I opened my eyes to a tearfilled, blurry vision. Fiery pain surged through my veins. They were still yelling but it was only background noise. My attention focused on the tender, blue tinted spot on my arm. A new bruise was covering the old one as dark purples and blues emerged from underneath. I closed my eyes, trying to escape the physical pain, sharp in my body, and the emotional hurt, clear in my mind. I squeezed my eyes shut with more force, wishing for all the agony to vanish. Black and blue spots started bursting in my pitch dark vision. Oh, the black and blue follows me here too...

Then, like instinct, i ran. Ran away from my still yelling parents. Forward. I pushed past the door and out into the fresh, crisp air. The only light shone from the crescent moon and the little stars. The only sound came from my feet hitting pavement. With heavy, strained breaths, i slowed to a jog as the familiar sight of my beautiful park. I continued forward and eventually sat on the base of the wide yellow slide, layed back, and closed my eyes once again. I let the chilled air embrace me, and the night me in.
