People know Seulgi was a person who smiled regardless of what circumstance she was in.

She was embarrassed.

She was punched.

She was lost.

Those lips still wore the same bright smile reached those crescent shaped eyes.

She was patient, a very understanding friend and girlfriend.

One would think she would have no fuse.

But she has.

She is still human after all.

Seulgi sat on the dorm couch, staring at the scene before her. You could see tears but they weren’t falling. A sad smile appeared on her lips as she closed her eyes.

She has had enough.

She thinks she has.

She had been patient about it.

But nothing changed.

It had become some sort of regularity for Irene, disregarding Seulgi’s feelings.

She decides to keep her silence a little longer.

Looking up, Wendy appeared from their room still unaware of the change of mood. She forced a smile as her best friend asked what she wanted.

It was something endearing about Wendy.

To always think about her

To always take care of her

Unlike a person she hardly remembered now.

Unlike a person she hardly had time to be with.

“I’ll be leaving Wendy-ah…”

“But you’re sick…” Her best friend replied walking towards her.

She smiled as those gentle hands tried to check her temperature and her back. She missed having to worry less and just be free.

Freedom

Maybe that was what she needed.

“I’ll just visit the company. I need to get some air and dance.”

“Again… You’re sick.”

“I’ll be fine, please Wendy-ah…”

“Irene-Unnie would not approve of it. Please just get some rest…”

With those words, Irene had entered the dorm with that silly smile on her face.

A smile Seulgi didn’t want to see anymore.

For now, she hopes. She doesn’t want to break up the band just because of a love the failed.

“What’s going on?” The older girl asked obviously waiting for Seulgi to give her the usual hug.

A hug she can’t give anymore.

She smiled and walked passed the two, leaving Irene and Wendy dumbfounded with her actions.

She walked inside the familiar practice room and sat in the middle of it all. Her eyes dart toward the mirror in front of her.

Her eyes were bloodshot even though she had stopped herself from crying.

Her chest was in pain.

Worse than the flu she has.

“Dreaming again, Kang Seulgi?”

She looked up to find her ex-girlfriend smiling back at her. It has been years and they hardly had the chance to talk. But then, Krystal was always so mature, Seulgi couldn’t keep up.

It was one reason they had to break up.

Something she never told Krystal.

Seulgi wasn’t slow, but her lack of attention tends to show. Her responses vary from witty to downright weird. Something she thinks embarrasses people around her.

“Don’t tell me you’re contemplating on breaking up with Irene-Unnie…”

Seulgi frowned and wondered how the youngest Jung could even think about that.

Was there something on her face?

Her questions didn’t have to be asked.

“You look the same way, that thing on your eyes, when you decided to break up with me.”

“…That thing?” She asked unsure.

“Your eyes don’t shine as bright when you smile…”

Seulgi smiled at how exact Krystal was. She doesn’t know it herself. What she does know is that, her heart doesn’t feel as happy like it used to.

“Promise me something though.”

“What?”

“If you do break up with her, let her know why? At least give her a chance to choose to fight for you and try to fix things she did to hurt you. It’s better than just saying the words then not looking back.”

“Seulgi?” Irene got to the company’s practice room.

She was surprised how far apart Krystal and Seulgi were. She would have thought the two were sitting close to each other by now. The 94 liners were still friends. Jealousy was one of her weaknesses but she wasn’t going to upset her girlfriend over something so trivial.

Seulgi loves her.

“See you around Seulgi-ah… Have a nice day Irene-Unnie…” Krystal bowed and left the couple by their lonesome.

Irene closed the door and walked over to her girlfriend who was now standing up.

She reaches the hand she loved to hold, only to feel it has gone cold.

Placing her hand on Seulgi’s forehead, she finds that her girlfriend still had fever.

She should have gone sooner.

“Let’s go home. You still have fever. You should have not gone out of bed.”

“Stop…” Seulgi didn’t move.

Irene found herself wondering how weak the voice was. The tone was nothing she has heard before.

“We need to talk…”

“When we get home… We can talk while you’re lying comfortably in bed with a blanket.” Irene pulled her bear into a hug but was then denied of it.

“We have to talk alone. I don’t want to have them worried.”

“Well I’m starting to worry…” She pursed her lips anticipating the worse from Seulgi.
