Halloween pt. 1
My Cliche Love Story [ue]It's that time again.
When kids get high on candy,
black cats,
and full moons.
Yes, Halloween.
This time,
Luhan forced me to the dreaded school.
It was for a test of courage.
I tried to get out of it,
saying that I was no longer a student,
but he dragged me there anyway.
My mom also helped him,
forcing me into clothes,
telling me that I was going to a party.
Liars.
It’s 9 pm.
Darkness has already come,
it has covered everything.
The school looms over us,
looking bigger,
scarier than ever before.
We are split into pairs.
Luhan requested for us.
We’re the first to go in.
Every noise is like an earthquake.
The wind howls,
the trees tap the windows,
making us jump.
Luhan is scared,
clinging to me.
I try to be strong,
but I’m scared.
I never liked the dark.
I still use a nightlight.
When there are blackouts,
I cry like a baby,
scared of what lurked in the dark,
just waiting to get me.
We rest in a classroom.
A science classroom.
There’s a fake skeleton.
Luhan nearly died.
We thought it was a real person.
He began to cry.
What do I do?
I comfort him,
hold him close.
He calms down and we sit for a while.
How long are we supposed to stay in the school?
Until 12.
It’s 9:30.
2 and a half hours.
I don’t think we’ll survive.
At 10,
it starts to rain.
Lighting illuminates the science room.
Thunder shakes us up,
scaring us.
The fifth flash illuminates a silhouette in the doorway.
Luhan shrieks,
I start to shake.
We hold each other close,
praying that we’ll live through it.
It was simply another student.
He was in charge of one of the scares.
He was pretty good.
He apologized to Luhan and me,
then went on his merry way to scare others.
Luhan and I looked at each other,
laughed,
and wiped away tears.
We were such babies.
We sat in silence for another few minutes.
I felt Luhan tremble, still.
I take his hand,
holding it close.
I don’t know why.
My heart is beating a million miles an hour.
Every time lighting reveals the room,
I look to Luhan.
The tips of his ears are pink.
His face is slightly red.
Is he feeling the same way?
The next strike of lightning,
we both look to each other.
For a split second,
I see Luhan’s large orbs.
My heart beats faster,
faster.
I lean in close,
closing the distance.
So close,
so close.
You're going to hate me >.<
