‘Hi, you’re really cute and I’ve been here 5 times in the span of a week and you’re just really cute and here’s my number and it would be really nice to hang out and yeah, you’re really, really cute.’

Did someone just try to hit on Jihoo-

‘E-Excuse me?’

Seungcheol glares at the two girls standing behind the cashier counter, one blushing, pushing a piece of paper towards a flustered Jihoon while the other encourages her friend.

What the fuc-

‘My friend just really likes you, okay?’ The girl rolls her eyes, shoving her friend forward before turning away, ‘Just go out with each other or something.’

She did not jus-

‘I-I’m sorry but-‘ Jihoon gulps, scratching his head as he prays for the girl to go away on her own. First of all, he isn’t even interested in girls to start with; she’s cute, she really is, it’s just that Jihoon had already filled up that space in his heart with someone.

‘Just one date, please?’ The girl pleads, staring at Jihoon with big puppy eyes and Jihoon just doesn’t have the heart to reject her-

‘Excuse me, are you going to order or not?’

Seungcheol?!

‘Hyun-‘

‘The last time I checked, this is a cafe, not a dating website.’ Seungcheol smirks, flashing a cheeky smile at the girl before swinging his arm around Jihoon’s shoulder, pulling the male close. ‘And the person you’re asking out right now is my boyfriend.’

Wha-

‘You guys are what?!’ As if they had expected it, the remaining 11 staffs stop in their workplace, focusing on the two cashiers.

Oh crap, I forgot they’re still here-

‘Choi Seungcheol, Lee Jihoon, get back here, now!’

Ah, god dammit, Junghan.

‘What do you mean he’s your boyfriend?!’ Junghan’s voice could be heard two streets away, shocked and betrayed. ‘Lee Jihoon, when the hell were you going to tell me?! Were you even going to tell me at all?!’

‘Hyung… It’s not even true-‘

‘I can’t believe it, how could you have possible hid this away from me?!’ Junghan throws his arms in the air, full of disbelief. ‘We’ve been friends for like, the longest time ever, and you couldn’t even tell me who you’re dating?! How could you-‘

‘Stop!’

‘I-I mean, stop?’ Jihoon quickly changes his tone of voice, scanning Junghan’s expression as he tries to calm the other down. ‘And hyung, we’re not even datin-‘

‘Sorry Junghan, we were going to tell at lunch break anyways~’

Wait what-

‘Wha-‘

‘Anyways, see you guys after lunch~’

And with that, a flustered Jihoon is dragged outside by Seungcheol, leaving the rest of the boys confused.

‘Seungcheol, where are we even goin-‘

‘Shush.’

???

Twenty minutes had already passed by and Jihoon is still following Seungcheol around aimlessly, Seungcheol’s grip still tight around the younger’s wrist; Jihoon doesn’t even know what to be angry about, the fact that Seungcheol had just lied about their… Their friendship, or the fact that he’s wasting Jihoon’s lunch break.

‘If you’re going to pull me around any longer with an empty stomach, I swear I’ll k-‘

‘Jihoon.’

The older had suddenly halted in his steps, turning around completely to face the smaller male as he moves his hands, placing them firmly onto the other’s shoulders.

‘W-What?’ Jihoon gulps, frozen in his spot as he averts his eyes elsewhere, anywhere to avoid Seungcheol’s piercing gaze.

‘What is it-‘ Jihoon lost his patience, lifting his head up to lecture Seungcheol about wasting time and how Jihoon’s way too hungry to argue now and how-

‘Lee Jihoon.’

Crap.

Seungcheol’s hands quickly hold on to the younger’s cheeks, keeping his head still as he smiles cheekily, leaning down slightly to close the gap between them.

‘Old tricks really do work on you, huh?~’ Between Seungcheol’s deep chuckle and playful tone, Jihoon’s heart skips a beat.

It is only now that JIhoon realizes how well Seungcheol knows him; Seungcheol knows he would lose his patience, he knows Jihoon would look up, he knows how Jihoon would act. And for a second, Jihoon wonders if the other knows about how he feels.

’S-Shut up…’ Jihoon mumbles shyly, trying to turn away and hide his pink cheeks.

‘Jihoon-ah.’

‘Hm?’ Jihoon stops struggling, giving up as he realizes that Seungcheol’s way stronger than him and there really isn’t any point to try and break free. Instead, the pink haired boy averts all his attention back to the male in front of him, trying hard to maintain his cool (because let’s be honest here, how the hell can you act ‘cool’ in front of Choi Seungcheol?!)

‘I know you’re going to be mad about me lying about… About us.’ Seungcheol starts, sighing and Jihoon heart sinks, ready to tell the other that it’s not true (even though it kinda is.) ‘I know you’re mad I’m wasting your lunch break, I know you’re mad and I’m really sorry.’

The sincerity in Seungcheol’s voice surprises Jihoon, the latter only realizing now that wow, he’s actually serious.

‘Seungche-‘

‘But Jihoon…’ Seungcheol cuts in, not letting the other speak. ‘Just listen to me. I know you probably want to kill me right now for telling Junghan we’re together and I’m really sorry, I just…’

‘You just…?’ Jihoon asks bluntly, gesturing for the other the continue.

Taking in a deep breath, Seungcheol removes his hands from the younger’s face before fiddling with his fingers.

‘I don’t know if you’re just really dense (‘Hey!’) or if you’re acting like you don’t know on purpose, but…’ Seungcheol lets out a sigh, looking away from his fingers and back at Jihoon. ‘I like you.’

What?!

‘I…’ Seungcheol panics, having a mental breakdown when he sees Jihoon standing there, frozen and emotionless. ‘I know you don’t feel the same, I just… I just wanted to get it out… But hey, I really hope this doesn’t change our friendship-‘

‘Shut up and hold my hand.’

???

‘W-What? Jihoon y-‘

‘Urgh. Who’s the dense one now?!’ Jihoon groans, entertwining their fingers as he tugs onto the older’s hand, walking in the direction of the cafe. 

(And even though Jihoon has his head down, Seungcheol knows the kid’s cheeks are pinker than his hair.)

‘Jihoon?’

The two had took the long road back, taking more than 30 minutes since Jihoon at remembering street names and Seungcheol’s too nice to hurt the kid’s pride. The 30 minutes walk was silent and none of them bothered to do anything about it; their heads were filled with worries and confusion for each other, but we all know that the only thing they should be worried about now is facing Junghan’s wrath for being late.

‘Jiho-‘

‘Hyung.’ It’s the first time Jihoon opens his mouth during the painfully long walk and Seungcheol couldn’t help but stop, all eyes and ears on Jihoon.

‘Yea?’

‘I…’ Jihoon mumbles and Seungcheol can feel the younger tightening his hold on Seungcheol’s hand. 

Deciding that it’s too hard to say while facing the older, Jihoon tugs onto the Seungcheol’s hand again, pulling the other forward and Seungcheol smiles, as if he had read the younger’s mind and continued walking.

The two spent another dreadful walk, hands still tightly held together and even though the words never left Jihoon’s lips, it was more than enough for Seungcheol to understand.
