As a little girl, my desires weren’t all that different from that of normal girls. I wished to marry someone I loved in my dream wedding and grow old with him, watching our children have their own families. Careers didn’t matter back then, just the wedding and who would be waiting down the aisle… Well. That and dollhouses.

My dream slowly faded, and I just wanted to be able to support myself. I no longer desired the family to grow old with because I now knew the difficulty in providing for that family. That is, until I met him.

I know, I know. If I were so steadfast in my decisions, one person shouldn’t have been able to change my mind so easily.  If you think that, you haven’t met the person that is meant to change your life. He accepted me for who I was, no doubt in my imperfections. We would be perfectly able to count on one another for support through whatever trials we faced.

How we met, I could never have predicted.  The trials that we faced were larger than my nightmares could ever imagine. The true story begins long before the trials, and I suppose it should be explained from the very beginning so we can avoid any future confusion…
