     And it was a night in Autumn when these words circled around in Mark's mind like pesky moths. He dreamed of Los Angeles, he dreamed of three years ago--until he felt sick to his stomach. And this sickness didn't come from that suspicious-tasting chili--well, actually it might have. More importantly, this illness was one stronger than food poisoning, an infection of his mind. The symptons? Sick of being watched like a hawk, sick of international phone calls, sick of being useless, sick of being alone. It was an Autumn night  when the loneliness, like termites, settled in and ate away.

     And it was an Autumn night when tears and a guitar sympathized together. Words flowing from Jenni's hurt straight into a beautiful future. It was an Autumn night when the stars watched over them both knowingly. Things were not okay.
