And suddenly you hold my heart.

The doorbell rings when the housewarming party is on a full swing, and Lee Sungmin almost doesn’t want to get up from his spot from the couch but his roommate is busy to entertain some of his friends so he really didn’t have any choice. And when he swings the door open, he doesn’t know what he was expecting but definitely not this. The boy – young man – was smiling brightly but kind of shyly at him, they’re almost the same size, Sungmin is a little bit taller, and his brown eyes were staring into Sungmin’s.

“H-hi, you must be Sungmin… Kyu—Kyu!”

And Sungmin’s roommate is there, scooping the small man in a hug, swinging him around, almost hitting Sungmin in a progress. The man laughs, rich and high, and it kind of rings nicely in Sungmin’s ears.

“Wookie, I thought you were totally joking when you said you would be here! You made it!”

“Yes, the flight was on time and… yeah, I made it!” They both grin like idiots and Sungmin realizes that a small suitcase was set next to the door.  

“You let your hair grow! Oh God, you need to cut it!”

Sungmin watches as his roommate runs his hand through the young man’s hair, tugging gently. The man lets out a giggle, and if Sungmin’s isn’t seeing things, leans into a touch.

“I was planning to, you will join me right?”

His roommate nods and finally realizes Sungmin is still there.

“Oh! Sungmin!”

He turns to Sungmin, his hand leaving the other man’s hair, and Sungmin smiles as the petite man also swifts his eyes on him.

“This is my best friend, Kim Ryeowook, the one I have been telling you about!”

Sungmin extends his hand and Ryeowook takes it. His hand is smaller and delicate, Sungmin shakes it.

“And this, Wookie, is my most awesome roommate, Lee Sungmin.”

“It is nice to meet you finally, Sungmin-sshi”, Ryeowook says and bows. Sungmin laughs.

“Just Sungmin is fine. Kyuhyun doesn’t use honorifics, so why would you.”

Ryeowook beams and Kyuhyun has taken his suitcase, and the two of them make their way inside the house, Kyuhyun babbling about the food and how he had missed Ryeowook’s cookings, and Ryeowook laughs, his hand travelling around Kyuhyun’s waist. Sungmin shuts the door and returns to the couch but he can’t really concentrate on anything, not when Ryeowook’s laugh echoes in the apartment.

And couple of days later Sungmin painfully realizes that he is in love. He is in love with someone who is already – and had always been - loved by someone else.
