Manage My Love

Jinki’s POV

I sat in the living room thinking what could have made her so angry. I switched on the television. “Ex super Junior, Lee Eunhyuk, now known as Lee Hyukjae got married to their former manager, Kim Haemin. Many SM artist including DBSK appeared at the scene. What most amazing was the CEO of Woori bank and I’Park mall, Park Soo-Yun was also at the scene. It seems like she had some intimacy with these people before. Stay tuned to…” DBSK, Wasn’t she their manager before, something must have triggered her.

I decided to wait for her. If by 11pm she’s not back, I will head out to look for her. Time was going past so slowly as if each second represents a day. I clutched my fingers tightly. I have a very bad feeling something happened. I stood up and took my car keys. When I was about to head out the phone rang. I gulped my saliva and I extended my shaking had towards the phone. I pulled it towards my ear slowly.

“Yoboseyo. Lee Jinki Imnida.”

“Mr. Lee, this is Seoul Hospital.” I froze totally. The phone was still at my ear. I blocked out every single sound in the room other than the nurse who was speaking.

“Your wife Mrs. Lee Soo-Yun is in the hospital. She got into a car accident… “I dropped down onto the floor with the phone still at my ear. I couldn’t hear anymore. I can’t believe this is really happening.

“Mr. Lee! Mr. Lee! Are you still there?” The nurse on the other side asked. I broke out of the daze I was in. “I’ll be right there.” I sniffed and wiped the tears. I drove my car as quickly as I can to the hospital.

When I got there, I rushed straight to the operation theatre. The red light indicating that operation was in progress was lit up. I sat at the bench outside the theatre with my head buried in my palms. It’s all my fault. I should have agreed to go with her to the wedding. It’s all my fault. I felt a hand on my back. I looked up and saw Hongki and Jae-hyun.

“She’ll be alright.” Jae-hyun assured me. I could see that she was tearing. Her eyes were red and Hongki had his arms round her, comforting her. “Where’s Omma?” I asked Jae-hyun.

“Hyung, it’s not wise to tell her. She would have been upset over her husband’s death. If she heard her daughter is in the hospital, she would be devastated.” Hongki said. I nodded my head in agreement. If Soo-Yun’s Omma were to know about this, she would be devastated. When Soo-Yun’s Appa died, she refused to eat or drink. She locked herself in the house for a very long time after Soo-Yun’s Appa’s body was cremated.

Hours passed and the operation was still in progress. Soo-Yun will be alright. She will be fine. I looked at Hongki talking on the phone. “Make sure the news on the accident doesn’t get leaked out. Thank you.” He then looked back at me giving me an assuring smile.

Suddenly, the red light dimmed down. I stood up immediately. The door swung open revealing a man in a blue operation suit from head to toe. He removed his mask. I straight away approached the doctor. “How’s my wife?” I clutched his hand.

“She’s in coma.”

“Is it serious?” I asked

“We don’t know yet. We can only conclude the seriousness of the damage when she wakes up and there is a high chance she may not wake up. I’m sorry.”He said and walked away while a nurse approached me and asked for the hospital stay procedure. I went to fill the form and headed to her room.

Once I entered, tears couldn’t stop forming in my eyes. There were bandages on her face and her head was wrapped with bandages. Her arm was in a cast and she has a few scratches on her face. Looking at her in this state really pains my heart.

When I finally was able to make it to the chair beside her bed, my face was already streaked with tears. “Soo-Yun will wake up. She’s a strong girl. She will wake up.” Jae-hyun said with a hoarse voice while her hand was on my shoulder.

“I believe she will wake up.” I said. Hongki placed his hand on my other shoulder and squeezed it lightly. “She’ll be fine hyung.” I nodded slightly and sat there holding her hand. I looked at her till I felt a hand pulling mine. I looked up to See Hongki. “Go home hyung. She’ll be fine.”

“I’m fine. You go home. I want to stay here and accompany her.” I said and turned back to look at Soo-Yun. Hongki then left with Jae-hyun. I sat there looking at her till I fell asleep.

The next morning, I was woken up the constant ringing of my phone. I took it out from my pocket and realized that it was my secretary, Mr. Jung. “Yoboseyo.” I walked out of Soo-Yun’s ward.

“Mr. Lee, where are you?”

“I’m not coming the next few days. I’ll call the CEO and explain it to him myself.” I hung up and called Appa.

“Appa. I’m taking a few days leave… Soo-Yun…. She’s in the hospital.” Appa talked to me for a while and he said she will tell Omma to visit. He promised to keep this from Soo-Yun’s Omma. I sat there doing the same thing and sat in the same way till I heard the door open. I turned to look at the door and saw Omma.

She had a weak smile hanging on her lips. She walked in towards the bed, wanting a closer look at Soo-Yun. I stood up, letting her sit on the chair. She sat down and caressed her face. “Poor thing. Why is she in this state dear?” Omma asked with care and concern in her voice. “She got into a car accident.” I looked down.

