From a distance, you could hear barking of dogs. Fear instantly came over you. Puppies made you coo and feel fluffy, but full grown dogs made you cower. It was due to an experience you had as a child when you accidentally kicked a rock near a dog and it began to chase you.
"Why did I let Lizzy talk me into buying our snacks alone? Why didn't I tell her to meet me at the store? It's not like it's far from our apartment! I came from school. She should be making me feel relaxed, not the other way around. Stupid me, " you mentally hit yourself, "How could I forget there are dogs in this neighborhood?"
In order to get home before the sun sets, you have to pass through the way where the barking noises were from. You began to walk home slowly, because you terribly hoped for the dogs to disappear to somewhere else.
"Dogs are just grown up versions of puppies like how adults are grown up versions of babies," you were trying to be logical, "There is no need to be afraid."
Minutes later, the barking could be heard nowhere. Somehow, this made you more uncomfortable and cautious. It made you paranoid, believing the dogs would attack you when your guard was down.
"God, please watch over me," you prayed aloud, eyes closed.
Seconds later, another figure had enveloped you in a back hug, with their chin resting on the top of your head.
"You really need to get your fear of dogs fixed," you were especially familiar with that voice
"Wonwoo,"
"I was hoping you'd say babe."
He let you out of his embrace, but he placed himself beside you with one of his hands on your waist.
"Babe," you mumbled
"What'd ya say?" he lowered his head to your level
"Babe," you repeated
"Better,
