Taehyun woke up with the sound of his alarm clock. He checked his phone after killing the sound from his clock. Yup. It is

his birthday. He always got a surprise on his birthdays from his family or from Jinwoo. Taehyun smiled in anticipation. He 

wonders what kind of surprise Jinwoo might give him this time. He stretched out his arms and yawned. Taehyun got up and

carefully opened the door seperating his room from the living room. It was silent, just like every intro of a surprise. Taehyun

tiptoes towards the kitchen. He frowns because Jinwoo is nowhere to be found. Will Jinwoo jump out of nowhere? Or, Taehyun

frowns at the thought, Jinwoo forgot it was his birthday today. Taehyun sighs and knocked softly at Jinwoo's door but it was open.

Taehyun then proceeds inside, and finds that there is no Kim Jinwoo there inside. "Where is he?" Taehyun whispers to himself.

Taehyun sees a note (in a sky blue paper with cute stickers) plastered at Jinwoo's study table. "Sorry, Taehyunie. I can't

accompany you to school today. I got to go to Seungyoon's because I forgot my notebook there. See you at school." Taehyun

reads the note loudly. Taehyuns frown deepened. There's nothing there. Not even a 'Happy Birthday' with a cute drawing of

cakes and confetti below the note. Taehyun got out of the room and proceeds to the kitchen to get some cereals and milk for

breakfast, not in the mood to cook something decent for himself.

Jinwoo drags Seungyoon to school, earlier than the normal time students actually go to school. "Jinwoo, why are we walking

rather quickly to school? It's like one hour too early for this?" Seungyoon asks but Jinwo ignores his whines. "Just follow me.

I already called Mino and Seunghoon." Jinwoo says. When they finally arrved, Mino, Seunghoon and some others are already

there. Jinwoo smiles and greets them. "You must be Taehyun's friends, Chanhyuk and Soo Hyun?" Jiwoo asks the two 

younger ones. "Yes." Soo Hyun speaks out shyly. "Since everyone is gathered here, we all know that it's Taehyun's

birthday right? So heres the plan..." Jinwoo starts and the others listens intently with smiles and ideas.

Taehyun looked at Jinwoo, hopeful to hear even a ting 'Happy Birthday' from his friend but said friend might have really

forgotten his birthday because after Taehyun greets Jinwoo a 'Good Morning' and pointedly lingering a look that says 

'I think you forgot something important today' on his friend, Jinwoo just says a greeting back and turns to face Seunghoon

who's quite fascinated at a new game on his phone. Taehyun slumps on his chair and pouts till the end of time. And for

Taehyun, to make matters worse, Mino is nowhere to be found. Taehyun was quite fond of talking to Mino in early mornings 

since they became friends, may it be in the classroom or on phone. But no Mino in sight so Taehyun sulks in the corner.

The class starts and Taehyn is bored to death. Jinwoo seems to be enjoying himself with Seunghoon's little jokes and 

Seungyoon appears to do so too. Taehyun sighs and tries to listen to the teacher instead. Just then, just like the first day

of classes, Mino appears at the door, spurting out apologies for being late. Taehyun doesn't even try to hide his smile when

Mino awkwardly bows and scratches the back of his head apologetically. "Hi. Nice of you to show up." Taehyun says. It 

should sound snappy but it came out with a little bit of excitement. "Hello." Mino replies, putting down his bag. Taehyun's

eyes looked at a certain spot on Mino's hair. "What's that? You've got white powder on your hair." Taehyun asks and Mino

eyes him with a questioning look. "In your hair. Like umm.... flour?" Taehyun asks again and Mino's eyes went big like he

just realized something or did something to put him in trouble. The exchange caught Seunghoon's, Jinwoo's and Seungyoon's

attention. "Ah... I just.... this is..." Mino stutters and Jinwoo looks at him pointedly to let him know that he must not mess

it up.

Mino enters the coffee shop his cousin Dara owns. He finds her there at the counter speaking with Seungri about the sales 

and everything Mino thinks is for business. "Noona, I need your help." Mino says so fast it seems like his life depends on it.

"Oh, Mino. I thought you were at school now? What's the matter?" Dara asks, worriedly. Mino's distress call also caught 

Seungri's attention. "I need to learn how to bake a cake." Mino answers. Dara and Seungri looked at each other then to Mino.

