn’t that innocent.

“And we’re done, let’s eat!” Jaejoong spoke when they finished but before they could start, Yunho stopped them.

“Wait, don’t touch the food, yet. Look here,” Yunho got his phone our and snapped a picture of all of them. He wanted to make the moment forever and he had been taking pictures a lot lately, mostly the five of them.

“Can I eat now?” Changmin demanded as Yunho nodded. The youngest dug in the first as the rest of them followed. Jaejoong’s cook was amazing as always, they just couldn’t get enough of it. They finished faster than they thought because all of them were that hungry. It was then they realized it was right midnight. Then they sat down on the balcony as they watched the city fireworks.

“I wish this year we will have more players!” Junsu suddenly spoke as he clapped his hand.

“Hyung, you supposed to not tell your New Year wish,” Changmin said.

“I wish these two will stop bickering or my ears will go deaf,” Jaejoong spoke up suddenly. Junsu and Changmin watched their hyung in disbelief.

“I wish I can sleep more this year,” Yoochun said as he got a light smack from Junsu and Jaejoong.

“I wish the criminal rates come down. What you’re wishing for Min?” Yunho asked the youngest one.

“Me?” Changmin’s answer came a little faster than the others,” Just for us to stay together like this…”

“Awww, our Minnie is getting all sentimental,” Jaejoong put his arm around the youngest one and Changmin protested.

“I’m going to join since it’s rare we can hug our Minnie,” Junsu spoke as he joined the hug. Yoochun lazily joined and Yunho secured all of them in his arm. They might look like bunch of drunken people hugging in their own balcony if someone paid attention to them. They didn’t care though.

“Yaaa! I can’t breathe!” Changmin protested as he broke off the group hug. Jaejoong was pouting and Junsu was cursing about how strong Changmin had become. It had to be the food’s fault; this food monster ate too much.

“Happy New Year, guys,” Yunho was the first one to say it and the rest followed,” Thanks for being my family this year. I’ll look forward to the future with all of us in it.”

“Can I have Chunnie back? Minnie is getting rougher these days,” Junsu joked as he got an elbow on his shoulder,” See?”

“I won’t go anywhere, Su. But you two do belong together,” Yoochun pointed to Junsu and Changmin.

“I can’t agree more,” Jaejoong joined.

“I’m done, I’m out of her---“ Changmin couldn’t finish as he couldn’t escape from the balcony. Junsu practically pulled him and sat on top of him. Jaejoong was tickling him and Yunho closed the balcony door. Yoochun just laughed at everything.

They really looked like bunch of drunken people; more like crazy people but it was okay. They’re happy and they had each other now. They had their freedom and nothing would stop them from achieving what they wanted in this life; their second chance.

It was true they had sinned but they had sacrifice more than enough. It’s time for them to really live their life just for their own self. Their souls finally found their salvation and they knew this was just the beginning of the new chapter in their life.

P.S. Thanks for all the support though this fic. Apparently, this fic is a lil bit more trickier to write than my expectation and that how the hiatus here and there started. Anyway, it's finished now, yeyyyyyyyy. No sequel or prequel plan so far but who knows in the future. I have tons of other fic plot tickling my mind right now. I might write them but no promise LOL.
