Park Jaesang gazed fondly at a picture of his young daughter. It captured a moment a long time ago. Sandara was only 5 at the time. He had taken her to the local fair on a lazy saturday afternoon. Dara was nervous to ride the giant pink horse that was a part of the carousel ride, her small lips quivering as she shook her head from side to side as she clutched the fluffy pink bear her father won for her at the games.

“Appa, I don’t WANT to ride! It will bite me!”

“Aigoo Sandara, the horse will not bite you. See? It’s fake,” Jaesang said, patting the head. Dara’s head cocked to the side, her eyes narrowing.

“But it’s so high up! What if I fall?” she asked softly. Jaesang sighed and bent down so that he was at eye level with his daughter. “I promise I will not let anything happen to you.”

“Promise?” she asked, holding out her small pinky finger. Jaesung chuckled and hooked his own pinky finger with hers.

“I promise.”

Jaesung looked up. Seventeen years later, Sandara Park was taller, more beautiful, and very intelligent. Yet, she stood in front of him, her eyes wide and pouting. Jaesung sighed.

“Dara, I cannot allow you to travel to America all by yourself.”

“Please appa...Chaerin will be there. I’m finished school now. I want to see the world.”

“No Sandara.”

“Appa,” Sandara sighed and bent down on her knees. She gazed up at her father. He looked down at her. “Appa, I know you care about me and you want to protect me but I’m 22 years old now. I’m far from being mature but I know you raised me right. I will do nothing that will betray your trust.”

“Dara,” Jaesang sighed and slid down from his leather chair so that he was sitting next to her. “I love you more than my own life and I don’t want anything happening to you.”

“Nothing will happen to me appa,” Sandara said, her eyes bright. She looked as though she was about to cry. Jaesang closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead. “How badly do you want this?” he asked finally.

“Very badly appa but if you don’t allow me, I will be ok with your decision,” Dara said softly.

“I’ll think about it.”

“Thank you appa,” she said. She kissed her father on the cheek then she left the room.

“WHAT??????” a harsh voice snapped. The man grasped the phone against his ear as though he was crushing the life out of the speaker from the other end.

“Y-y-es…..t-the d-dragon h-as been c-c-captured.”

“!” he yelled, grabbing his hair and pulling. He cursed and kicked at a wooden chair. His head was spinning.

“S-sir? A-are you s-still-” The man hung up the phone and began to pace. One of his best men has gotten caught and now his whole operation was ruined. He scratched at his forehead absently as though the answers would be uncovered. As though an idea suddenly came to him, he began to dial a number.

“Hello?”

“Seunghyun, what happened?” he asked. He could almost hear the shrug of the younger man.

“Ask Seungri, he was in charge of the escape vehicle.”

“Seungri…” he groaned. Of course the youngest would mess up so badly. That kid would probably lose his head if it wasn’t screwed on tight. The man clutched the phone tightly. “Tell him to fix it.”

“Fine.”

He hung up the phone and sighed. Jiyong was smart. He could figure out how to get out of any situation. He nodded to himself, convincing himself that everything will be fine. He was YG for goodness sakes. He had the best trained men on his side.

He will get his work done.