"Why do you need to learn how to make a cake?" Seungri asks curiously. Mino sighs. "It's Taehyun's birhday. Jinwoo 

assigned me to the cake and I wanna make it myself." Mino pouts and both Seungri and Dara smiles. "I'll just call our

baker, yeah?" Seungri says and he enters the kitchen to find his Jiyong-hyung. 

It wasn't easy making a cake, Mino can admit. He may be good at drawing and things like that but making a cake is a whole

new level. By the time he finishes (and Jiyong really wants to say the cake is all to sloppy but hey, it was made with Mino's

thoughtfulness and Jiyong thinks that's what matters) he only got five minutes until he's officially late for school. He hugged

Dara, Seungri and Jiyong for their help and puts the finished cake where the bakers put their finished products. He shouts

a loud 'Goodbye! Thank you so much! See you later! before dashing off to school.

"I think I might have put a little bit too much of face powder this morning." Mino tries and you can tell the other three on the 

secret cringed at that. "Ohh, I see." Taehyun nods and he seems pretty convinced with what Mino said. Seunghoon

then turns to Jinwoo. "How on earth did Taehyun believed Mino's story?" He whispers and Jinwoo rolls his eyes but he's

smiling. "Maybe he's just too depressed that no one remembered his birthday. He always looks forward to surprises, you

know?" Jinwoo whispers back. "Are you sure we'll continue this though? He looks upset about us forgetting his birthday.

Especially you." Seungyoon asks. And Jinwoo just shrugs. "We have to stick to the plan." Jinwoo smiles. "It'll be the best

surprise he'd have."

Taehyun frowns again as he walked towards the hallway. Jinwoo said he'll have to go to the faculty to run some errand for

Mrs. Oh. Seungyoon said he's coming along to ask something too. Seunghoon said he's goot some club activities. Mino

said he'll just catch up after passing his project to their art teacher. So now, Taehyun is alone again, on his way to the 

cafeteria to eat alone, on his birthday. Taehyun pouts as he sees everyone else having their own little groups, laughing and

being happy on his birthday while he's sulking. He gloats some more over his food before taking a bite. The food was great

but Taehyun isn't feeling great at all.Just then two happy faces greets him. "Good morning, Taehyun-oppa." Soo Hyun says

with her eye smile that's cute and Taehyun gives off a small smile. "Good morning to you too, Soo Hyun, Chanhyuk." Taehyun 

greets back. "Mr. Choi told us we'd have a meeting later after class, we hope you can attend." Chanhyuk says. Taehyun 

agrees. At least photography can  ease his mind a bit.

~

Taehyun got back to the classroom and sees Seunghoon concentrating on drawing something. Jinwoo, Seungyoon and Mino

are not yet in sight so he decides to approach Seunghoon. "What are you doing?" Taehyun asks softly but Seunghoon seemed

like he was burned or something. "A-ah, Taehyun-ah. It's nice to see you here." Seunghoon smiles awkwardly. "You're so

weird." Taehyun laughs a little and sat on his chair to scribble on the back page of his notebook. Seunghoon sighs in relief

and continued what he was doing earlier.

Seunghoon whines. "What am I supposed to do then? Mino's doing the cake and these kids will distract him then you're the 

one who'll give the gifts?" he asks Jinwoo like a child. He loves surprises and he loves surprising people more. "How about

make a greeting card, oppa?" Soo Hyun suggests. "That's a nice idea. We can put all our messages there." Mino agrees. 

"Then I shall do that. Leave it to me, Lee Seunghoon: The master of birthday cards." Seunghoon says, with a thumbs up and

wiggling eyebrows.

~

Later that day, Taehyun got up his seat and says a quick 'I have a meeting for our club' to Jinwoo. Tehyun looks so depressed

by that time tht some were even asking if he's alright. Just then, Taehyun didn't notice and he bumps into Seungyoon who's

running down the halls. "Ah, Seungyoon-ssi. I didn't notice you. I'm sorry." Taehyun says. "Don't worry it's okay." Seungyoon

replies with a small smile. "Where have you been though?" Taehyun asks and Seungyoon's small smile disappears. "I just

went to...uhm...the bathroom?" Seungyoon tries and it's so not convincing but Taehyun lets it paa. "Okay." Taehyun smiles

a bit before making his way towards the club room. Seungyoon resumes to his work.

