He Invited Me to a Party
My Cliche Love Story [ue]He invited me to a party.
It would have music,
Drinks,
And girls.
He’s straight as a pole.
I’ll go anyway,
Just to see him.
I feel out of place.
Everyone is popular,
Luhan has friends.
I see them laughing
And having fun.
He’s laughing with the girls,
Flirting,
Smiling.
It hurts.
I’m at the punch bowl,
Drinking cups
And cups
Of punch.
It’s a sad world I live in.
Are you having fun?
He asks me.
I shake my head.
Why not?
He smiles.
Oh that smile.
I shrug.
You’re not a man of many words.
He laughs
That angelic laugh.
I crack a smile.
I take another sip of punch.
Let’s dance.
He says,
Pulling me to the floor,
Making me leave my punch.
I can’t dance.
He tries to get me to dance,
But I stand there like a statue.
He finally gives up,
Pulling me back out of the crowd.
I am the last one left over from the party.
I help him clean up.
When I finish,
He bids me a goodnight,
Tells me to rest up,
And that he will see me on Monday.
