Simple as that.

Song. Key. and Melody. {Hiatus}

The girl drifted in and out of consciousness as the two boys chatted away in the living room.

She struggled to keep her eyes open as their voices became a hum in the background. There seemed to be no victory in sight for her.

So what’s going on?” the older boy asked folding his legs into the chair.

What do you mean? I already explained.

Jonghyun waved at the air in discontent and groaned. “Again. It didn’t make sense to me.

The blonde looked to Xuan Lu whose eyes were shut tight and smiled to himself. “We happened to run into each other.”

Jjong scrunched his face. “How?

Uh…you know how I didn’t show up yesterday?

The older leaned forward. “TaeWon Hyung was PISSED!

The girl stirred in her sleep and KiBum shot the other boy a glare. “Don’t wake her,” he hissed. Jjong gave his best sorry expression which ended up as a messy and toothy grin. KiBum sighed at his Hyung. “ I was walking to work because my car wouldn’t start. Luckily it was nothing big and jumping my car seems to work for now.” He glanced at XuanLu and continued his story. “I wasn’t easy to recognize me, but somehow she still discovered me.” The older pursed his lips together and examined the girl. “So why is she here?

She had a bit of an accident. She fell and lost her memory.

That’s what she told you?

KiBum looked at her softly. “No, she didn’t know she had forgotten anything until I told her she did.

Simple as that?

He looked at his Hyung confused. “What are you getting at?

…you let her in, as simple as that?

Well she was out in the middle of the street…what was I supposed to do?

He shook his head at the younger boy. “The Kim KiBum that I know wouldn’t have thought about it.

Now that’s harsh. I’m not that selfish.

JongHyun looked at him intently. “There’s something different…isn’t there?

I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said standing up to walk away.

Don’t give me that ,” the older boy demanded reaching out for him. “I know you better than anyone else, and I can tell something’s up.

Get OFF!” KiBum shoved the boy knocking him down, but unlucky for KiBum he was brought down too. They landed with a thump and the two of them groaned in pain.

“Am I interrupting something?” the girl asked now wide awake.

The two boys shot up. “No nothing.” KiBum looked at Jjong and then turned away. “Psht…”

Hey! Take it back!” The older commanded swatting at him.

Ow, Hyung…leave me alone.” The two continued bickering and XuanLu just sat there watching the two fight a meaningless battle.

That’s it!” KiBum yelled throwing his hands into the air. “Xuanie, what do you want to eat?”

I’m not done with you,” JongHyun growled following his dongsaeng.

Well I’m threw with it.” He sashayed from one end of the room to the other catching the attention of both guests.

Got a little swish going on yebo?

Kibum looked up at the older boy and then to XuanLu. “Gah! To many Korea’s Next Top Model re-runs.

XuanLu furrowed her brow. “…That’s what I was watching last night.”

The blonde laughed uneasily and looked to his Hyung to help him out. Jjong just blinked at him not understanding her English. From XuanLu’s perspective, she had just woken up to the two boys wrestling on the floor. They had jumped up looking surprised, a little guilty and the older was still tugging at the other. Soon after KiBum had started swinging his hips across the living room and blushed as XuanLu confronted him about the Modeling TV program.

He’s always so concerned with his appearance,’ she thought staring at the boy.

He clenched his jaw as she examined him. She was going to think he was a creep if he told her he fell asleep with her, watching reruns of the superficial modeling show. What if the topic of the night before surfaced and he was a forced to tell her what happened? No. He would not tell her, no matter what. He promised. And he, the Almighty Key, did NOT break promises.

Oh, you know how it is…” he tried to play off. “Sometimes there’s literally nothing on TV.

But you like to watch our -oof!

XuanLu looked at the older boy who had just been kicked in the stomach. JongHyun looked up at the younger and coughed as the air escaped his lungs.

“So what did you want to eat?” KiBum smiled as if kicking his Hyung was the most natural thing to do.

JongHyun stood up. “You should watch some more TV, hopefully your Korean will improve that way,” he wheezed. His hands pressed against Kibum’s back as he pushed him to the kitchen. “I need to talk to you.

What now?” KiBum whined finding himself in the kitchen.

This girl, how do you know she’s not just crazy?

Kibum blinked.

How do you know she’s not an actress on a variety show making fun of you?

He bit back his lip. “She doesn’t leave.

But she’s only been here a day.

What’s your point?

Jonghyun looked around making sure that the girl was in fact watching TV and not just playing it, pretending to be paying attention. “You don’t know her at all and you’re being too nice to her. Letting her live here, making her food. You don’t even know her and you’re already nicer to her than you are me.

Hyung not now.

Come on. You’ve been moody with me for the past month without an explanation and here comes this foreigner and you’re bright and sunny, embarrassed and pink.” He pokes at the younger’s cheeks.

I’ve already texted Onew to come pick you up.

His mouth dropped, “When did you do that?

When you woke Xuanie up.