“Darling.” I looked up to see Omma standing up, looking at me. “It’s not your fault. Now what you have to do is go home. I’ll take care of her for you. Go home and shower before returning. If you fall sick who is going to take care of her. Your Appa say that you are only granted leave for 2 days after that you’re to return. I’ll take care of her when you return to work. I’ll inform you when something happens.”

“Omma…” I wanted to say something when she cut my sentence. “It’s final. Go home. She’ll be fine.” I lingered there for 5 seconds before turning around and went home. Soo-Yun, you must be alright.

I went home, shower and return. Omma then assured me that she’ll be fine. I stayed till the next day where Omma shooed me home again. I followed Omma’s orders and headed back to the hospital again. I stayed the next day till Omma came and went home to shower and go to work. I couldn’t concentrate at all. Everything going through my mind was that Soo-Yun’s going to be alright.

Appa then came into my office one day. “My son, treat this as a challenge to yourself. There are many obstacles in your life. You must overcome it. You must endure it.” He said and left my office. Every day after work I’d go to hospital and visit Soo-Yun. No matter how tired I am, I will go.

One month…

Two months…

Three months…

Soo-Yun was still lying on the bed, motionless. Once I started thinking that she would never wake up, my heart wrenches in pain.

This particular day, Appa decided to let me stay in the hospital with Soo-Yun. I entered the room to see Hongki and Jae-hyun by her bed side. I walked over and they allowed me to sit at the chair. I look her hand and look at her pale complexion. Tears started foaming again. I had a feeling of giving up. What If she doesn’t wake up? What if she died?

“Why Soo-Yun why? I love you so much. Why won’t you give me the chance to tell it to you? I don’t care if you don’t love me back. I just want to let you know I love you. I am willing to stay far away from you. As long as I know you’re alive and doing fine, I am willing to give up.” I cried and said. Hongki then wanted to pull me away, but I held tightly to Soo-Yun.

“Hyung…” Hongki said. It was the first time I acted like this in front of him. I was always seen strong in front of Hongki. Soo-Yun was the only person who’d seen my weak side.

Suddenly, I felt her fingers move. I opened my eyes in shock and stopped sobbing. “Soo-Yun can you hear me?” I went closer to her bed and looked at her closely. I saw her eyeballing moving from left to right behind her eye lids. There was then a drop of tear sliding from the side of her eyes.

She was reacting. There was finally reaction from her. I called her the doctor. He examined her and we stood outside, waiting for his good news. When he opened the door, I approached him. “There are slight improvements but the chances of her waking up are slim.” He walked away with the nurse following him. Hongki came up to me. ‘She will wake up. I can feel it.” He said. We walked back in to see her still the same.

When Hongki and Jae-hyun wanted to leave, I felt her fingers twitch again. I held on her hand tighter. It started off with one finger then 2 then 3. I looked up at her face and her eyes fluttered open. I was happy, elated. I pulled her into a hug straight away. “You’re finally awake.” I started tearing again. I expected her to push me away violently, but none of that she pulled away and looked at me with bewilderment in her eyes.

“Who are you?” She asked softly. I was worried again. “I’m your husband Jinki. Lee Jinki.” She scratched her head.

“Soo-Yun ah, Do you know who am I?” Jae-hyun asked and pointed at herself. Soo-Yun shook her head. “I’m Soo-Yun?” She asked.

I immediately ran out to look for the doctor. He came back and checked on her again. “It’s a miracle that she woke up shortly after her first physical reaction, but it seems like she suffering from Amnesia. We can’t conclude if it’s temporary or permanent yet. We will have to run some tests on her tomorrow.” I thanked the doctor and went back in.

“Where am I and who are you people?” She clutched her blanket tightly and backed away from us.

‘Soo-Yun, we won’t harm you. We’re your family. I’m Han Jae-hyun your cousin. He’s Lee Jinki, your Husband and he is Lee Hongki cousin of your husband.” She looked at us. I got closer to her and sat down on the chair beside her bed. “If you’re my husband, you must know a lot about me.” She smiled. The first time I’d seen her with that smile after so long.

When I was about to say something, Jae-Hyun pulled me away. “Hongki talk to her. I need to tell Jinki something” and she shut the door.

“Don’t tell her that she hates you and all. Try to make her accept you. If its temporary, she’ll realize that you really care for her. If its permanent, then keep everything this way.” She said and I thought for a while. I don’t want to lie to Soo-Yun, but this is for the better. I stepped in and saw her smiling.

Hongki called Appa and Omma. Both of them left their work aside and came to the hospital to visit Soo-Yun. They both introduced themselves to Soo-Yun. Soo-Yun was not like before. She returned to her old self, the happy cheerful Soo-Yun.

