ESCAPE [discontinued]

"Okay, tell him we won't harm him," Kris said and rubbed his head.
Xiumin nodded and shouted his translation at the door. This was definitely becoming too much of a mess.
Luhan was being cured by Lay after he broke his arm, Tao was was trying to stop the engine from exploding and Xiumin was still covered in stinking dark oil that he at least managed to wipe out of his face enough to see. Kris wondered whether this really was what Chen had tried to achieve. When there was no answer, he figured that something really went wrong after all.

"Do you think they can hear us?" Xiumin mused and pushed back his smeary hair to stop more oil from getting into his face.
"I'm sure they can," he muttered and folded his arms in front of his chest. He had to sort his thoughts to solve this. Chen was smart enough to knock Tao out and to lock him and Lay in. He also did something to the ship that stopped it from working properly. Instead of following their proper course they now sped into an uncertain direction. It was probably just a question of time until they were going to crash or to be shot down.

"This is all my fault," Xiumin said in frustration after the futile attempt of driving his fingers between door and frame. "He tried to get me on his side. I should have played along."
It seemed as if Chen locked Luhan and Xiumin into the kitchen, obviously misjudging the time it would take Xiumin to break down the door. He probably thought of Tao as the only real threat.
As Luhan was trying to get rid of what he thought was a bomb, Xiumin tried to divert Chen's attention, well aware that it wasn't smart to do anything to the one who had full control over the ship. But then Luhan got hurt.

"Well, there's no use crying over spilt milk," Kris said flatly. If there was anyone to blame for this, it was him anyway. Not that he would have admitted that out loud but it was his own naivety that caused the whole dilemma.
"What are the powers of the people inside?" He really hoped that Chen's plan wasn't some kind of suicide mission in which he forced them to fight, so that he could get away as they were distracted.

Xiumin furrowed his brows as he tried to recall who else was in the cell. "Well, there's Chen, so electricity. The rest are water, earth, wind,..." He counted using his fingers. "One can make light and the last one is that police guy who can teleport."
Right. The guy who came from the Special Forces. He knew that it was a risk to take someone with proper combat experiences but he obviously would have brought them a lot of money, so he had trusted Xiumin's judgement when he scouted the guy. Xiumin, too, seemed to realize that mistake and looked even more miserable.

"And then fire, huh?" Kris sighed. It was as if they had a small army behind that damn door.

"We don't know about that yet," Xiumin immediately threw in. "I don't think that Chanyeol would-."
Kris gestured him to stop. "Let's just assume the worst for now. They're a bunch of Koreans, we are," he said and paused for a second. To him they were all Chinese but it wasn't really the time to argue about nationality now. It was them, the members of the ship, against the others behind the door. "Well, anyway, the point is that they have the advantage if it's about strength."

"But I mean, if there's one of ours inside, we could," Xiumin began but stopped when he realized that Kris wasn't going to discuss the issue. Whatever deep friendship Xiumin thought he had built up within that short time, he wasn't going to hope that a guy who only followed along because his only option was death, would help them break down a budding riot.
Sure, he liked Canlie well enough but right now he wasn't even sure what went on inside and if he really was on their side, the guys inside probably wouldn't just let him fight them anyway. Maybe he was dead already.

"This is giving me headaches," he muttered. Because there was nothing he could do for the moment.

"So I guess this isn't really the right time to give an update?" Tao suddenly asked behind them and caused Kris to almost jump up in surprise. "I mean, it's kind of important."

"I hope you found a way to open the door," he said lamely.

"Well, I think the door is our least problem," Tao said apathetically. "Looks like we're going to crash in a bit."
