Wandering around the dark streets of Echo Park wasn't unlike him. It wasn't new to him either. He always enjoyed this kind of freedom and the fact that he was raised on the streets made him feel comfortable. Of course, he had to be careful. He didn't live in the nicest of neighborhoods, but luckily he knew where it was he needed to avoid. He stayed on the usual course, walking along the outskirts of Dodger Stadium. Basking in the California breeze. Slowly but surely, he made his way back toward his raggedy apartment. The one he shared with three of his friends. "Yo, Tramp!" A tall black haired figure called once Yongguk entered through the front door. He sighed. "Damn it, Himchan. Please stop calling me that." Himchan only laughed loudly and yelled, "Never!" before making his way toward the kitchen and grabbing himself a bottle of beer. Himchan was the first friend Yongguk ever made while living on the streets. The two of them caused a lot of trouble during their teen years. Including shoplifting in order to survive. By fifteen, the two began working full-time in a supermarket, where they met the young Joggup and Zelo, fostered brothers who also worked there part-time while attending school. Eventually, they were legally emancipated from their guardians and were allowed to stay with Yongguk and Himchan as long as they kept up with their studies and maintained a job or joined an afterschool program. While Zelo was insanely tall and slender with short and shaggy bottle blonde hair, Jonggup had short brown hair, an athletic build and was of average height. Though both only one year apart, the difference in height was vastly different. And if it weren't for the babyface, at first glance, no one would be able to tell that Zelo was actually the youngest. Guilt hit as he watched the younger ones eyes on him. As the oldest he held a certain fatherly responsibility over them and didn't like when he made them wait or disappointed them in any way. "Damn, guys. You didn't have to." "Of course we do," Zelo disagreed. "We're family." - - - - - - - - - - Yongguk considered himself blessed. Blessed to be alive and blessed to be attending a school he would've never thought possible. UCLA was a far-fetched idea for someone like him, but he studied hard, like hell, and got his GED. And even though he neve
