Description

There were three things that made sense to Rhine: isolation, pain, and distrust. She thought life was all of that and that happiness was just a far away destination. But all of that changed when she became a trainee under YG Entertainment and found herself trapped in a love triangle. Her view on life began to shift to happiness, trust, and connection.
Happiness.
It was an emotion Rhine thought long dead, but the more time she spent with Bobby, the emotion was tangible. The way he made her laugh without effort was the reason why she kept waking up every morning. He was her source of joy, but why was his brightness beginning to dull each passing day?
Trust.
After all she had been through, Rhine couldn’t bring herself to trust anyone anymore. But the way that Hanbin opened up to her and didn’t hesitate to listen was what made her learn to trust again. She promised herself to take caution, but he was breaking the walls she built.
Connection.
Both being from overseas, Rhine and Bobby connected instantly. It’s due to being homesick that made it easy for them to understand each other. Through every obstacle, they found comfort in each other. Raised from wealthy families, Rhine and Hanbin knew the feeling of being abandoned. They hardly saw their parents and sometimes it felt like the world was unfair, but during those moments, they found each other.

Rhine watched him stand there as he tried to hold himself together. His eyes fogged over as he tried to make sense of what she just said. Rhine’s lips kept moving as desperation and guilt crossed her face, but he didn’t seem to hear a thing she was saying. He looked like he was about to cry, but he didn’t. Pain and betrayal flashed across his face as he ran his fingers through his hair and avoided her eyes. He was losing his mind.
“I’m sorry,” Rhine repeated.
He shook his head and looked down at his shoes in disbelief. He never thought anything could hurt that bad, but once again Rhine proved him wrong. She was out of his grasp for sure and it tormented him. He never thought possible that he would be the second option.
Rhine studied the way his eyebrows furrowed and his lips trembled. He had always been there for her when she needed somebody the most. She remembered all the times he waited for her after practice and all the encouragements he gave her. She watched him throw his head back in frustration and anger. She knew for sure what he was going to occupy himself with tonight, but it wasn’t her place to tell him not to do something stupid. She no longer meant anything to him anymore.
He let out a laugh like he’s been stabbed in the back and he looked accusingly at her. Right then, Rhine knew that he would never be the one.
