"Good bye, my love"

That voice. She knew that voice for the whole of her life.

Won...

Then it hit her.

She rushed forward expecting to be greeted by his strong arms wrapping themselves around her. She wanted to feel that sense of security she suddenly missed.

Instead, she was greeted with nothing but thin air.

She stumbled over something. Bending down, she felt around looking for the object that made her trip. Soon, her hands came into contact with something soft. Her hands desperately grabbed onto it. It's aroma filled the air.

She remembered that scent. They were roses.

Holding the roses close to her, she ran her fingers across them, picturing how pretty they must look like. A small smile formed on her round face. She held them up.

Cling

A small object fell from their stem.

She felt around again.

Her fingers met with the familiar rough texture from years ago.

A pang of guilt hit her. She broke down.

She felt it's uneven edges cut the skin on her fingers but she didn't mind. She thought she deserved it.

I cried myself to sleep that night. 

Then, i remembered the paper with the deal.

I decided that i might as well get rid of everything. I wanted to forget. I knew it was going to be difficult but i needed to get over her. She'd want me to. 

I struggled to get up. I've been a wreck. 

Opening the slip of paper, i saw a familiar cursive writing. 

It wasn't mine, though. 

The message was different too. 

"Happy new year, Won

I love you"

Attached to the back was the same ring from 16 years ago.

She remembered.
