JAEJOONG’S P.O.V.

            What could I say? I couldn’t believe it, I really couldn’t. After Yamapi went off on Minami, she cried. The biggest emotion she’d shown since the funeral. And I didn’t know what to say. When we got home, she went to her room as fast as she could go. The rest of us went in, in silence, sitting in the living room. My parents were gone for the week, visiting Japan for unknown reasons.

            “What the hell were you thinking!?” Ryo finally snapped.

            “Just saying what needed to be said,” Yamapi said calmly.

            “Wasn’t that a little too harsh though?” I asked. “You did just meet to be saying things like that.”

            “It’s okay,” we looked up to see Minami, surprised to see her. “He was right to say those things. I’ve been to shallow and selfish.”

            “Minami…” I looked at her, shocked. She seemed… different.

            “I’m sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused!” and she bowed. She apologized on her own!

            “Oi!” Yamapi motioned to her. He got up and made the most ridiculous face I had ever seen. I started laughing along with Ryo, but froze when I heard a higher, soprano laugh. One I hadn’t heard since before the accident. Minami was laughing.

            Minami was laughing.

            MINAMI WAS LAUGHING!

            “I knew it!” Yamapi laughed too. “You’re so much prettier when you laugh!”

            She smiled at him. At him. Her first smile in a long time and wasn’t directed at me. My heart throbbed, a pang of jealousy running through my body. Without thinking, I got up and quickly walked out of the room, heading to her room.

            I was the one that was supposed to make her smile first. I was the one who should have received her first smile. She was dear to me. Precious to me. Because I...

            I loved her.
