Euphoria (hiatus)

When both boys opened their eyes from the blinding white light they realized they were no longer in Seoul.

The only thing both boys could see for miles was green.

Green plants, green trees, green moss, green grass, and green ferns were all they saw.

All of the plants were at least ten times bigger than they were.

Youngjae stepped over to the jumbo sized fern and inspected it carefully.

He ran his hand over the tip and watched as a large raindrop the size of a watermelon rolled down it and splashed beneath his feet.

“What is this place?” Sehun asked in wonder.

“I think we’re in the outer parts of Euphoria. If we take this narrow dirt path in front of us then we should reach the main part of the kingdom in an hour tops. We can even travel through the Garden of Faeries as a shortcut.” Youngjae replied excitedly as he pointed to the path in front of them.

“This all has to be a dream or something, right?” Sehun asked as they started to walk slowly down the narrow dirt path.

“I’m not sure. It’s possible though but then again no because you don’t know what Euphoria looks like and to be honest, I don’t dream about you.” Youngjae chuckled.

“Whatever.” Sehun pouted.

The walk to the Garden of Faeries was a short walk but both boys stood in awe at the sight.

There were beings that looked like humans flying around gracefully and swiftly with beautiful wings attached to their backs.

One female faerie noticed them right away and quickly flew down to meet the awestruck boys.

She was clothed in a strapless purple dress that was made of silky like material, it flowed in the breeze as she moved around, and it looked lighter than air.

Her large wings were a stunning transparent purple and they seemed to sparkle when the sunlight hit them directly.

As the faerie touched the ground both boys admired her charming looks.

She had platinum blonde hair that barely went past her chin, doe like chestnut colored eyes with thick eyelashes, rosy red cheeks, flawless creamy colored skin, and pink naturally pouty lips.

The faerie who was only a few inches shorter than Youngjae gave off a sense of innocence and childlike wonder.

“Welcome to the Garden of Faeries. My name is Nayeon.” She said in a soft and sultry voice.

“My name is Youngjae and this is my friend Sehun.” Youngjae said as he smiled at her.

Nayeon’s eyes widened as she stared at the two of them closely before she spoke,” so you two are the chosen ones? Please, how may I assist you?”

She soon bowed to both of the boys causing them to look at each other in shock.

“What does she mean by that?” Sehun whispered to Youngjae.

“I have no idea.” Youngjae shrugged as he whispered back.

“What do you mean by the chosen ones, Nayeon?” Sehun asked as he glanced at her.

“You two are the ones who will bring peace to our kingdom of Euphoria. We have waited a long time for the both of you. Please allow me to you to our gracious ruler King Daehyun.” She replied as she bowed to the both of them.

No more words were spoken as she grabbed their hands and flew into the sky.

The boys were in awe as they flew over treetops, and rolling green hills.

Euphoria was often described as paradise and the Kingdom of Gold.

When the trio arrived in the city the boys could only look on as they stood there dumbfounded.

“Let me be the first to welcome you to the heart of Euphoria. Welcome to the city of Beati.” Nayeon stated as she extended her arms out.

The streets were lined with cobblestone pathways, cottages were scattered along the streets, and the town square held a large marble fountain right in the middle of everything. Shops surrounded the giant fountain, and horse drawn carriages travelled along the streets while citizens walked happily beside them.

The male citizens were dressed in colored tunics, dark colored trousers, and black work boots. The female citizens were dressed in long sleeved cloth dresses with sashes tied around their waist. Most of the women had wavy hair that flowed all the way down their backs.

Everything about this city looked very medieval and the boys couldn’t help but feel very out of place.

“What’s wrong?” Nayeon asked them in a concerned voice.

“We don’t exactly blend in here.” Sehun said as he tugged at his polo shirt.

Nayeon chuckled quietly before she spoke, “of course then. Let us find some proper attire.”

She walked ahead of them and led them to a clothing store. The owner of the store smiled at them.

“No charge for you my fair lady. Please help yourselves. My clothes are the finest in all of Euphoria.” The old shopkeeper said as he smiled at the trio.

In the end, Youngjae had found a creamy colored tunic with golden colored strings to tie up his shirt, black trousers, black boots, and a black leather belt that he tied around his waist.

Sehun was dressed in a very similar outfit only his tunic was a dark blue color with black strings to tie up his shirt.

