In school, Mark was more or less ignored. He paid no attention to the girls nor did they he. Friendship was difficult enough, he never went for anything more. He was not the son of some large company nor was he some genius. He was the foreigner from some far-off place that scarcely seemed to exist. Of course, before exams every year he seemed to make an explosion of new friends just-so-happening to be poor with English.
Despite this, Mark had managed to sustain a friendship with someone completely the opposite. Jackson Wang. Jackson was known for his playfulness, and being a trainee for the next big group at JYP Entertainment was an added spotlight. A spotlight that Jackson embraced and enjoyed; a spotlight that Mark knew and had to be wary of. Mark was slowly distancing the friendship, little by little. He had gotten the idea by something his father once said. "You can cook a frog alive if you slowly raise the temperature, little by little. It won't notice the change, and then it will be dead." It probably had a different application intended in a lecture, but it was working well enough in this situation. Slowly push away from everyone, until they will hardly notice when you're gone. So when Jackson was busy shining, with the girls swooning at every breath he took in their presence, Mark slipped away. "It's too pathetic to even watch."
