“Yeah, Himchan, this is Yongguk. Sorry to do this to you, but I’m going to have to cancel our golf date tomorrow.” Yongguk said using the phone in Suzy’s room. Suzy was already out of the shower but even with the bathroom door closed, she could still hear the conversation. If it was a private call, he should have made it while he was at home. It wasn’t as though she wanted to eavesdrop.
“I know, I know,” he said. “But you know how it goes in this business. Emergencies crop up and I have to deal with them.” He was silent for a few moments before he laughed and said, “No, my emergency isn’t blonde. This is all business, strictly business. Tell your wife I’ll be out on Monday and get the measurements. Okay buddy, I’ll see you next weekend.”
Suzy is getting her hair done. In the next few minutes she will be ready to go out. Tonight she was going for a black dress and a ponytail. She took an objective survey of herself and nodded.
When she opened the door, she discovered Yongguk kicked back in one of the plush chair in front of the television, his sock-clad feet on the coffee table, his jacket draped across the bed. Without looking at Suzy, he said, “When does this thing begin?”
“We have about half an hour.”
Yongguk clicked off the television and sat up. “Good. I have more questions.”
Suzy walked over and sat down in the matching chair and folded her hands in her lap. “All right. Ask.”
