Struggling to keep her eyes open, Mihyun pinches her arm in order to stay awake. She finds it hard not to doze off in the middle of Math. The sound of Mrs. Han's voice is like a lullaby; painfully slow and boring.
When she realizes pinching her arm is not enough, she grabs her mechanical pencil and takes a deep breath before scratching the back of her hand with the mechanical pencil's tip.
Yeah, she's that desperate to stay awake. Especially since she knows Mrs. Han, the coldblooded witch as some might call her, hates students slacking off as much as Mihyun hates the smell of her brother's farts.
And Mihyun hates her brother's farts a lot because they smell like zombies' breath.
Do zombies even breathe?
"Ouch!" Mihyun flinches when the tip digs too deep into her skin. She blows at her hand, cringing as she wipes a little blood off of it.
She doesn't realize how loud she was until she looks up and find the whole classroom staring at her.
"Song Mihyun," Mrs. Han's stern voice cut through the silence. "Does your hand beats the importance of my lesson?"
"No, Ma'am. I'm sorry, it won't happen again." She looks down, covering the scratches with her other hand.
"I expect you to stay true to your words." Mrs. Han shifts her gaze to the back of the class, "And you, Kim Hanbin, quit scribbling and pay attention to the board."
