Dear diary, I don’t know where to start to write about what happened today since it all happened in a flash. I think I am still dreaming, right now, am I? Maybe I should tell you from the start...

“What do you want to do today?” I asked Sunye. 


We were sitting around lazily in the living room after having breakfast. After weeks of helping Sunye doing her treatment, I felt that it is a good idea to go out and do things that we used to do. Although there are times when it is difficult to know whether she remembers me, I’m sure by now Sunye either accepted me as one of her maid or assistant because she no longer asks who I am anymore. 


“I want to go camping” Sunye suggested. The Sunye I knew loves camping and love to be surrounded with Mother Nature. 


“Sure, but just in case, I’ll have to inform Ms Yenny, your doctor first” I answered. After informing Doctor Yenny, we packed and soon were on our way to go for a mini adventure. 


“OMG, this is so exciting!” Sunye exclaimed as soon as she saw the signboard to the camp place. I laughed at her excitement, this was the camp site that we used to go, I wonder if Sunye remembers. 


After settling our things in one of the camp, we went for a stroll in the reserved forest. I took Sunye to a nearby waterfall. 


“Do you remember this place?” I blurted out knowing that I shouldn’t intrigued Sunye to remember her past memories.


“Maybe, I don’t know. But the place does looks familiar” she said. “Is this place important to us?” she continued. 


'If only you remember' I whispered.

- One year ago -

It was almost midnight when we were sitting in front of the campfire near the waterfall, drinking our soju bottles and eating dried squids. In my head I was memorizing the things I need to do to make the perfect proposal and one of it is to get it done before both of us got drunk. Somehow, or maybe I should say the alcohol effect, Sunye beat me to that.


“Jiyong” she called me without addressing ‘oppa’ as always. The alcohol must have gotten into her already. 


“Yes dear” I replied. 


“Will you be by my side for the rest of my life?” I was taken aback by her question - that was my line she took. As shocked as I was, I wouldn’t let Sunye to ruin my plan. 


“Sunye” she turned to look at me with an anxious look, her cheeks were rosy. 


“Will you marry me?” I proposed to her officially. In a way, it is to redeem my ‘lost’ honor as a man and also an answer to her question. 


She smiled, which I took as a ‘yes’, before I kissed her to ‘seal the deal’.

- Present -

‘Maybe, one day you’ll recall the significance of this place” I answered Sunye. 


We were walking back to our tent when we saw a group of teenagers walking towards the flying fox. Looking at their excitement somehow made Sunye wanted to try it as well. 


“Of course, you can but you have to be careful” I said. Ms Yenny had mentioned earlier that it is okay for Sunye to indulge in any kind of sports because (a)she is not physically disabled (b)she is not mentally retarded either. 


Carefully, I guide Sunye to the site which was bigger than I expected. Besides flying fox, it also has all kinds of extreme sports just like a mini army training base. 


Sunye was excited and so was I as we both love extreme sports. After the instructions given by the instructor, I led Sunye to the ‘start’ trail. 


As it has become a habit of mine since the past few months or so I can’t help looking over Sunye, making sure she is okay. Sunye might be the one having the amnesia but in a way I am also suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The memories of Sunye being injured and unconscious kept haunting me and it felt like déjà vu all over again when I saw Sunye almost slipped from the tiny bridge rope we were walking on. It almost caused my heart to stop as my reflex reaction try to help her. But, Sunye easily dismissed my worries with her heavenly smile. The smile that never fails to make my heart flutters. 


As my thought wanders about our past, we were already reaching the end of the trail. I was standing nearby, waiting for the staff to untie Sunye from the safety strings. Her adrenaline was still running high from the ‘adventure’ as she skipped to where I was standing. Accidently, she tripped over a rock and hit her head on a tree in front of it. I panicked and ran to her side immediately.

- Nearby Hospital –

“How is she?” I asked the doctor-in-charge of Sunye. She gained her conscious on the way to the hospital.


“She is fine and according to the x-ray, thankfully she does not suffer any major injuries on her brain. But for precaution, she will have to stay in the hospital for another day” The male doctor explained.


I felt relieved hearing that Sunye is fine, “Oh, by the way doctor. I hope you can pay extra attention to her because she also suffer from amnesia due to an accident three months ago”


“Amnesia? Accident?” The doctor was confused by my statement. “If what you mentioned, she had an accident three months, other than PTSD I can’t really tell if there are any major injuries that might cause her amnesia. Judging from the brain scan I had, I can say that she is not suffering anything major on her brain. But, if you insist, I can check with her doctor, would you mind giving me the doctor’s contact number?” the doctor explained kindly which stumped me.


‘Wait, so Sunye is okay? She is not suffering from any head injuries or amnesia or whatever it is?’ I started to get more confused and after giving Sunye’s medical reference to the doctor, I headed back to check up on Sunye. But, Sunye was nowhere to be found, instead there was a letter addressed to me left on the bed.

Jiyong oppa,

I overheard your conversation with the doctor.

I’m sorry you have to find out the truth from other person.

I’m sorry that I lied to you for the past three months. 

If it makes you feel any better, I actually did suffer from amnesia for a few days after the accident.

But the scene of you kissing the model kept replaying in my head and I felt that it is a good idea to take a little revenge by playing amnesic.

And please, do not blame Ms Yenny – I made her do this for me. 

Honestly, I felt guilty to you since you take good care of me this few months.

I had always wanted to tell you the truth but I just couldn’t find the right time.

I felt ashamed of what I did therefore I decided it is best for me to leave you.

Hope you can just forget about me and moved on.

I crushed the letter in my hand and took the ring left on the table before exiting the room in a rush. Although, I admit I was a little mad that Sunye had made me a fool this past few months, I felt that I totally deserved it. I ran all over the place but still couldn’t find her. 


“Sunye~~~ah” I cried out in the middle of the road. ‘Don’t leave me’ I trailed lifelessly.

From the comments I got, I understand that everyone wants to know how the relationship between Sunye and GD progress. Don’t worry, although this fanfix is just a short story, I make sure I ‘cover’ everything. So definitely, the part where they get together will come slowly but surely hehe Anyway, hope all of you like the update and despite the fact that our Leader Min has a boyfriend, I am still pretty much a G-Ye shipper in heart hehe…I just hope, I can finish my project before end of this month so I can concentrate on finishing this fanfix
