Jimin stirs up to the chattering of people and hustling footsteps that ring his ears into conscious, but what actually brings him to wake is the gentleness of someone’s fingers combing his hair as he finds himself lying head resting on the person’s lap cushioned with layers of soft clothes and layers more on top of him covering almost everything but his face.

He looks up to a hand holding a book that conceals the face while the person’s other hand is fiddling with his hair. Those fingers. Jimin knows immediately who he is and is about to call out when the hand stops, revealing the face of a member Jimin dotes the most.

“Jungkook ah…where’s Hoseok hyung?”

Wrong Jimin.

“Toilet.”

Jungkook’s reply is short, almost defensive and Jimin regrets immediately. He knows the maknae is probably fretting inside over his hyung asking about someone else when his Jungkookie is actually letting him sleep on his lap. Jungkook does not do this, he just doesn’t. Jungkook isn’t one with too many skinships, he does a lot yes, but not like this, those fingers they sometimes Jimin’s hair, sometimes down his forehead, sometimes they stay a little longer on his cheeks, rubbing them softly, before they travel up his forehead again tracing his eyebrows a few times many; they are all too attentive. Jungkook does not do this.

So when Jungkook does these, Jimin can’t help but feel all the guilt in the world, his heart tugs a little stronger, a little sharper, it aches. Jimin instantly turns his head over facing the maknae’s abdomen and snuggles closer bringing the hand that has been caressing him close to his lips as he breathes in before putting it around his back, wanting Jungkook to hold him tight.

“I’m sorry,” Jimin muffles.

Jungkook looks down and pretends his cuddling hyung doesn’t flutter his heart in the most plausible way, not with how Jimin scrunches his nose finding the opening layer of many, many, layers of his clothes, his jacket, then his sweatshirt, his shirt, his undershirts, and when Jimin finally finds it, when Jimin stumbles upon his smooth skin, he just kisses them, inhaling, huddling, you’re so warm Jungkook ah and why do you smell so good. 

And when Jimin laughs a little at his seeming absurd comments, Jungkook pretends that the giggling doesn’t send shivers all throughout his body. He pretends that Jimin’s words do not make his heart feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
