[Heechul's POV]

I woke up from my short nap. I shuffled my hair looking around the cabin. “Jasmine-ah~” No answer.

“Jasmine-ah~~~” I called her name once again but for the second time, there was no response. So I stood up from the bed and started searching for her. I went upstairs but she’s not there. I tried the bathroom but she’s also not there. I went outside the cabin and it’s starting to dark.

“Aish. Where’s that genie?? It’ll get dark soon.” I took my jacket and decided to walk into the woods to look for her.

“Jasmine-ah~ Heebum-ssi! Yah! Where are you?!” I angrily shouted their names. “Those two! Where are they?! Yaish!!!!!!!!!!!” I stomped while dragging my feet towards the dark woods carrying a flashlight with me.

[Jasmine’s POV]

“Queen Saeri~ I’m your humble genie, Haneul. I am here to ask for an audience. I need your help your Majesty.” I’m in the middle of the woods, not far from the falls and I’m asking for an audience from our Queen. I haven’t done this in a long time so I’m quite nervous if she’ll grant me an audience.

“Oh. It’s getting dark now. Master Heechul might be looking for me now. Oh please Queen Saeri. Please answer my call.” I rubbed my palms together while looking at the sky. I’ve been here for almost two hours now.

“I guess the queen won’t meet me.” With a sigh of frustration, I turned around to go back to the cabin where my Master is when I heard a thud behind me. I looked back and saw thick smoke covering someone. I coughed when the smoke got through my nose and my eyes are squinting because of it too.

“Who’s there?” I asked when I saw a figure from the smoke and heard someone coughed. “Queen Saeri?” I moved closer to the figure and the smoke is slowly fading. When the smoke was completely out, I felt a mixture of disappointment and happiness to see the person who just appeared.

“Shindong oppa~!” I squealed.

“Oh. Annyeong Haneul~!” He greeted me with a smile.

“What are you doing here?” I asked him. I still can’t believe that he’s the one who appeared in front of me.

“Oh yes.  That. Queen Saeri is really busy right now so she can’t come and see you so she asked me to meet you in her behalf.” Shindong oppa explained. He is the royal right hand of the Queen and her son. Shindong oppa was also my mentor when I was still in the academy for genies. So I can say that I’m pretty close with him.

“I see.” I nodded.

“So Haneul, what’s your question for the queen?”

“Well... It’s about my Master.” I started. I don’t know how to ask without feeling nervous.

“Oh. About Kim Heechul-ssi?”

“A-aniyo. It’s about... Ahm... my past Master. Kyuhyun oppa.” I said, looking at my feet and fiddling with my hands. I really can’t look at Shindong oppa in the eyes ‘coz I know that the subject is quite delicate. As expected, he became silent. I looked up and saw his eyes are opened widely but as soon as he met my eyes, he blinked and tried to regain composure.

“Haneul.” He started with a serious tone. “Your past relationship with Kyuhyun-ssi is a delicate matter. And you know that.” He sternly continued.

“But-“ my eyes are starting to well up with tears. I wanted to say something but he cut me out.

“I don’t know how you remembered him and if I can, I would answer your questions about him but I am not in the right position to reveal everything to you.” He’s face grew more serious than before.

By this time, I couldn’t stop my tears from rolling out of my eyes. I wanted to ask why it is forbidden for masters and genies to wish for their happiness. I wanted to ask why it is so unfair for me and Kyuhyun oppa to not be together when in fact we seriously love each other. And now, when I finally remembered him and we’ve met again, why can’t I reveal myself to him? I want him to remember me too. Kyuhyun oppa....

My sobs became louder and I felt like this time I’m releasing all my sad feeling from my heart. I felt Shindong oppa hugged me, comforting me with his words. “I’m sorry Haneul. Everything will turn out good soon. You just have to wait.” I kept on nodding while my face is still buried from his chest. Then I heard Shindong oppa gasp. I looked up and saw his eyes are fixed on something or someone from my back. I pulled away from his embrace and was shocked to see him.

“Prince Sungmin.” I said, bowing to the person in front of me.

“Shindong. I’ll take it from here.” He said to Shindong oppa and with one last embrace from him, he disappeared.

“Haneul, it’s been a long time.” Prince Sungmin said as he walks closer to me.

“Yes, Your Highness.” I said with the same courteous way when I greeted him when he arrived.

“Haneul-ah. You don’t have to be that polite. You can call me oppa. Just like before.” The serious atmosphere earlier faded and that made me relaxed a bit.

“As you wish. Sungmin oppa.” We smiled at each other and he hugged me.

“Ah~ I missed you Haneul. My little sister.”

“I missed you too oppa.” He tightened our hug which made me really comfortable. I missed him. Sungmin oppa is not my biological brother but he treats me as his younger sister. I am an orphan. We met in a park and we immediately became close so he brought me to the palace. He and Queen Saeri treated me as their blood relative so I am very grateful to them.

“Sungmin oppa. I...”

“I know. It’s about Kyuhyun.” He said with coolness. I nodded.

“I’m with him again since three months ago.”

“What? You two met again? How was he? Did he remember you? How about me? Does he have any idea that I was his genie before?” I bombarded him with questions and Sungmin oppa just kept listening to me until I finished.

“Haneu-ah~ Yes. He remembers me. He’s also fine. He keeps on talking about this girl that he met recently and a dream. And I’m guessing it’s you.” He said calmly.

“Really??” A wide smile appeared to my face. What Sungmin oppa gave me hope that I can soon be with Kyuhyun oppa.

“Yes. But Haneul.” Suddenly Sungmin oppa’s voice became low. “Your dream future with Kyuhyun will only be decided when your current master says his wish.”

“I- I think I’m aware of that condition.” I said to him. Honestly, I’m feeling something about that when the new year came. I know that genies must fulfil their master’s three wishes six months as the latest. But just like when I was Kyuhyun oppa’s genie, Master Heechul haven’t given me his last wish.

“I thought so too.” Sungmin oppa said.

“So... I gues... It’s up to Master Heechul now?” I looked at Sungmin oppa,examining his face for confirmation and when he nodded. That’s when I got my answer.

[Sungmin’s POV]

“If Heechul chose to give you his last wish, then you can have what you’ve always wanted, Haneul.” I thought as I look at her endearing face.
