Dimmed Cafe
Diamond Life | Limited Slots for Requests | Read last chapter. The whole week had been exhausting due to examinations left and right. Throughout the whole time, you were thinking you were more than ready to graduate from Yonsei University. You even thought of dropping some classes because you feel like you failed the exam for it. Physically and mentally drained was the best way to describe your current condition. However, your ever so lovely friends always tried to keep you up.
“It's Saturday night! Let's go out somewhere,” Kim suggested
“Where to?” Jinah asked
“I'm not in the mood,”
“It won't be tiring, I promise,” Kim insisted
“Where to?” repeated Jinah
“To a recently opened music cafe nearby. We will just relax. Buy some drinks and maybe dessert. Listen to good music, be with each other,”
“I'm in,” chirped Jinah
“Sounds soothing, I'm in too,”
“Yes!” exclaimed Kim
“Are we going right now? This instant?”
“I'll head home first to change,” Jinah replied
“I'll take you,” offered Kim
“Her house is next door,” you laughed
You could see where things were going between your two best friends. Sooner or later, you were going to be the third wheel.
“Well, it is still a walk,” defended Kim
“Alright. I'll change too,” you stood up, “But Jinah, please don't take an hour to get ready,” you pleaded
“I won't. Ten minutes max,” she promised
“You,” you pointed at Kim, “time her,”
“Yes maam,” he saluted
“Go on. Go get ready,” you shooed them away.
After exactly ten minutes, the two returned to your house. You could hear Jinah giggling, probably at some ridiculously corny pun Kim made. Before they could knock at your door, you opened it.
“Let's go,” you said as you stepped out
“You're ready already,” Jinah said
“Why do you sound so surprised?” you asked while locking the main door
“You is always the first one to get ready first and even if she isn't, she still finishes first,”
“I'm low maintenance.”
“But you're still so pretty,” commented Jinah as she clung to your arm
“You always were the type with flattery words,”
“Hey, I mean it,” she poked you
You kept quiet. It's not that you didn't believe Jinah thinks you're pretty. It's just you didn't know how to take or reply to a compliment.
“She knows you do. She's just shy,” Kim said
“You driving or am I?” you stopped in front of your parents' car
“I will. I know you had a long day,” Kim answered
“You sit up front,” you told Jinah.
You knew how Kim liked having Jinah by his side and you didn't mind. How could you even get in the way of the happiness of your brother, who is also your best friend?
“Is that okay?”
“I'll nap,”
“It's only a ten minute drive,” Kim informed you
“Still,” you shrugged your shoulders.
You woke up to Jinah softly shaking you.
“Good morning, sleepy head,” she giggled, “We're here.”
You let out a yawn and stretched as you vacated the car.
“How ladylike,” teased Kim
“Eh,” you shot him a look
“Kim,” Jinah elbowed him
“Just kidding,” he did a peace sign
“Let's just go.”
Kim lead the way to the entrance of the cafe with you and Jinah trailing behind.
“It looks so hipster,” Jinah commented
“Ladies,” Kim said while holding the door open
“Thank you,” you and Jinah chorused.
As you entered the cafe, your heart began to thump like no other. Your eyes locked with the performer on stage. Everything about the cafe made your he
