“He likes you.”

Sungmin rolled his eyes at his co-worker who smiled sheepishly at him while fixing a drink for a young man who had just walked in the cafe.

“You don’t believe me? I bet that if you touch his hand when you give him his drink, he will drop it.”

“You are ridiculous”, Sungmin murmured and turned to smile at the young boy now at the counter.

“Hi, your drink is almost done!”

“Hi, ah, thank you, so thoughtful of you, Sungmin.”

“It’s fine, you visit here so often we know your regular drink already”, his co-worker stated, grinning. The boy laughed awkwardly and Sungmin turned back to him, boy’s drink in his hand.

“Don’t care about him, it’s good you like our café so much. It’s nice to have regulars, don’t you think?”

And like wanting to show his co-worker how childish he was, Sungmin let his hand brush against young boy’s as he offered the drink to him.

The cup slipped and spilled the content on the table and Sungmin jumped back to avoid the hot liquid from spilling all over him. The boy on the other side of the counter gasped. His co-worker started to laugh hysterically and that made the young boy blush and stammer.

“Oh my God, I’m sorry… I… I’m so sorry… I was…was… just not paying attention oh God, I will---“

Sungmin took a hold of boy’s wrist as his hand dangerously neared the cup and the mess.

“Ryeowook, go sit down, I will bring you another one, okay?”

The boy’s eyes were wide and Sungmin was sure he was going to cry at any minute.

“B-but…”

“Please?”

Ryeowook let out a small whimper, then he lowered his gaze and Sungmin let him go. When he was out of the earshot Hyukjae, his good-for-nothing co-worker offered the dishcloth to him.

“What did I told you?”

“Shut up.”
