He sat with me at lunch.

I died inside.

He sat next to me.

Not across,

Not a few seats away,

But next to me.

 

Is anyone sitting here?

He asks.

 

No,

I mutter.

I am having a heart attack.

He is sitting next to me.

He talked to me.

He knows who I am.