The next day, the doctor ran some test and it proved she was fine and can go home. The part on the amnesia was not confirmed. There may be chances she will recover her memory, but there are also chances she would not. Chances of her recovering her memory are higher.

Appa granted me some time off work so I can take care of Soo-Yun. She looked amazed when she saw her room. “This walk in closet is huge.” She spun around in circles. I could only laugh at her. She’s really pretty and charming. I hope we could be like this forever. She then came to me and hugged my arm. “I want to see my Omma.” She said suddenly. She remembered that her Appa died and her Omma was very sad on our way home.

“Sure. Let’s go.” I got the chauffer to drive us to her old house. The butler opened the door and we saw Mrs. Park sitting on the couch. “Omma.” She exclaimed and went into her Omma’s embrace. On the trip to her parent’s house, I told her about not mentioning her accident to her mother and she smiled in agreement. We had dinner with her mum. “Soo-Yun ah, how’ve you been with Jinki?” Omma asked during dinner.

“I can’t be happier. He treats me really well. He gives in to me a lot.” She smiled and looked at me. She then placed the chicken which she got and placed it on my plate. I looked at her she just smile. Her smile just mesmerizes me. The smile which I missed. Her mum gave us some Kimchi to bring home. Soo-Yun promised to visit more often. Her mum waved us good bye and we left for home. “Why won’t omma move in and live with us?” Soo-Yun asked with her head on my shoulder. “She says that it contains her memories with you Appa. She already lost your Appa she doesn’t want to lose the memories also. Beside, your cousin Jae-hyun’s living with her.” She nodded her head and we went home in silence.

“You said I run the company. If I’m here then who’s running it?” She asked once we stepped into the house. I told her everything. Due to her being ill, her company has been running under Jae-hyun’s supervision and she was doing a good job.

“I want to go back. I can’t have Jae-hyun helping me. She has other things to do also. I can go back now.” She said and I nodded. I called Jae-hyun telling her than Soo-Yun’s going back to the company tomorrow. Jae-hyun agreed to help Soo-Yun for the first few days. Even though Soo-Yun’s smart, she will need someone to tell her what has been going on the past few months.

The next day, she went to work. Jae-hyun came to pick her up. I gave her a peck on her forehead before she left for work. She’ll be fine.

End of Jinki’s POV

Soo-Yun’s POV

I woke up early and made breakfast for my husband. I was about to go up and change for work when he came down dressed in what I had prepare for him. I thought he would have started his breakfast when I was changing. However, when I got down, He was standing at the bottom of the steps, waiting for me.

“Why aren’t you eating?” I asked him with a pout on my lips.

“I wanted to send you off first.” He smiled with his arms circling round my waist.

He sent me off at the door. He gave me a kiss on my forehead before I waved him goodbye and hopped into Jae-hyun’s car.

When I reached the office, everyone looked at me with fear. Was I very cold in the past? I got into my office and listened to Jae-hyun explain the files on my table. Then there was a knock on the door. A lady who was in her mid thirties came in. She was shivering hard. “Mrs. Lee, I forgot to bring in your coffee.” She looked down, afraid to look at me.

“It’s ok.” I smiled and she looked up at me with shock. “You can go now.” I looked back down at my file and she walked out. When Jae-hyun was done, it was lunch time. We headed out for lunch and there was really a lot of attention focused on us.

“Unnie, I ask you something.” I said while we waited for our food.

“What is it?” She asked as she sipped her coffee.

“What was I like before I lost my memory? It seems like the people in my company are all scared of me.”I said.

“You use to be so strict with them till they will get a scolding for whatever small mistakes they make. One example is when your secretary, which was the woman just now, if she forgets to bring your coffee from Starbucks, you would scold her till she can cry for hours.”

“That is really bad.” I said as I looked at the potato salad that was served on the table.

“Now is my turn to ask you a question.” Jae-hyun asked.

“What is it?” I said still looking at my salad.

“Would you want to regain your memory?” She looked at me with a pair of serious eyes.

“I don’t mind staying like that forever. I’m happy now and so is Jinki. It seems like people will enjoy me as who I am now rather than who I was before. The cold and heartless person. The past is no longer important. What’s important is the future.” I said smiling as I thought of Jinki. Jae-hyun nodded her head and smiled as we continued with Lunch.

When I got back to the office, I buried myself back into my work. It seems like I was so engrossed until Jae-hyun came and said she would fetch me home. I left my remaining work till tomorrow and headed home. When I got home, Jinki was already home. I saw the lights coming from the window. I waved Unnie goodbye and asked her to help me take good care of Omma. She nodded and drove off. I opened the door and Jinki gave me a peck on my lips. “Welcome home darling.” He smiled and I smiled back. I feel so fortunate for having such a good husband.