“Much better. Now I must take you both to the king.” Nayeon said softly as they thank the shopkeeper and headed back into the busy streets.

“Woah! Who are they?!” Sehun asked excitedly as a group of men passed by them.

The group of men all wore matching outfits and galloped down the streets on magnificent horses. They wore gold and white checkered shirts with metal woven long sleeves and hoods, black pants, black boots, and they had swords on their hips that were held in place by a sword frog.

“Those men are our kings’ army. They must be heading out on patrol now.” Nayeon replied as she walked down the street where the army once was.

The palace where the king lived was highly impressive.

It was made of pure gold even the pathway to it was made of pure gold.

Water fountains stood on either side of the pathway and evergreen trees were firmly rooted in the ground beside them. Flowers of all colors were planted all along the edges of the golden pathway.

The entire palace looked as if it was glowing in the sunlight as they neared the entrance.

The inside of the palace was even more splendid. The halls were laced in scarlet colored rugs, potted plants sat in every corner, and the walls were made of a deep brown wood as were the floors. The benches were made of solid white marble, the statues of what looked like Gods were carved out of the marble known to man. The curtains for the large window panes were made of a thick scarlet colored silk.

The palace was nothing short of magical.

“Shall we head to the throne room now?” Nayeon asked the boys who were still gawking at the inside of the palace.

Only two seats were currently in the bare throne room and both of them were currently occupied.

As the trio drew closer to the two figures they watched them rise from their seats respectively and stand beside each other.

Youngjae instantly recognized who the two strangers were.

“That’s the King Jung Daehyun and his sister Princess Jung Eunji.” Youngjae whispered to Sehun as they made their way up to the duo.

Eunji had long dark brown hair that hung all the way down her back. She was dressed in a plain white dress made of the finest silk with a golden “Y” shaped design down the middle of it, and she had a white silk sash tied around her waist. Her tiara was rested gently upon her head and it was made of solid gold and in a woven design. She had flawless milky colored skin, crescent shaped almond colored eyes, and pouty strawberry colored lips.

Daehyun looked exactly as how Youngjae had drawn him. Flawless ochre colored skin, toffee colored shaggy hair, crescent shaped chocolate colored eyes, puffy pale pink lips, tall and slender with muscular arms, and that familiar piercing gaze.

He was dressed in a solid gold outfit made of the finest silk like his sister. He had a golden belt tied loosely around his waist, and he wore a golden crown with red and blue jewels placed intricately on it.

“Nayeon, I see you have brought guests with you.” Eunji said as she smiled sweetly at the guests.

“Indeed I have your highness. I’ve brought the ones that the prophecy talks about.” Nayeon said as she humbly bowed.

The two boys followed her action and bowed to the king and princess.

Daehyun gazed at the elder of the two boys and when they locked eyes his gaze softened and his heart sped up.

He took in the sight of the male before him. Tousled black hair, flawless bisque colored skin, light pink rose colored lips, and nut brown colored doe like eyes.

Daehyun thought that Youngjae was pretty but it was impossible for a male to be pretty and yet here he was standing before him smiling sweetly to him.

“Have we met before?” Daehyun questioned Youngjae.

The elder male couldn’t help but feel like he had seen the younger somewhere before.

“No your majesty.” Youngjae said shyly as he shook his head.

“I see.” Daehyun mumbled as his thoughts began to drift off in several different directions.

“Nayeon, would you be so kind as to our guests to the bed chambers. I’m sure they must be exhausted from the trip.” Eunji said sweetly.

“As you wish your highness.” Nayeon said as she bowed to the Jungs.

Both of the boys bowed to the Jungs before they followed Nayeon to their bed chambers.

“There is something oddly familiar about that Youngjae guy.”Daehyun said to Eunji as the trio disappeared out of sight.

“You felt it too dear brother? Could he be the one…?” Eunji asked.

Daehyun rapidly shook his head, “no. It’s not possible. Nobody has seen him for years.”

“What if he is though? We could finally put a stop to this war with Woe. We could finally be at peace brother.” Eunji pleaded.

“No. Not until we have proof.” Daehyun stated.

“Do you really think they are the chosen ones brother?” Eunji asked as she looked her brother in the eyes.

“It’s hard to say but we don’t have much choice. We’ll just have to train them to be then.” Daehyun said flatly.

“Agreed dear brother.”
