‘Hong Jisoo! Get back here right now!’

‘Catch me if you can~’

Jogging behind a sprinting Jisoo, Junghan lets out short breaths as he tries to catch up with the other. Despite the sweat running down his forehead, Jisoo continues running, waving around what happens to be Junghan’s phone.

‘C’mon! You’re gonna drop it-‘

Thud.

Well, crap.

‘Hong Jisoo, I’m going to kill you!’

‘Sh-‘

Jisoo scrambles to the floor, picking up the luckily unharmed phone and dashing forwards; letting out a relief sigh, Jisoo swears he felt his heart dropping along with the phone. Turning his neck slightly, Jisoo catches a glimpse of a panting Junghan, hair sticking to his forehead and exhausted, ready to stop. With a small smile, Jisoo stops in his path and turns to face the other; Junghan had already stopped running, instead opting to the option of dragging his own legs up the slightly steep road.

‘Hong… Ji… Soo…’ Junghan takes in deep breaths in between his words, ‘You’re… Dead… When… I… Get… To-‘

‘Shush~’ 

‘W-‘

Junghan freezes in his spot; hands prop up against his knees and back hunched over, it really isn’t his best state, Junghan wouldn’t even want any of the kids to see him this way. Hair messily sticking to his forehead, Junghan’s sure it’s greasy as hell now and even he himself wouldn’t touch it.

Don’t fckin’ touch me-

‘Tired already?~’

Being the oblivious kid he’d always been, Jisoo places his hand onto Junghan’s head, patting it gently as he leans closer (Get away, get away, I stink right now!).

‘J-Jiso-‘

‘You’re really…’ Jisoo pauses and Junghan had never felt more embarrassed before (It’s because I stink, isn’t it?!) ‘Really hot.’

Wait what-

‘Wait no wait-‘

‘I’m what?!’ Junghan stares at Jisoo, now a metre away from the long haired male; the blush on Jisoo’s cheeks are obvious and Junghan swears Jisoo’s the cutest when he panics.

‘I-I mean- Um- I-‘ Jisoo groans in frustration, unable to come up with an excuse fast enough. ‘I-I-‘

‘It’s okay,’ Jisoo stops talking when he feels a hand on his wrist, making all his muscles stop. ‘I know it’s a joke-‘

‘But it’s not a joke.’ 

This time it’s Junghan’s turn to get shocked; Jisoo had managed to remove Junghan’s hand from his wrist, placing his own hands firmly onto Junghan’s shoulders to keep the male from turning away.

‘I wasn’t joking.’ Junghan gulps at the sudden change in tone. ‘You really are ho-‘

‘Hah!’

???

Jisoo stares at the other in confusion because c’mon, the good part hasn’t even started yet!

‘Ihihihihi~ Never let your guard down, Hong Jisoo~’

Wait wha-

‘Your phone!’ Jisoo exclaims in realisation, finally understanding the situation; while Jisoo was immersed in his ‘cool guy’ act, Junghan had already snatched his phone back, thanking God that it isn’t smashed into pieces.

‘Ehehe, bye bye, er~’

‘Oi you!’

And the chase begins again, this time with Jisoo chasing after Junghan like a hungry predator following his prey. It may have been hard for Junghan to catch up with Jisoo before, but there is no reason for anyone to underestimate Junghan because the kid can sure run.

‘Ah… Junghan…’ Jisoo heaves through his breaths, ‘Get… Back… Here…’

‘Hah! You know how I felt before now~’ Junghan laughs loudly, stopping in his track as he turns to look at a sweaty Jisoo.

‘Yeah… Yeah…’ Jisoo sighs, waving his arm around to sign defeat. ‘Let’s stop running now, yeah?…’

Junghan chuckles, nodding in agreement as he jogs towards Jisoo. Patting the other’s back gently, Junghan leans down to Jisoo’s eye level; with his back hunched over, Jisoo really wasn’t expecting a red faced, heavy breathing Junghan to come to view.

‘You okay?’

Jisoo gulps, biting onto his bottom lip as his eyes trail down the features on Junghan’s face. The double lidded eyes that always manage to make Jisoo’s heart skip a beat, the pointy nose that defines the other’s face so well and lastly, those ing lips.

Jisoo doesn’t swear but man, those lips are the only thing that can get him doing things he doesn’t normally do. Those pink, cherry lips are always puckering, as if they’re telling Jisoo to do something he knows he’ll regret.

‘Jisoo?’

All Jisoo sees now are Junghan’s lips, the temptation to lean in is way too strong and Jisoo’s trying his best to stay seated. Jisoo doesn’t even know how obvious he’s being until he feels his own tongue sliding along his bottom lip, copying what Junghan’s doing-

‘J-‘

As if time had just been froze, the two boys stop breathing at once.

What the-

Lips against lips, the two boys stare at each other in silent, eyes still wide open as the shock has still not worn off. As if a switch had just been flipped, Jisoo backs away almost violently, surprising the other. From the sudden action, Junghan stumbles backwards, tripping over his own leg and if it isn’t for Jisoo’s fast reaction, Junghan would’ve end up on the floor by now.

Pulling Junghan up by his hand, Jisoo straightens his back as he lets out an awkward cough, not knowing what to say.

‘I-‘ Junghan starts, the awkward silent unbearable for him. He tries coming up with something suitable to say in such situations but who is Junghan kidding, when had he ever been kissed like this before?

Letting out a small sigh, Jisoo glances to Junghan’s face and for a moment there, Jisoo thought he saw an angel. Junghan is almost glistening under the street lamp, illuminating in Jisoo’s eyes and the pink flush on his face just adds a touch of life into him. Taking in a deep breath, Jisoo tightens his hold on Junghan’s hand before tugging at it slightly.

‘L-Let’s get you home now, shall we?’ Jisoo tries his best not to act like a complete idiot, cracking a small smile that he’s sure came out wayyyy more awkward than he’d wanted.

‘Ah…’ Junghan hangs his head low, trying to hide his smile and flushing face. ‘Y-Yeah… Let’s go.’

And if it wasn’t their first kiss, they wouldn’t have been this awkward about it.
