MINAMI’S P.O.V.

Present

I yawned and looked at the clock. 7:30 A.M. CRAP! I changed quickly into my uniform, put my hair into two low pony tails, and groaned. I was going to get yelled at again by Mrs. Lee when I arrived at school. She hates my really wavy hair, but I had no time to straighten this morning… again.

I ran down stairs and saw mom making eggs and bacon while dad was busy reading the newspaper at the table drinking his morning coffee.

“Breakfast…” I murmured wistfully as I ran to the door. “Bye! Love you!”

“Where are you going Minami?” Dad stood over me as I put on my shoes as fast as possible.

“School… where else?” I stood up and looked at him puzzled. “Besides, I’m running late.”

“At least have breakfast,” I looked at dad who was… smirking?

“But…” I looked at him crossly.

“Oh, stop teasing her hun,” my mom peeked from the kitchen.

“Mom?” I turned to her for an explanation.

“Sweetie, it’s Saturday,” and both my parents began laughing hysterically.

“Oi! Dad why didn’t you just say so!” I wagged my finger at him disapprovingly. But I couldn’t stop myself from smiling and went to the table to have breakfast. “It smells so good! I’m soo hungry!”

“Hurry up and change, we’re going to the amusement park,” I looked up at my dad as I cleared the table.

“We are?” I cocked my head. “Why? Not that I don’t mind or anything.”

“My boss and his wife invited us,” he smiled. “You know we’re good friends. The want to meet our beautiful daughter and they’re going to introduce us to their son.”

“Dad, you’re not setting my up or anything… right?” I shot him a playful glare.

“He’s 19, and I heard he’s really nice and handsome,” my dad laughed. “As for setting you up, I have no comment at the moment.”

I watched as he went up to his room to get ready. I sighed as I put the dished in the sink and went to my room to change. I looked at my clothes and sighed. Maybe I’ll just tell them I have to study for exams coming up so I don’t have to meet another guy again. Whatever, this may be my last chance before exams to have fun. And who knows, this guy may be different.

I looked at my closet, trying to figure out what I should wear. In the end I settled for my black skinnies, a white skin tight t-shirt and a black leather necklace with the silver locket my parents gave me, and silver hooped earrings. I put some eyeliner on the top and bottom of my eyes and mascara, making my eyes pop. As for my hair, I put it up in a side messy bun with silver chopsticks.

            “Minami!” my mom called.

“Coming!” I ran downstairs and into our black jaguar.

“Minami, are you trying to make every guy at the park fall for you?” my dad teased.

“No, just trying to be descent,” I poked my tongue out at him.

“Alright you two,” Mom entered the car after putting the lunches in the back. “Let’s go!”

“Yes!” my dad pumped his fist in the air.

I laughed and the rest of the trip we sang to songs from TVXQ in Japanese and Korean. After about an hour we arrived. Man was I excited! It’d been a long time since I last came to the amusement park.

“Minami, don’t forget to be polite,” my mom reminded me.

“I know mom, I know,” but I only smiled.

“They’re the Kim’s, so call them Mr. and Mrs. Kim,” her dad pulled the cooler from the trunk. “I don’t know about their son though, okay?”

I only nodded and looked around expectantly. A silver BMW drove by but turned to park next to us. I recognized Mr. Kim as he stepped out of the car from the few times I’d gone to visit Dad at the company. He stepped out first and I bowed my head politely and smiled. He returned the greeting. Mrs. Kim stepped out and we greeted each other as my dad and Mr. Kim spoke.

“Jogun, this is my daughter Minami, and you’ve met my wife, Sakura,” I bowed again to Mr. Kim.

“Well, it’s a pleasure to see you again Sakura,” the shook hands and bowed their heads. “And Minami, very nice to finally meet you! Your dad wasn’t lying when he said his daughter was very beautiful.”

“Oh, ah, thank you,” I blushed. “Dad!”

The all laughed. Well, this is my wife Mijung and my son… is still in the car,” Mr. Kim looked at his car a little crossly. “Jae! Come on out here!”

JAEJOONG’S P.O.V.

I tsked in annoyance as my dad called me out of the car. I had avoided him for the past two weeks about his request for a family outing. I always said my schedule didn’t have any such opening any time soon, but he’d talked to my manager and my manager told him today I’d be free.

To keep my identity a secret I would go by Jae and I wore a beanie and nerdy glasses. He wanted to introduce me to his best friend’s family, especially his daughter. I groaned. I didn’t want to deal with someone’s family that got along well with my father.

As we arrived at the stupid amusement park, we parked next to a black jaguar, where a man was at the trunk pulling out a cooler, talking to who I suppose was his wife. A girl wearing black pants and white shirt with a black vest leaned on her car, arms crossed over her chest. She looked in the direction of the park, eyes shining. But when she saw us drive up next to her car, she looked on with curiosity, standing up straight.

She looked at the car and for a second I thought she saw me. I froze. No, she shouldn’t be able to see me; after all, the windows were tinted.

“Jaejoong, please be courteous,” my mom whispered.

“They’re the Tsubiyama’s,” my dad opened his door. “Don’t forget.”

