Episode 6 – Irene’s Dol Party

“Say, papa.” Mr. Hwang focused on Irene.

“Pppaaa….kekekekeke” Irene tried to say it but then laughed.

“Aigoo…Irene is so cute. Tickle…tickle…tickle”

Tiffany watched from afar the relationship between Irene and her grandpa or papa as he wants to call it. Going into 13months, Irene’s development had been rather slow. Although she can understand questions asked, her speaking ability is still in the babbling stage. As of any parents, they were concerned that Irene may have some sort of disability. But Sunny assured them to listen to Dr.Park. To just be patient. Not all babies are the same and Irene will catch up with other toddlers. Taeyeon notices the frown on Tiffany’s face. She held her chin and made Tiffany looked at her.

“Everything, ok?”

Tiffany let out a smile then lean in to peck her lips. “Everything is perfect.”

“Hyoyeon said we should go to Hilton now and choose background colours.” Taeyeon puts on a grey scarf around Tiffany’s neck before putting on her jacket.

“I still can’t believe Dad would let Hyoyeon handle the party. It should be me. She wants to make rainbow theme party. Our princess should have a pink party.” Tiffany complained.

“And that is exactly why Dad asked Hyoyeon to do it.”

Tiffany pouts. Taeyeon smiled then gave a peck on her lips. “Dad wants you to relax and just focus on your family. Let Hyoyeon handles all the details. You know she’s more than capable. Or you wouldn’t have her help you with the boutique.”

Tiffany smiled at her wife. “Everything you say is right. That’s why I love you so much.” She kissed her wife passionately. Tightening her embrace around the latter’s waist. She was about to kiss Taeyon’s neck when suddenly a cough broke the two apart.

“Ehem…Irene wants to say goodbye.” Mr.Hwang said. “Say bye-bye.”

Irene held her hand up and start opening and closing her palm. Her way of waving.

After they left kisses on baby Irene the two goes to Hilton where Hyoyeon awaits.

(Irene’s 1st Birthday Party)

All the guests were situated and having a splendid time enjoying the good food and entertainment. Tiffany can’t help but to thank Hyoyeon.

“Thanks for the awesome party, Hyo. I know I should have more faith in you.”

“Pshhh…what did I say, bruh? All good.” Hyoyeon said. Tiffany does not know whether Hyoyeon is acting real cool or she’s high from some chemical substance.  Hyoyeon’s eyes suddenly light up like Christmas lights. Tiffany turned her head to look what has caught her attention. Surely a beautiful brunette had caught Hyoyeon’s eyes.

“Excuse me. I need to unleash the hidden playa in me.” Hyoyeon suddenly makes weird sounds and puffing her cheeks. Did a little popping then twirl once and all of a sudden she changes into some swaggered up blond. And where did the snapback appears from Tiffany had no idea.

“I need to get new friends.” Tiffany muttered. Knowing she has weird friends.

A commotion caught Tiffany’s attention. It was coming from their parents table. She quickly makes her way to the table as the voices were getting louder and a crowd starting to gather. “What is going on?” She asked.

There she saw her father and Taeyeon’s father both holding onto Irene. Mr. Kim was holding on the lower part of Irene’s body while Mr.Hwang was holding her at the other end.

“I still wanna play with my granddaughter.” Mr. Kim said reluctant to let go.

“It is my turn now. Give her to me.” Mr. Hwang pulling on Irene.

The baby probably feeling discomfort and sensing tension between the two started to whine before bursting her cries.

“This is all your fault!” Mr.Hwang said angrily.

“What?!” Mr.Kim said in disbelief. “If you didn’t force her, she won’t cry.”

“That’s ridiculous. I am obviously Irene’s favourite grandpa.” Mr.Hwang proudly exclaimed.

“No. It’s me!” Mr. Kim retorted.

“I am!”

“No. Me!”

The banter becomes louder and louder until…

“ENOUGH!” Tiffany voice boomed. “None of you is going to play with Irene.” She takes Irene from both of them which caused a groan of disapproval from them. “You can only play once you apologise with each other.”

“What? No way.”

“Pfft…you wish.”

 “No sorries means no Irene playtime.”

The grandfathers crossed their arms with pouts on their faces. The crowd chuckles at the old men childish acts.

“I want both of you to reflect on what you’ve done. Your granddaughter is crying because her grandfathers are acting stupid. No more playing with Irene until you finally express your regrets. Understand?” Tiffany looks more like the parent of the two old boys. Obviously getting grounded from playing with Irene.

“Yes.”

“Understand.”

The two nods like a kid getting reprimanded for stealing candy. The crowd laughed at the grandfathers before dispersing to get more food or danci
