Ji eun's POV

Everyday, all day, all I heard was arguing. It seems like it never stopped. We were a poor family. Just barely passing through. What made it worse was that my dad started gambling. He lost so much money. Even though they always argued, I could tell that they wanted to try to make me happy. They didn't want me involved in their problems. But I hear every single word they say. I've always wanted to see my parents be together and not arguing. I wanted to see them happy...

I was always pathetic. But one day we went out driving... It was a rainy day... I never liked the rain. It felt gloomy, and made me feel that way as well. I was thirteen, and I guess you could say I was pretty smart. I had to be smart. With my family like this. I couldn't afford to not be keep my grades up.

"Mom, where are we going?" I asked her

"We're just gonna visit some relatives." She told me

During the car ride all my parents did was argue and argue. I wanted to just yell at them, and tell them to stop arguing for once. But I couldn't. How could I yell at my parents.

While my parents were arguing my dad took his eyes off the rode for a second, I thought it would be ok. But then I saw a car coming towards us. I panicked, I didn't know what to do.

"DAD!!!" I screamed

And CRASH... Everything out...

I woke up...But  I could barely move my body. Moreover I couldn't see anything. I started to panic.

"Mom! Dad! Where are you?!" I cried

"Sshhh! It's ok. Everything is ok." I heard a voice. A male voice... But w-why can't I see? I felt my eyes with my hands and felt badanges wrapped around my head.

"W-Who are you? Where are my parents? Why can't I see?" I asked so many questions out of panic.

"Your parents have some injuries but are lucky to survive. And..." He didn't finish his sentence.

"And what?" I asked

"I'm sorry... But... The crash hit some nerves and now... You're blind. I'm sorry." He said in a soft voice

"I-I...I'm blind?" I started to cry

"I'm sorry... You'll learn how to get used to it." He said

Get used to it?! I don't want to get used to being blind... I-I want to see. I wanted to see the day of when my family would be happy! I... I wanted to see the days of when I would be happy! This... This is not what I wanted! Why must this happen to me?! I cried, and sobbed. Is this supposed to be the life I'm supposed to live with... 

When my body felt better, I began to stand up. I had no idea where I was but at least I can still move. I was scared. What if I hit something... I started walking and felt the wall. I walked against the wall, and then hit a table.

"Owww.." I felt my waist

"Hey! You shouldn't be standing up yet!" A lady said, I ignored her and kept walking. I tripped over something, but someone caught me.

"I told you that you shouldn't be standing or walking yet." The lady scolded me

"But I want to... I want to wander around places. I don't want to stay here." I told her as I sat down on the bed

"Here." She handed me a stick

"What's this?" I asked, feeling the stick that she gave me

"It's a cane. It'll help you know if you're gonna hit anything." She said

"Thank you." I nodded, I had no idea where she was. But I was able to hear her voice

"May I ask what your name is? And how old you are?" I asked the lady

"My name is Song Jihyo. And I'm curently thirty years old right now." She said

"Song Ji hyo... That's a nice name." I said

"Thank you, now I'm gonna be watching over you for a while so don't cause a lot of trouble. And you wanna learns how to walk around right? Then you have to follow what I tell you to do." She told me

I nodded at what she said. I wonder how my parents are right now? Are they still here? Are they awake? Are they ok? I wanted to see them. But now that I can't I just want to hear them... I just want to hear them tell me that everythings going to be ok...

"Hey Ji hyo..." 

"Yes?"

"How long will it take me to get used to walking around with this cane?" I asked her

"It will take a while, but don't worry. You seem like a fast learner." She said. I wonder what Ji hyo looks like... I wonder if she's pretty...

It's been a few days since the accident. I still asked if I could go see my parents, and they finally allowed me too. Although I couldn't see anything Ji hyo led me there.

"Ji eun?" I heard my name

"Ji eun, over here." I heard

"Mom? Dad?" I asked

"It's your mom." She said

"Mom..." I tried to find my way, and then I was embraced into a pair of arms

"I'm so sorry Ji eun... You...You can't see anymore." She cried

"It's fine mom... Are you ok?" I asked

"I'm fine... So is your dad." She said

"That's good to hear." I smiled, well who knows if it looked like a smile or not

"Ji eun... Are you ok?" My mom asked me

"I'm fine... Really" It was a lie... and I'm guessing everyone should know it was a lie. I wasn't ok, it wasn't fine. Nobody wants to be blind. I wanted to just cry all day.

This accident changed everything. It changed me. I was a hopeless child. I knew I could probably never see again. My family was poor. We could never afford the surgery. All my hope was just gone.