For the next few weeks, I went to work and attended parties. Jinki was of course my partner. Every party we went, people would say we look very compatible. I would smile and Jinki would laugh along with them. It seems like I have never attend parties with Jinki in the past. By the end of every party, I would be very tired. Walking around in those heavy dresses and those killer heels, I could just die. However, Jinki would help me massage my leg for me. He knows that I’m in pain. The best thing about him is that he doesn’t comment in my dressing. At home, I would be in shorts. I remember in the past, my Appa would reprimand me when I’m in shorts, especially in winter.

The only thing that I could recall is about Appa. Maybe it’s because he wasn’t around anymore and he was protecting me from above. By thinking of Appa, I was so happy to be his daughter. Even when he’s fierce and overbearing on occasions, I still feel lucky.

One day when I returned back to the office, there was a knock on my door once I sat on my seat. My secretary, Mrs. Go came in and passed me a file. It was a list of people to choose from to endorse the mall. I chose this particular boy band that I found very familiar.

6 weeks later…

I was going to the studio to supervise the filming of the commercial. When I was about to leave my office, there was a knock on my door. “Come in.” I was still arranging the files on my table. It was Jinki. “Want to go for lunch?” He asked. I shook my head. “I’m going to supervise this CF filming. Unless you want to come along then we have lunch after?” He smiled and nodded. We then took his car there.

The filming was on the 13th floor. When we’ve reached, we headed to a particular studio and I saw 5 charming guys preparing. When the director noticed my presence, the whole studio knew I arrived. “Mrs. Lee” He exclaimed.

I went forward and shook his hand. “Boys, come greet her.” The 5 boys walked towards me and a very beautiful guy stood in the middle. He kept looking at me I didn’t know why.  The 5 people had puzzled look on their faces. “Aren’t you going to introduce yourselves?” I asked. They looked more shock after I said that.

“Erm. We’re Dong Bang Shin Ki. I’m Yunho, He’s Changmin, He’s Jaejoong, He’s junsu and the last guy there is Yoochun.”

“I’m Lee Soo-yun.” I extended my hand, waiting for either one of them to shake my hand.  The guy named Changmin nudged the guy beside him. He looked at me in the eye. He shook my hand and I felt a familiar warmth gush through my veins. He looked familiar, but I don’t recall. All I know was Japan kept ringing in my head. I bit my lips trying to recall what he has to do with Japan.

Jinki then held me by my waist. “I hope we’ll have a good time cooperating. I hope to work with the 5 of you again.” I said and walked away with Jinki heading for lunch.

End of Soo-Yun’s POV

Jaejoong’s POV

I shook Soo-Yun’s hand. She seemed unfamiliar to me. She doesn’t recongise us anymore. It was not an act. I can see from her eyes. The guy beside her I assume is her husband looked at me coldly. He tried to show me that Soo-Yun belongs to him.

When they left, the others came over and wanted to comfort me. “I’m fine.” I said as I went back to my seat. She forgot me and maybe I should forget about her. Seeing her this happy, I’m also happy. I wish her happiness and may we meet again in our next lives, as lovers…

End of Jaejoong’s POV

5 years later, all of them had their own lives. Jaejoong got married even though he still loves Soo-Yun however, he found out that Soo-Yun had lost her memory. He then kept this relationship hidden in his heart forever, and got to know a girl named Park Jaebin. Jaejoong loved her with all his heart and they got married. Jaebin knows Jaejoong’s problem, but she doesn’t blame him or force him to forget about her. All Jaebin knows is that everyone has their own past. They were friends with Soo-Yun and she could tell that Jaejoong still has feelings for Soo-Yun, but now Jaejoong knows there’s someone else who’s there to keep him company and love him.

Haemin and Eunhyuk had 2 children. Haemin had twins and gave birth to a boy and a girl. The whole Super Junior was fighting to be her god father and now she has 12. Haemin heard of Soo-Yun’s condition and she couldn’t help but feel sad for Jaejoong and Soo-Yun. Maybe this was what their fate would be.

Yoora and Seungri left overseas to study. They both received a scholarship to the same school. The both of them at first had thought they would need to leave the other party behind but they were wrong. Both of them are still deeply in love and engaged. Yoora was at first shocked to hear about Soo-Yun’s condition. However, she and Haemin still became friends with Soo-Yun however, everything started from square one.

As for Soo-Yun and Jinki, both loved each other. Soo-Yun can’t remember anything. However, Jinki told her everything and she said that even though before she lost her memory she hated him, she believes that there must be something deep down as now she loves him truly. She and Jaejoong sees each other as best friends. However, when she sees Jaejoong, she will feel something from the past, but it just doesn’t come back. She’s no longer the cold blooded and heartless CEO of her parent’s company. She and Jinki are always busy, but would always have time for each other.

All 4 couples lived a better life after 5 years. Everything in the past were of the past. All of them have their happily ever after…