You even have a pet name for her.

KiBum sighed pulling something from the cabinet. “You’re wrong about it all.

Then I’m wrong. I just don’t want something bad to happen.

There was a knock at the door and they walked out to see XuanLu shuffling her feet to the door.

“Xuan No!”

She looked to KiBum but it was already too late. A hand creeped it’s way between the door and it’s frame.

Yah! Will you calm down?! It’s only me,” a tired voice groaned.

Onew Hyung…How did you get here so soon?” KiBum asked completely shocked by his speed.

I was in the neighborhood,” the oldest replied stepping inside and taking off his hat. “Who am I picking up?” He asked brushing off his jacket.

This,” KiBum said pointing to Jonghyun.

What? I am not a thing! I’m a human being~” he stressed making a face at the other boy.

Just come with me. I have things to do. I’ll drop you off at the dorm.

H-yung!” the boy whined. “You’re not even going to ask about her?

Onew glance from JongHyun to KiBum and then rested his eyes on XianLu. He shrugged his shoulders as her being there was almost expected. “Key’s house, I don’t give a crap.” He combed his bangs with his fingers. “Just don’t do anything stupid.

KiBum nodded and shooed his dino of a bandmate away. “See, some people have a bit of faith.

XuanLu tilted her head to the side watching the comedy unfold a bit more. The oldest boy tugged at the new boy practically dragging him outside.

--

The two sat down at the kitchen table, before the Korean style meal KiBum had just prepared. Xuan Lu thanked him, then looked to the boy, wide-eyed and confused by the situation that had taken place not long ago. “You’re not...” she started but felt the tension rise in the room as his thick eyelids raised to glance at her.

“Not what?”

She swallowed before sticking her silver chopsticks into her rice. What business did she have knowing about his uallity? Why should she care anyways? Well, she was just a little curious. “You’re not going to finish that?” she asked nodding to his untouched kimchi.

“Oh,” he said brightly picking some up with his spoon and placing it in her bowl.

She flushed a brilliant shade of pink while still staring at his bowl of kimchi. “Do you want more?” he asked throwing her out of her daze. She blinked and he grasped a bit of the radish between the chopsticks and held it to . “Say ah~” he smiled and parted as he fed her the food. She gazed at him, now even more confused to his cheery attitude. “You didn’t get the chili paste,” he hummed sticking the metal into his mouth, tasting the spices.

Was that, an indirect kiss? She thought to herself and rid away any lingering ideas. “Who was that earlier?”

“I told you, a co-worker,” he mused.

“Not him, the other guy.”

“Onew Hyung...Jinki?”

She chewed her kimchi as he picked at his food. “Yeah, that guy. He has two names?”

“Well, you have two names...” He said shortly causing her to jump back. “Sorry, did I snap? I didn’t mean to,” he smiled sweetly.

She pouted, slowly letting air deflate from her cheeks. “Don’t worry about it. I was just curious.”

Hmmms... Is Jjong up to something bad? But he seems like a good person, so I think he's only up to something mischievous. Haha.

XuanLu's so adorable. I love how she bickers with Key. But I wonder why she can't speak Korean even though she understands it; is it because of she lost part of her memory? It just doesn't make too much sense to me. I'd think that she would either know how to speak and listen to Korean like before, or not know the Korean language at all.

Ah, the Chinese fits perfectly. I'm glad. However, the last bit sounds a little awkward. You might want to change it to 该死的家伙 (gai si de jia huo), which roughly translates to 'he should die/he should go to hell'.

该死 (gai si) is usually said to someone in his/her face, but since XuanLu seemed to be muttering to herself, I thought that you should add in something to make it sound that way. Though the word for word translation of 该死的家伙 (gai si de jia huo) is 'he should die/he should go to hell', but it actually can be interpreted as 'go die/go to hell' like 该死 (gai si).

Hope the Chinese don't confuse you. xD

As for the story, the first part made me wonder - what exactly did XuanLu not remember from the previous night? Why does Key seem to be so close with her all of a sudden? And of course, I'm still a little confuse over the poor girl's condition. Lols.

I see my name! Thank you! -bows-

This chapter is so cute. You definitely made loads of changes, and I can see more maturity in your writing as compared to the previous one. Good job!

Once again, you made me question the nickname you made for XuanLu. It had looked and sounded weird to me at first, yet, after repeating it again and again in my head, Lulu started sounding extremely adorable to the ears. You really did change my mind about having unusual names/nicknames. xD

Oh, and just a little something I thought you might want to know: XuanLu's Chinese family name would be Cui (崔), since her Korean family name is Choi. I searched Minho's name and came up with the correct translation of the family name. Thought you might find it useful. ^^

Love your poster, btw. The colour combination is pretty. (:

I personally like the previous Chinese name better, but since you're the author, it's your choice. Just wondering though, are you a Chinese?

Oh, and I'm liking the first chapter even more now! ^^
