Myungsoo’s P.O.V

I couldn’t help but stare at JunHee when he called me dad. Did something happen which made him dad? I hugged him in my embrace and smiled when he whispered in my ear. “Ahjusshi… please pretend to be Junhee’s daddy for a while. JunHee will explain everything to Ahjusshi later.”

Hearing that, I carried Junhee up and looked at him. “Did Junhee miss appa today?” He nodded and gave me a wide grin which made my heart melt. For some reason, I wasn’t against the idea of Junhee calling me dad. Just then, a bunch of kids just ran over and exclaimed. “Junhee! Your dad is so handsome!”

Upon hearing that, Junhee looked down and smiled. “Of course he is!” After that, he turned to me and exclaimed. “Appa, let’s go to the café near our house and have muffins!” I nodded and brought Junhee to my car while he bid farewell to his friends.

The moment we reached the car, Junhee looked at me and bowed. “Junhee is sorry! Junhee wouldn’t do that again!” and he went on explaining how his friends were going to laugh at him if they knew that he only has a mum. I chuckled slightly and pat his head. “It’s ok little buddy, now tell ahjusshi where the café is, I will treat you to muffins!” He nodded his head happily and smiled.

Along the way to the café, I couldn’t help but ask. “Junhee… do you know who your dad is?” He shook his head and smiled at me. “Junhee doesn’t know. Junhee has never seen daddy before. But I don’t miss him because I have my mum. Mummy said daddy was a really nice guy, but she had to leave him because of some reasons that Junhee didn’t understand. And… Junhee’s existence is not known to daddy too…”

I hugged Junhee tightly and smiled. “It’s ok. Ahjusshi will be your daddy from now on. Your friends wouldn’t laugh at you, alright?” I could see that he was really happy at the suggestion but he shook his head instead. “Mummy said I can’t and that pretty lady might get angry.”

Pretty lady? Ah… it must be Chorong. I squeezed his cheeks and laughed. “Ahjusshi will protect you, and I won’t tell mummy, so you can call me appa from now on.” Once again, his eyes sparkled and he held out his pinky finger. “Really? Ahjusshi promise?” I hooked his little finger and smiled while nodding, earning a loud yes from him.

How I wish he is my child.

When we reached the café and were about to walk over, I saw Jiyeon walking out of it with my mum. Upon seeing his mum, Junhee ran over and hugged her tightly. But what surprised me greatly was what Junhee did. He bowed towards my mother’s direction and called her grandmother… I am not hearing things am I?

I smiled as if I heard nothing and sensed nothing wrong and turned towards my mum. “Mum, why are you here?” From her eyes, I could see that she was panicking. “Oh… I just wanted to write the coffee here since my friend said it was really nice, and I met Jiyeon on the way. Anyway, Jiyeon, I should get going now. See you.”

Jiyeon gave her a small smile and bowed, bidding her farewell, and after that, we went home. The moment I reached home, I called my other secretary and told him to get more information for me.

Jiyeon’s P.O.V

My heart was leaping so fast and hard that I felt that it could jump out any moment. Myungsoo couldn’t have heard Junhee calling his mother, grandmother right? If he did, everything that I have been trying to hide, and protect for 5 years, will be gone. But luckily for me, it seemed like he didn’t notice it since he was all smiles. He wouldn’t be like this if he had heard it right?

Right after Myungsoo went off; Junhee started telling me to get Myungsoo to fetch him from school. When I rejected, he started wailing and crying and no matter what I did, he wouldn’t stop. Even when I get mad, or I hoax him with his favorite snacks, he wouldn’t stop. In the end, I just had to agree with him.

I shook my head as I place him on bed after his crying session. How do I even ask Myungsoo about it?

When the next day came, I got up and prepared Junhee for school when he suddenly said. “Mummy, I will be waiting for Myungsoo Ahjusshi today! Please tell him that! And with that, he ran out of the door, and into Baekhyun’s car.” I sighed as I bid farewell and went off to work. The moment I got into the building, I went straight up to Myungsoo’s office. Throughout the trip in the lift, I couldn’t help but think of ways to ask Myungsoo for the favor. He wouldn’t want to help after what happened between us, isn’t it?

I sighed as the door of the lift opened, revealing Myungsoo’s back. He turned around when he heard the bell of the lift ring. For some reason, his face looked so tired only after half a day of not seeing him.

He grabbed onto my wrist and pulled me towards him, making me trapped in his embrace. “Jiyeon – ah…” I shivered slightly upon hearing him call my name and my body tensed up when I heard his next statement.

“Why didn’t you tell me Junhee was my child?”
