Pie’s POV

I just finished cleaning my room, I also helped mom and dad move some stuffs in the house. We’re going to have dinner with our neighbour. I just really hope that they are friendly and kind. I fix my hair and went down the stairs. Mom is packing the dish that she cooked for the dinner.

“Sweetheart, you’re so beautiful. It’s like we’re going to meet your boyfriend’s family”, Dad said while staring at me.

“Ughh. Dad”, I grunted.

“oh, don’t mind your silly father Pie, You just look really good at that dress. “ Mom defended me.

I check myself again at the mirror, I’m wearing a blue dress. I’m brushing my hair until I realized something…

“ I will the meet the guy who’s always playing that loud rock music!” I exclaimed . Good thing mom and dad are in the kitchen so they didn’t here me. I wish I could ask him to make his radio low, it’s really disturbing.

“Everything is set, Let’s go Pie.”, We got out of the house and went to our neighbour

DING DONG

It doesn’t took long for a woman to get out of the door as she walk towards the gate

“Pie , remember to be polite and okay?”

“Mom, I’m a teenager now, of course I know how to show respect you don’t have to remind me”I whispered to my Mom

The woman finally opened the gate .

Good Evening Mr. and Mrs. Manaying. You have a very gorgeous daughter.” She greeted us warmly

“ Good Evening Mrs. Jitaleela” I bowed and smiled warmly

She lead us inside the big house. As we enter the house, I can’t help but to stare , the design and structure is very impressive. It looks a lot bigger than I thought, the space was well maximized. We went to their garden, there is a pool. In front of it is a long couch and a long table for bonfire. It feels like I’m in a 5 star hotel.  

“You have a very beautiful home Mr. Jitaleeala, you must have hired a very good Architect and Engineer for this”, My dad commented

“ Thank you, well actually I didn’t hire a professional for this, my son designed and planned this.”, Mr. Jiteleela proudly say

“ Pie, I would like you to meet my daughter” Mrs Jitaleela warmly said

“ HI Pie, I’m Fern.”, the girl said happily. I smiled. I think we’re on the same age.

“hi, Fern “

“You wanna grab some ice cream? We have some in our fridge”, She said

“Sure, thanks’’ I smiled

“ Finally! Someone who loves ice cream” she squealed

“ She quickly went to their kitchen and grab some

I think we’re going to be good friends

Back to the house, it is really beautiful. From what I’ve heard, their son did this. Maybe it’s the guy with the rock music.

Fern came back smiling with two ice creams.

We chatted happily while our parents are doing the same. I’ve found out that we are going to the same school and guess what, we have the same course. Isn’t that great.

“ I really hope that we’ll be going to the same class”, she happily exclaimed.

“ me too” I excitedly said

“ I’m so glad that we met. It’s really lonely without someone to chat with”, she said

“Why? You have a brother right?”, I ask her

“She looked at me like I said something very shocking”

“Oh yeah , I have a Brother”, she smirked

“What’s his name?’’ I curiously ask

” Kim” she said as she munch some ice cream

“Is he studying in the university too?”, I ask

“ Yeah, she’s a third year Engineering student”

“She?”, I look at her

“ yeah, my brother is a she”, she casually said

“He’s gay?”, I ask

“ HAHA. No silly, she’s a tom”, she laugh hardly

“ohh. “ that’s the only thing the left my mouth

‘’ But guess what, many girls are heard over heels on her”

“Really? Why?’’ I ask again

“You’ll find out soon” she smirked

I just brush it off and continue eating my icecream

“ Kim, you’re finally here” , Mrs Jitaleela exclaimed

 My eyes went to the door. I accidentally drop my spoon as I Stare at the Handsome creature walk towards us. Wearing a long sleeve polo and holding a canister. I think I’m drooling right now, literally.

“ We should go to the dining area now. I heard Mr. JItaleela. But I can’t move a muscle , seems like I’m on a state of shock , stunned.

“ I told you sooo”, Fern giggled and drag me to the dining area.

I sat beside Fern. He , I mean she is sitting infront of me. Damn.

“Pie, sweetheart are you aright? Your cheeks are red”, my dad worriedly ask.

She then look at me. Her eyes are sharp but it looks good on her

“ Seems like someone here is getting conscious”, my Mom said which made everyone laugh. Well except for me and the handsome creature. She just smile .

“oh, sweetheart. Is it because of Kim??’, Mrs. Jitaleela ask.

“uh.. no no. Its just hot here”, I stuttered as I try to make an alibi

“It’s ok Pie. Kim gets that a lot”, Fern butted in

“Wait, is she the one who designed this lovely home”, dad suddenly ask

“ Yup”, Mr. Jitaleela  proudly said

“ You’re very good Kim. “ Dad complemented her.

“Thank you sir” she smiled

‘’ But you seemed to young to be an engineer “, my dad joked

“ Well , actually Sir, I’m still studying.”, she replied. She looks really decent and well mannered

“ really? Then why are you bringing some blueprints. It’s vacation right?” there It goes, my dad is starting to be talkative now. He’s being like that when he gets comfortable with someone.

‘’ We are going to have a defence for some European investors. If they got satisfied with our project, they might as well bid for the plan. “ , she politely said

“Wow. You’re parents sure are so proud of you”, Dad sincerely said.

“ we are”, Mr and Mrs Jitaleela smiled.

I unconsciously smiled and stare at her. She bowed to my father and look at me. I didn’t notice that I’m still staring at her with a smile crept in my face. She looked at me in the eye. She smiled and wink then continue eating.

MY MIND WAS BLOWN WITH WHAT SHE DID.

TUGTUG..TUGTUTG…TUGTUG..

I Can feel how my heart is beating. It’s very loud and fast. I can’t properly eat during the dinner.

After an hour, my parents decided to bid goodbye to the Jitaleelas.

“ We would like to thank you guys for accommodating us here at your lovely Home”, Mrs. Jitaleela hug my mother

“we’re looking forward to have you guys here again”, My dad and Mr. Jitaleela handshake, as well as Kim.

Our eyes met. It feels like we’re the only people inside the room. She smiled at me.

I was about to approach her when Fern suddenly hug me.

“Bye Pie. I hope we can be good friends”, she said. But my eyes are still on Kim

“ Yeah”, I replied.

We came back to our house.

“We had a great time tonight” Dad exclaimed

“Yeah, their family is so hospitable and warm.” Mom agreed

“and well mannered”, dad added

I sat on the couch while listening to their conversation.

“Especially that Kim. I really like that kid. So smart, polite and well mannered”, Dad really seemed to be fond of Kim

“And handsome, too handsome to think that she is a girl”, Mom said dreamily

“ do you find her handsome, Pie?” dad ask

“ Yes, I mean, I mean No I mean I.. I .. maybe??”, I was shock by that question that I Can’t even answer properly

“ Don’t worry Pie, if She dates you I will approve”,  dad really like K… Wait, WHAT??!
“Dad ! stop making things awkward okay?”, I told my dad

I went to my room , after brushing my teeth , I went to the window to see if she’s still awake. I could sight the she is talking with someone over the phone.

 She really is handsome. I remembered the dinner. The way she moves, she smile, she talk and look, EVERYTHING. It seems perfect.

“ Don’t worry Pie, if She dates you I will approve”,  I remember what dad have said. I never thought that Dad, is okay If this Tom dates me. I mean, not all families are open with these kind of things, The fact that Dad is so fond of her is really something. But would she date me?
