“I want to tell you something.” I look at her as she stood in front of me. It was prom night. She looked so beautiful in her blue and white gown. She looked like a princess.

“what is it, Kevin?”

“can I stay over the tonight? After the party?”

“of course!”

We slowly walked inside the gym. We had a great night. I was her first and last dance

We were at her room

“Kevin, I know you want to tell me something” she says and sits beside me

“I don’t know if I can” I intertwine my fingers

“you can tell me anything” she touches my cheek

I slowly inhale and sigh “I love you” I whisper

“I love you too.” She says and smiles

“I mean, I really love you. This is more than friendship. I love you romantically” I say almost choking on my words

“me too. But I think we’re not on the same degree of love”

“please.”

“we’ll try, okay? We’ll see what happens”

She suddenly kisses me on the lips

Things didn’t really work out. I did all the effort. She never really loved me back more than I wanted her to. I expected too much and in the end I was left with a broken heart. We still remained friends, though. But it still hurt

“you look too happy today” I say and ruffle her hair

“Donghae asked me out!” she hit my arm because of her happiness

“what did you say?”
