Description
Park Chanyeol is 211 years old and fate has frozen him as an 18 year old. He has neither ambitions nor dreams and over the years, he has become rather cynical and sarcastic. Chanyeol was granted immortality from a diety whom deemed his beauty worthy of enternal life on Earth. But such a great gift comes with a curse and for Chanyeol, the curse comes in the form of a man. A man he loves.
Byun Baekhyun is a smart and steadfast 20 year old who is dying from a disease that no doctor has been able to diagnose. Unknown to Baekhyun, he is the 5th life or the 4th reincarnation of a man named Kim Junmyun, the love of Chanyeol's life. Baekhyun's illness is the consequence of his past life falling in love with Chanyeol, and it was the love Junmyun and all his reincarnations shared with Chanyeol that killed them. This was the price Chanyeol had to pay for a gift that was forced upon him and he could do nothing about it.
Chanyeol has tried hard to keep away from the past lives Junmyun, Kyungsoo, Yixing, and Sehun but failed miserably and they all died a painful death from unknown illnesses. Chanyeol is tired from all the suffering and dispair he has experienced for two centuries and he has made the decision to keep as far away as possible from Baekhyun so that he can save Baekhyun and protect his own heart. But there is something different about this lifetime and Chanyeol doesn't really know what it is. He can only hope it'll be a little less devastating than the last.
Foreword
This is a request fanfic from a good friend. She wanted a Baekhyun x Chanyeol love story that's kind of supernatural so I thought I'd go with immortality and reincarnation. I'm not very familiar with Exo but I researched and tried my best. I hope you like it. There will be some strong language in here but not too much.
Setting:
2014 - 2015 at HongIk Univeristy (not a real university), Bucheon, South Korea.
Characters:
Park Chanyeol: A 211 year old immortal who is cynical and sarcastic. Despite the way he downplays his suffering with sarcasm, he is extremely heartbroken and tired of life. He is in love with Baekhyun.
Byun Baekhyun: A smart and steadfast 20 year old suffering from an unknown illness. He got sick when he was about 13-14 years old. He is the reincarnation of Chanyeol's lover, Kim Junmyun. He falls in love with Chanyeol.
Kim Junmyun: Inspired by Suho. An unassuming and gentle man who was Chanyeol's lover but had died 191 years ago. He has reincarnated several times and Baekhyun is his 4th reincarnation/5th life.
Do Kyungsoo: Inspired by Kyungsoo/DO. He was a musician who was a little hot headed and blunt. He played the Ajaeng which is a classical zither instrument. He is Junmyun's 1st reincarnation/2nd life.
Zhang Yixing: Inspired by Lay. He was very skilled and handsome but because he was ill and had auburn eyes, his family cast him aside. He was loyal and responsible and the only Non-Korean reincarnation. He is the 2nd reincarnation/3rd life of Junmyun.
Oh Sehun: Inspired by Sehun. He is mischievious, skeptical, but also very affectionate. He has always been kind of brash due to his dysfunctional family but he wholeheartedly trusted Chanyeol. He is Junmyun's 3rd reincarnation/4th life.
Yoon Seulhye (OC): A famous neuropsychologist and Professor/Researcher of Neuropsychology at HongIk University. She was Baekhyun's doctor at one point and is Baekhyun's older brother's ex-girlfriend. She is currently 33 years old.
Byun Jaehyun (OC): A famous virologist/diagnostician and older brother to Baekhyun by 12 years. He has been trying to diagnose and cure Baekhyun every since he got sick. He is extremely protective of his brother after their parents died in a car accident. Baekhyun was 7 and he was 19. He is currently 32 years old.