My mom sighed and went after him. I stayed in the car however, and watched the introductions. I saw my father’s acting very well now, but he didn’t seem to completely acting now. Huh, interesting. I spaced out, not really caring if I humiliated my father, but he managed not to lose to his frustration.

            “Jae! Come out here!”

Reluctantly, I stepped out of the car. I shut the door with a WHAM! and kept my back to them until the very last second. My dad came up to and put his arm around my shoulder.

“This is my son Jae,” my dad smiled. “He’s 19, so please take good care of him!”

“Nice to meet you Jae!” Mr. Tsubiyama grinned as we shook hands. I nodded curtly. I shook hands with his wife and finally the girl.

“Nice to meet you Jae, I’m Minami,” she smiled and bowed her head.

“Nice to meet you Tsubikawa’s,” I said, pronouncing their name wrong… on purpose.

“Jae!” I heard my mom exclaim.

“Oi!” I looked at Minami again. “Tsubiyama’s! Tsu- bi- ya- ma.”

I looked at her crossly. Huh! As if I were a kid!

            “Tsubikana,” I shot at her.

“BA-KA!” she leaned in closer to me, taunting me. She just called me an idiot in Japanese! I heard her mom gasp. “Don’t act all cocky because you’re older. So stop saying our family name wrong when I already know you know how to say it right!”

“Well,” my father laughed. “Seems your daughter is pretty strong minded!”

“Shall we go?” Mrs. Tsubiyama asked, laughing as well.

“Don’t act like a pouty kid Jae,” Minami followed after the adults. “My exams are coming up, so I want to have fun today!”

MINAMI’S P.O.V.

As soon as Jae stepped out of the car, I knew he would try to cause trouble. I didn’t show it, but I was actually a little pissed when he purposely messed up our name. He was interesting and cute, but seemed a little arrogant.

At some point the adults somehow managed to ditch us and I couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed. I do didn’t want to be stuck with Jae alone, but I pushed one, trying to have fun.

“How old are you Minami? Twelve?” Jae smirked as I turned to look at him.

“I’m seventeen you dimwit,” I snapped.

“Oh, I see,” he rolled his eyes.

“Look, you can sit down if you want while I have fun,” I stalked off. I didn’t even bother to see if he followed.

“Hey cutie,” a tall guy stepped in front of me. “you seem lonely, why don’t I keep you company?”

“Really?” I batted my eyes. “I’d love that if you weren’t such a creep.”

“Well, too bad,” he grabbed my arm. Hard. “We’re going to have fun together, trust me.”

My fighting instincts kicked in, and just as I was going to kick his head I felt the guy let go of my arm.

“Huh?” I looked at my arm, confused.

“Hey!” I saw the guy on the ground. “I saw her first man! Get your own.”

Jae was looking down at him, a smirk on his lips. “Really?” he flashed a menacing glare to the poor guy.

            “Y-yes,” the guy stuttered, unsure.

            “Jae!” I grabbed his arm.

“Look at that,” Jae leaned down towards the guy. “She knows my name. You know why?” The guy shook his head. “Because she’s my girl, get it? Now scram.”

I watched incredulously as the guy ran away. Jae looked a little too happy. As for me, I was a little more pissed.

“Why did you help?” I snapped. He looked at me, startled. Obviously he didn’t expect me to get mad at him for “saving” me.

“He was hitting on you and hurting you,” he finally said.

“I had everything under control!” I glared at him.

“Really?” he shrugged and began walking away.

“Yeah, I know karate,” I snapped. I followed him and grabbed his hand. “But since you bothered to help me and call me your girl, you’ll have to act as my boyfriend so I don’t get bothered anymore by stupid guys!”

JAEJOONG’S P.O.V.

What was wrong with this girl? She took my hand and pulled me along to every ride she wanted to go on. She smiled and laughed the whole time, and eventually, I couldn’t help but have a good time too.

At some point she entered a mini contest to sing and dance to one of my groups songs. She asked me to join her, but I declined. She shrugged it off and got on the stage. I watched amazed as a crowd began forming to watch her. She was amazing.

            *Budump

I shook the feeling. When she came down, I congratulated her and smiled.

“You should smile more, it suits you better,” she smiled back.

MINAMI’S P.O.V.

Eventually we met up the adults and took a few pictures together. We saw each other off and as Jae got into the car I said, “Jae, you’re not so bad.”

“You’re not so bad yourself,” he smiled and got into his car.

“So, you have a good time?” my dad smirked as we drove off.

“Yes, I had an awesome time!” I looked out the window, smiling. But then I noticed a car, coming at as fast as we crossed an intersection.

That’s when it happened. The car was swerving like crazy, and never stopped at the red light. “Dad! Look out!” my dad saw the car and tried to dodge, but it was too late.

            Everything went black.

Yes! Update!
Great chapter. :D Even though the dad was wrong, it takes guts to apologize for something like that (even though he waited so many years to do it). I can't wait for when everyone knows who's who!
So . . . I think I prefer YamapiXMinami. Gosh, you sure like love triangles. :P
