Final Chapter

Forever

“Where the hell is that bambi?!” Chen hissed, tapping his foot impatiently on the concrete floor. The church was already filled with white and shining decorations, coming from Stargazers, veils and even stars hanging on the high coloured glass ceilings. Friends and families were already seated on their respective places, and the members of the entourage were already lined up by the porch according to their roles. The Bride who was supposed to arrive the last was already there as well.

Looking around, everything was finally set. Everything looked completely perfect. Everyone was just waiting for the main event.

On the contrary, the groom was still running late.

Completely enraged by his friend’s carelessness, Chen called Kai with gritted teeth. “Oi, you better tell that good for nothing man that if he doesn’t arrive here in one second then the wedding’s off—“

His words were halted however, when his face was met by a stem of baby’s breath. “Oppa, stop being mean to Lu Han!” Jaera exclaimed from inside the limousine, the creases of her brows still very apparent despite her face being covered by a sheer white veil. “He just got out of the hospital last week so cut him some slack.”

“Now now Jongdae, you should be gentler to Lu Han.” Seongim’s face appeared from behind the limousine’s windows, a small smile displayed on her vermillion lips. “After all, he’ll be your brother-in-law. After this, he’ll finally be a part of our family.”

“Your mother’s right, son. Besides, we’re the ones who made him into a crippling patient anyway.” Joongki smirked at the memory, patting Chen and Kai’s shoulders, silencing the two. “Though seriously, where’s that bastard…”

Hearing their father’s remark, Chen and Kai didn’t waste any more second and continued tapping on their phones furiously, quickly forgetting their mother and sister’s words. Seeing the two brothers’ actions, Sehun laughed. “Chen-hyung’s just being bitter since his younger sister got married earlier than him.” He then smirked as he saw the older male looking at him, dumbfounded. “You’re what, twenty-six and still girlfriendless.”

With wide and enraged eyes, Chen huffed. “Why you little—“ Although before he could even touch Sehun, Lay and Xiumin had already grabbed hold of his arms, rendering him immobile.

And right exactly at that moment, a tall, slim man in a white sleek tux suddenly came running from the parking lot, his black hair kept neatly and his suit adorned with a big pink stargazer on its front. With each step, his face shone and his hair sparkled. Despite the striking and dashing appearance of the male though, his temple was filled with sweat, his left cheek was adorned with a band aid, and his expression was one of pure anxiety—as if he was facing death once more.

And seeing Chen, Kai, and Joongki’s cold glares towards him, he did feel like he was going to face another round of physical torture.

“Sorry, I’m late! I—“

“Lu Han-hyung, you little piece of ! I swear I’ll—“

Before Chen could even give the older male a piece of his mind, Kris and Sehun had already dragged Lu Han inside the church, all the while informing Jisoo, the maid of honour, that the groom had finally arrived. Whilst the recessional was being prepared by the coordinators, both Kris and Sehun immediately stationed Lu Han where the groom should be—at the end of the aisle; in front of the altar.

“What the do you think you’re doing running late on the day of your own wedding?! You really want to get beaten up by Uncle Joongki, Chen, and Kai again, huh.” Kris hissed, giving Lu Han a look of contempt as though his brother did something grave—well, indeed, he did something very grave. “I know that you’re stupid, but I didn’t know that you can be this stupid.”

“Trust me, hyung,” Sehun spoke, rolling his eyes at Lu Han who bit his lower lip, trying to regain his steady breathing. “I saw worse.”

Lu Han frowned, seeing both Kris and Sehun, his two best men giving him scrutinizing looks. It’s not like he wanted to be late. Heck, the day before the wedding, no matter how much forcing Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Lay, and Xiumin did, he didn’t go out. Partly because his body was still aching (anybody would if they were to undergo the wrath of the Kims), but mostly because he was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to go home early or something out of the ordinary would suddenly happen to him, something that would hinder him from being able to wake up still the next day.

He knew that the probability of it happening was very low, yet just the thought of not being able to attend his wedding day scared him just as much as cable cars makes his insides churn. Lu Han wasn’t a paranoid, but he wouldn’t deny the fact that he was, utterly and absolutely, nervous. Too much even, that he wasn’t able to sleep all night—the main reason why he ended up being late.

It wasn’t a foolish reason though, since any man, perhaps, would be really nervy about their own wedding. Sometimes, even worse than the bride herself. There’s this superstitious belief that a bride and groom shouldn’t meet each other the day before their exact wedding day, so the tension and trepidation increases greatly.

More so for Lu Han since he and Jaera hadn’t seen each other in person for a week.

“Han, I know you’re nervous and all, but relax,” Kris said, patting the younger male’s shoulder with a smile. “You wouldn’t want your child to make fun of you in the future, right?”

To be precise, Lu Han, Jaera, and their child to be, hadn’t seen each other for a week.

The moment that the Kims knew of Jaera’s pregnancy, all hell broke loose. Not even the good relationship of Yi Han and Joongki was able to spare Lu Han, for within an hour after he found out about the real situation, blood practically spilled in the house. The night of the same day, Lu Han was admitted to the hospital, his body black and blue all over.

Kris couldn’t even recognize him initially, for looking at Lu Han was just like looking at a salvaged corpse. He thought that his younger brother was victimized by a gang at first, and was even about to call the police and their family lawyer about the matter. Though upon knowing the real reason behind Lu Han’s admittance to the hospital, Kris didn’t even think twice and thank the Kims for a job well done.

It was a win-win situation for Kris, actually. Not only did the Kims pacify the male completely, but they also did the one thing that he had always dreamed of doing—to knock some sense into Lu Han’s reckless mind.

And of course, with Jaera being pregnant, plans for her and Lu Han’s wedding were finally put into action.

Jaera and Lu Han had actually already planned for the wedding even before they knew of the sudden addition to the family, so there wasn’t much of a problem with the preparations. Although, it was rather unfortunate for Lu Han’s part since he wasn’t able to help Jaera at all, seeing as he was bedridden for a whole week. There wasn’t much to be done anyway and the coordinators that they got were really helpful, but he still felt bad since it was their wedding and being the greasy person that he was, he wanted to be the one to prepare for it. Even when Jaera already assured him, he still didn’t feel any better.

Well, who would when there were two devil’s spawns that would always judge him incessantly inside his hospital room saying stuffs like, “You really are a worthless piece of ,” “I can’t believe you managed to fool our sister, I didn’t think she was that stupid,” and “Seriously, you really are a worthless piece of .”

But then again, even if he had to writhe in pain for a whole week, had to be deprived of Jaera for almost a month, and had to be tortured by three people—three devil-like people, all of whom were now listed in his list of persons who are not to be messed with—Lu Han was still in bliss.

Jaera was finally going to be his now. He was finally going to be Jaera’s now.<
