Early life
Soomi was born on November 4, 1985 in Taipei, Taiwan as Tiffany Song. She moved to San Francisco when she was 8 and stayed there until she was 13 before moving to Korea. She is the youngest in her family and has two older brothers.
Her mother went into a coma after being in a car accident. She passed away on September 20, 1998.
Career
Musical Career: Hourglass
Before debuting in Hourglass, Soomi was placed in a four-member project girl group with member Mai. She was also scheduled to debut as a solo artist but the plan was dropped. She debut in Hourglass on April 16, 2004. She is the lead vocalist in the group.
Acting
Soomi made her appearance in labelmate Kangta’s Thanks God music video in 2001. She also appeared in Shinhwa’s Hero, Kangta’s Propose and DBSK’s Hug prior to her debut.
Composing & Songwriting
Soomi and Sehee wrote the lyric for Dear Mom. The song was included in Hourglass’s second album, Like This or Like That. She also wrote the lyrics and composed Wishing on A Star with member Yumi.