It was already around lunch time when Jinwoo approached him again for the surprise. "Seungyoon-ssi, would you please 

make a run-through on our plans? If they're all set? I'm really getting nervous now." Jinwoo fidgets and Seungyoon may

or may not find him cute like that but he does and he tries to deny it with all his might. "Yeah, sure. Don't worry. I'll be on

it. And don't get nervous. It's a surprise, not a freaking exam." Seungyoon calms Jinwoo down and it seemed to work

because now Jinwoo is looking at him with that smile that Seungyoon hates because he love it.

Taehyun was glad he did attend the meeting, although only him, Chanhyuk, Soo Hyun and their art teacher Mr.Choi was

present, it was indeed a very creative meeting. Soo Hyun is really a genius when it comes to the colors and Chanhyuk is

great when it comes to angles and Mr. Choi is just so good when it comes to art. After the meeting, Mr. Choi excused

himself and left the three kids to brainstorm. Choi Seunghyun hides a smile as he closes the room of the club room. He

was glad he could help even a little and feel like a child all over again with this whole birthday surprise plan for one of his

students, Taehyun. The kid was nice and so is Soo Hyun and Chanhyuk so he agreed when the two adorable siblings

asked for his help in distracting Taehyun. 

After the brainstorming ends, Soo Hyun and Chanhyuk walked with Taehyun home. Soo Hyun says that they live near

Taehyun's anyway so they'd just stick with him on their way. "Taehyun-hyung, you look so sad today." Chanhyuk says,

looking at his hyung a bit. "Yeah, you usually smile and laugh whenever we tell each other stories." Soo Hyun adds, nodding

at her brother. "I'm not sad." Taehyun denies and he smiles to let the subject go. They were in front of Taehyun and Jinwoo's

house. "Well, you can be happy now." Soo Hyun smiles at him and Chanhyuk brings out a handkerchief. They carefully

blindfolded Taehyun. "H-hey... what is this?" Taehyun asks but he really is smiling now. So there really is a surprise. They

carefully walked inside. Taehyun can hear a 'hushed' countdown by Jinwoo and after three counts, the siblings removed his

blindfold. "Surprise~!" everyone says at the same time. Taehyun smiles and he almost burst into tears but he's Nam Taehyun 

so he did not do that. Jinwoo jumps and hugs him tight. "Happy birthday, Taehyunie." Jinwoo whispers because he knows

Taehyun hates that nickname and the birthday won't like it if anyone else hears. Taehyun hugged him back just as tight.

"Thanks, Jinwoo." Taehyun replies. As they pull away, everyone greets him and hugs him. He sees Mr. Choi there too. Mino's

cousin, Dara and Jiyong and Seungri too. Of course, Seunghoon, Seungyoon and Mino too. Seungyoon says sorry again for

bumping into him earlier and that it was because Jinwoo asked him to check the plan if it'll work that's why he was running

everywhere. Taehyun says that it was really okay and they hugged each other (Seunghoon whines that how come Seungyoon 

gets to hug Taehyun when he thinks that they weren't even that close so Taehyun then hugs a pouting Seunghoon. "Here.

This is for you. This is what I've been doing earlier." Sunghoon hands a big birthday card with all the birthday wishes from

Taehyun's friends. "Thank you." Taehyun grins and looks at the card with much appreciation. "Taehyun-ah, Happy Birthday."

Mino greets Taehyun. They locked eyes before Mino looked away shyly and Taehyun might have seen a slight tinge of a

blush on Mino's cheeks. "Thanks..." Taehyun says and he smiles at the cake Mino is holding out. The cake was sloppy 

but it's cute. It has tiny drawings of him, Mino, Seunghoon, Jinwoo and Seungyoon. "That's so cute." Taehyun gushes

making Mino get more embarrassed. Dara lights up the candle in the middle. "Make a wish~" she said cutely and Taehyun

closed his eyes and wished for the best. After a round of 'Happy Birthdays' again, Jinwoo approaches Taehyun and gives

him a gift. "It's all I can afford..." Jinwoo admits shyly. Taehyun opens it and saw polaroid instant films with cute designs

that Jinwoo would definitely buy. Taehyun hugs Jinwoo. "Thank you. It's so cute. Let me use this, yeah?" Taehyun says

as he slips into his room to grab his polaroid. Taehyun took pictures of all of them. It was fun and Taehyun was happy.

The night was spent on laughter, jokes, stories, eating and some games Seunghoon prepared. All in all, Taehyun thinks

it was the best birthday ever.

Jinwoo pats himself on the head for a job well done.
