13: The Talk
Bamboo GardenI sat in the middle of Donghae's bed and watched in amusement as my roommate drifted around the room like a lost soul. Leeteuk was making him come back to work and his first job was going to be a magazine shoot in Japan for a few days. The plane would be leaving first thing in the morning, so my roommate needed to pack before going to bed, but whenever his eyes landed on the suitcase at the foot of the bed it was like he was seeing it for the first time. When he did eventually throw something into the suitcase he would ultimately shake his head and replace it with something else.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Huh? Yeah. Why?"
"You seem confused."
"Oh... I dunno. I don't really want to go, so my brain is all over the place."
"You don't want to go? I thought you'd be excited about going back to work."
"I'd rather just stay here and play with you."
"Yeah right. You'd rather stay home and watch cartoons with me than travel to a foreign country and sleep with beautiful women?"
"Ahh, condoms! Thanks for reminding me..." Donghae threw his whole box of condoms into the suitcase. "And yes, to answer your question, I'd rather watch cartoons with you."
"Liar. You went from having everyday to not having in... how long has it been? A month? Your is probably having withdrawals."
Donghae wadded up the t-shirt in his hands and threw it at me. "I'm not lying and it's been almost two months," he muttered. I rolled my eyes in disbelief and my roommate huffed at me. "If you must know, I don't bring women home to have with them, I bring them home to sleep with them."
"How romantic," I said with a smirk.
"What I mean is, I have trouble sleeping alone, I don't like it. If I have with a girl then she is more likely to cuddle and sleep over."
"So what you're saying is that you don't like having , you'd rather cuddle? That's so cute!"
" you. I didn't say I don't like the ."
"I know you stopped seeing those girls because you ran out of money, but you've been paid since then. How come you didn't start dating again?"
"Because I was dating you," he said with a shrug.
My heart skipped a beat and my brain turned to jelly. "Huh?"
Donghae laughed at the look on my face. "You know what I mean. We've been hanging out, so I haven't been lonely."
"Oh."
"Which brings us back to the beginning. I like hanging out with you more than sleeping around."
"I think that might be the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me."
"Although sometimes I think you're as easy as those girls..."
"Hey ! I am not easy! I turned you down when you wanted to sleep with me!"
"Yeah, I guess that's true. How come only the people I actually care about are the ones that turn me down?" Donghae sat next to his suitcase and pouted.
"Aww, you're such a big baby." I crawled over to my roommate and gave him a back hug. "Just because someone turns you down the first time, doesn't mean you should stop trying."
Donghae turned around with a sparkle in his eye and pushed me down onto the bed. He hovered over me and I bit my lip as I looked up at him. "Really? So you're ready to have with me now?"
"I didn't mean that!" I pushed on his chest, but instead of getting off of me he caught my hands and held them trapped over my head, then he laid down with the full weight of his body on top of mine. "Oof! Have you gained weight? ! Get off of me!"
"Then what did you mean? It sounded like you just asked me to chase after you."
Did I want Donghae to chase after me? Ye
