Fast Friends
A Grand AdventureJiyul sat down at her desk quietly and played with the ends of her dress, a nervous habit of hers that she developed at such a young age. I miss mommy and daddy. She thought to herself wistfully, counting the the time until she would be able to see her parents again.
Jung Jiyul had never been completely alone before. Whenever she was separated from her parents, she was always left in the care of trusted relatives or her parents would just be in the other room. But unlike those times, she was completely alone now. She just met the teachers and she didn't have anyone to talk to. Pre-school was turning out to be just as scary as she thought.
“Hi.”
Jiyul turned to the right, towards the sound of the voice but quickly looked away as soon as she made eye contact. “Uh...hi.” She shyly greeted, refusing to look at the boy.
“You're cute!” Jiyul saw the boy getting closer to her and carefully scooted away. She never did too well with strangers. The boy wasn't discouraged and continued to talk to Jiyul despite her small responses. “What's your name?” The little girl took some time before responding. “..I'm Jiyul.”
“My name is Jungkook!” The boy now introduced wildly, much more enthusiastic than anyone else Jiyul had ever met. “I think you're pretty.”
At the innocent compliment, Jiyul straightened up and finally stared at the boy. She smiled and said, “Thank you.”
“I like you're dress too!”
She was beginning to like this boy. He said nice things to her and was the only kid in the classroom that had talked to her. “Thanks.”
“Do you like my pants?” Park Jungkook, the dimpled-smile boy with dark brown hair, desperately wanted the girl with the flower clip to talk to him. She was cute and she was wearing a blue dress – his favorite color and his dad always said to talk to pretty girls. And Jiyul was the prettiest!
Jiyul smiled and nodded, “They're nice.” Jungkook liked Jiyul's smile. Her eyes turned into curvy worms and he liked worms.
“Thanks. My daddy got them for me.” He explained, finally noticing that the girl in blue wasn't so shy around him anymore. "Do you like cookies?"
The two children continued to converse with one another, ignoring the presence of anyone else and asked each other any questions that came to mind. They went on to stick to each other's side for the rest of the day and even shared lunches, trading cookies for goldfish crackers and even exchanging juice boxes. They hit it off immediately and they both knew, this would be the start to a great friendship.
