Halloween Trick
Every DaySerin would have been lying if she said that Soohyun kissing her husband the day after they’d gotten married didn’t make her a little jealous. After all, they’d only gotten married one day prior, she’d been robbed of a wedding night due to their busy schedule and a Halloween event in Japan, and she hadn’t even seen him for the entirety of the first full day they were husband and wife. So the small twinge of jealousy she felt did not seem unwarranted. However, despite the nearly inconsequential (and easily ignored) feeling, she was going to give Soohyun a hard time about it. That was Hoonbi’s idea.
They had, rather spontaneously, decided to have a small Halloween party just among the four of them. Serin and Hoonbi had been left to get everything together on their own, and over the course of their preparations, Hoonbi had asked her what she’d thought about the kiss. She laughed. “Hoonmin asked me the same thing.”
“And…?” Hoonbi promted.
“I don’t really care. Sure, I’m a little jealous that Soohyun got to and I didn’t, but I mean, it’s not the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last. It’s a waste of energy to get upset over it.”
“Oh,” Hoonbi said, sounding disappointed.
Serin gave him a questioning look. “Why do you seem down about that?”
“I was hoping I could watch you give Soohyun a hard time. But I guess not.”
“Why exactly do you want me to give him a hard time?” Serin questioned.
“Oh well… I’m just getting rather fed up with his constant and inclination toward waking me up at all hours by being so noisy.”
“Sounds like you need a one-on-one chat with him.”
“Yeah. But I was really hoping I could watch you make him squirm by being upset with him. It would have been really funny.”
Serin considered for a moment. “Well.. I could always pretend. Messing with Soohyun could be fun. Just as long as I don’t make him cry.”
Hoonbi grinned at her then, and the two continued to plan their prank while decorating and planning food and costumes.

Halloween night they all made their way to what was now only Soohyun and Hoonbi’s apartment. Serin had been over since leaving work that evening in order to finish preparations. Hoon and Soohyun showed up after they were finished for the day. Hoon frowned when he saw Serin’s costume. She had perfectly replicated Bulma. Bright blue wig with matching contact lenses, yellow-orange miniskirt jumpsuit with a matching jacket emblazoned with a Capsule Corp logo. She looked as though she’d walked right out of an episode of Dragon Ball. His problem wasn’t with the quality of the costume, though he was a bit irked at her for not telling him she was wearing it because he’d have traded the pumpkin hat in for a Vegeta costume so he could match her. The idea of a couple costume was very appealing to him. As she hadn’t mentioned it to him, he hadn’t even gotten the chance. The thing that bothered him most though was how much leg she was flaunting. It was highly attractive to him, and he worried that Soohyun and Hoonbi might find it as attractive as he did. When he mentioned it to her, she’d made a joke about how she had bloomers under the skirt, so he didn’t need to worry. (A/N: The joke is that Bulma's original name is pronounced Buruma in DB... bloomers.)
Still, he couldn’t stop staring at her, and throughout dinner, he worried that the other two were struggling as much as he was. He was so preoccupied with his protective inclinations that he didn’t notice what was actually going on. Serin had immediately and intentionally given Soohyun the cold shoulder, and the atmosphere was steadily getting more and more awkward.
“Serin,” Soohyun asked cautiously as they all ate their own slice of pumpkin flavored cake, “what’s up?”
“Nothing," she said shortly, not meeting his eyes. She also couldn’t look at Hoonbi. She knew that if she did, she’d start laughing and give herself away.
“You’re not speaking to me,” Soohyun insisted. “What did I do?” He then began suggestion things that could perhaps be the source of her irritation. “Is it something with Amanda?” She scoffed at him. That was months ago. “Oh… are you mad that I kissed Hoonmin last week?”
She glared at him, hoping her acting was convincing enough.
“Ah,” Soohyun said. Her expression must have led him to believe the façade she was wearing. “I didn’t mean to. Kiseop pulled the plastic out,” he explained.
“Hmmph,” she replied, still avoiding eye contact. “You’ve kissed him more that I have since I married him.”
Hoon caught that and denied the claim. “He has not.”
She glanced over at Soohyun and could see how visibly upset he was. Before she had the opportunity to laugh, she stood up and marched to the bathroom, not saying a word.
When she was gone, Soohyun looked over at Hoon in desperation. “What did I do? How do I fix things with her?”
“What’s she mad about?” Hoon asked for clarification. He truly didn’t know. He hadn’t been paying attention to much else beside how tempting her legs were in that miniskirt.
“Me kissing you at the Halloween event.”
“No, she’s not,” he stated. “I asked her. She said she didn’t care.”
“But… but that’s the only thing it could be. What did I do?”
Hoonbi burst out laughing then at his anguished tone. “You pissed me off is what you did,” he explained then. “I asked her to mess with you some. Because your wandering really gets on my nerves and you could use a little reward for that.”
Soohyun frowned at him. “That’s really mean, Hoonbi. I’m hurt.”
“Wear pants, and I won’t drag Serin into making you feel bad.”
She walked back out after a few moments, and she saw the look of relief on Soohyun’s face. “Sorry about that, Soohyun,” she said good-naturedly. “Hoonbi asked me to, and I thought messing with you a little would be fun.”
“It’s fine. I’ll make sure to get him back sometime.”
Serin went and sat next to Hoon then. He was really in awe of her costume. It was so realistic that he actually believed she was Bulma. It was making his heart race. He had to keep himself together until the party was over, but with her proximity, staying focused was proving difficult. Once more he wished he was Vegeta. Only not dressed in a costume. He wished he was actually Vegeta and actually had the ability to fly. He wished he could whisk the lovely Bulma sitting at his side through the air back home as quickly as possible. Alas, he could not, and so he waited for time to fly by at it’s considerably slower pace.
